Welcome to week 9, did you think at the beginning that you would make it this far? We're in the last two weeks now so let's all re-commit to this way of eating for the final stretch. Add your weigh-in to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness and how about some inspiring tales to keep each other going?

Hi all 😀
I was under prepared and ended up having a pret baguette for tea last night.
I’ve realised that carbs make my tummy feel full whereas HFLC makes my brain feel full (e.g. no ore occupation with food after sufficient fat)
Just another little realisation on the LCHF path!
I slipped back into this WOE easily today.

colouringinpro · 13/03/2020 21:58

thanks pretty my self control is on fire so I think I will be ok Wink

biwi yep. I'm not going mad Smile

Redrosesandsunsets · 14/03/2020 05:41

I’m still in boot camp but I have not being weighing in. So almost the 10th week. Just wondering how to do low carb with the virus scare and food supplies.

ShagMeRiggins · 14/03/2020 07:05

Same as always. Follow the guidance—both Bootcamp and that of government/health professionals— and KOKO.

Remember tinned and frozen veg count just as much as fresh.

BIWI · 14/03/2020 09:01

@Redrosesandsunsets - IME so far, the only food shortages I've seen in the shops are of pasta and rice (and cat food!). So you won't be missing out on anything that you might need to cook low carb meals.

As ever with low carbing, but even more so now with the virus, planning and preparation is key. So make sure you have enough stuff in the house to cook at least a few days' worth of meals.

The supermarkets are not going to run out of food - there will always be 'what if' plans in place for the major retailers - and you can order food online. You might not be able to get a delivery as easily or as early as you'd like/would normally, but they are delivering - and the hours they're allowed to deliver are being extended by the government.

So no need to panic! Unless you want loo roll

prettybird · 14/03/2020 09:11

I'm still good for c20 weeks with my No Deal Brexit loo roll stash Grin even though I haven't bought any since before Christmas Shock

And I have plenty of low carb foods stashed in the freezer and FLGV (and neeps and celeriac Wink) in the fridge.

venusandmars · 14/03/2020 14:27

We're hoping that a freezer full of chicken stock, a weekly delivery from our organic veg box scheme, and local eggs and pork will keep us going. I've syockpiled bought extra olive oil and butter, which no-one else seems to desire.

venusandmars · 14/03/2020 14:29

B - avocado
L - eggs, mushroom, ham
D - vegetable stir fy with kale, broccoli, green beans

Almahart · 14/03/2020 22:22

Seriously fell off the wagon for 24 hours. I find it so hard when carbs get a grip on me. Back on it tomorrow

Rayna37 · 15/03/2020 02:19

Nice day today yesterday now new parkrun over the border (fastest time this year) followed by full Welsh breakfast (gave doorstep toast to DS) at an Antiques place.
Did a big shop, no stockpiling as such but I have a freezer full of meat and fish, plenty of eggs, just hope getting hold of veg doesn't become a problem! Did think to freeze some milk and will do some batch cooking this week.
Went to our nearest pub last night as it's just reopened yet again and we'd like it to do well, lots of competition and of course terrible time to be a new business! Cod cheeks and steak with green veg, couple of glasses of wine. Luckily toddler DS is reaching the stage he objects when I pinch a chip Grin

StuntNun · 15/03/2020 07:47

I had a lovely dinner last night - a kind of taco bowl. I made a low carb chilli con carne replacing the kidney beans with courgette and bell pepper. I also prefer to use small pieces of beef rather than mince. Then shredded lettuce in a bowl, chilli, sprinkle of grated cheese and top with sour cream. Guacamole optional if you prefer. Absolutely lush and you don't miss the tacos one bit.

Oooh @StuntNun that sounds delicious

StuntNun · 15/03/2020 08:54

It was Alma Grin definitely going on the regular menu.

That sounds lovely Stunt, going to have to try that Smile. I'm still following the low carb, but...

Need to drink more water, although I am drinking more than I was so it's a good start

Need to eat more low carb veg

The red wine has crept back in

Also thinking may need to do some exercise??

Lost half a stone week one and so far two pounds this week - probably because of the above, but the half stone was really motivating. Going to try post daily for accountability Smile

MrsBertBibby · 15/03/2020 10:15

Morning. My Bootcamp culinary discovery is roasted cauliflower rice. I could live off the stuff! Roasting with paprika and cumin with sliced shallot then stir frying with mushroom and teriyaki marinated tofu. Soy sauce to taste. Lush! And the pack does 2 meals (probably 3 if I did more veg with the tofu). Fab easy fast dinners.

MrsBertBibby · 15/03/2020 10:15

Good work Sophie.

TheClitterati · 15/03/2020 14:25

Pre bootcamp belt was on hole 2 or 3. Now I wear it in hole 5! I'm starting to feel a bit light/less fat.

ShagMeRiggins · 15/03/2020 19:33

I find it so hard when carbs get a grip on me. Back on it tomorrow

No judgment but wondering why you still find it so hard. Have you asked yourself?

When we know our “why” it’s clearer what we do next, Almahart
