Nice bit of Spanglish to start the new thread!

Unfortunately I can’t find a way to link to the spreadsheet so I would be very grateful if someone could do that for me.

I'm away at my DB and SIL's right so haven’t had a chance to catch up with the week 7 thread, but hope everyone has been doing well, KOKOing and therefore seeing good results on the scales, with their clothes and/or with the tape measure.

—And before @StuntNun dobs me in I will confess to having fallen into pizza and fish and chips this weekend—

I've lost 1lb that's 4lb this Bootcamp. If it stays off!

secondchapter · 05/12/2019 10:22

Nov 18th 20st 2lb
Dec 5th 19st 9lb
Lost half a stone! Going to eat poached eggs for breakfast again and try to drink more water today :)

Iris1 · 05/12/2019 11:54

Thanks for the well wishes - this cold has been awful!
Finally starting to feel more human but lost my voice!
Managed 45 minutes in the gym, 10 minute run and some weights and stretches. Couldn't work as hard as I normally do but to be expected really at least I went as it's been a week now.

Weighed in at bang on 10 stone 1. Means I've lost 11.2Ibs in 6.5 weeks. As started boot camp after everyone else.

Goal to get below 10 stone by 22nd December. So gives me just over 2 weeks to hopefully lose another 2Ibs. Idea being I can relax and ignore the scales for a week over Xmas (though I will definitely be being restrained and keeping carbs quite low)
Then back on the wagon after boxing day.

Long term target is 9 stone so a stone to lose in the new year. Might aim for by Easter. Will see.

Well done everyone on your good results. So nice to read.

Food today will be
Creamy coffee (now)
Omelette with spinach, bacon, leeks.
Dinner will be basa fillet. Kale. Cabbage.

Have half an avocado to eat so will snack on that at some point.

moleeye · 05/12/2019 12:59

Thanks @bingenomore I've really enjoyed meal planning and the OH is doing it with me so we are 'in it together'. He's giving me lots of inspiration as well which is great.

Hoping for a whoosh before Christmas, (would like to lose another 4lb) as am taking the kids into work for 'bring your kids to work day' on 20th Dec and I haven't seen anyone since I was 9 months preg. Shallow I know!!!

prettybird · 05/12/2019 13:38

Not sure I see a difference.... Confused

The one that is slightly closer up is c4 weeks ago (and c3lb heavier).

But I'm KOKO - and those trousers will be looser by Christmas Smile

(posted this yesterday on the Westministenders thread by mistake ShockBlush

  • cue very rapid self-reporting of post Grin - but then couldn't re-post on this thread as I'd used up my allocation of photos via the App Hmm)

Nonononon · 05/12/2019 17:44

I can see a difference prettybird!

Food today
L: 200g of kale in a carbonara type sauce (mushrooms, bacon, garlic, FF Philadelphia, parmesan)
D: whole romain lettuce head with ham, cheese, chicken thigh, and coleslaw (maybe a bit too much as was 5g of carbs per 100g)
X2 coffee with FF milk

I popped a chocolate button in my mouth earlier without thinking (was dishing them out when I was at work) but quickly spat it back out again BlushGrin
I'm feeling much better today, have been poorly the past few days with a god awful cold and felt terrible after all the crap food at the weekend, that so wasn't worth it so I will not be doing that again, disgusting and a total waste of money.

ShagMeRiggins · 05/12/2019 18:17

prettybird how can you not see a difference??!! It’s so clear. Well done, you. And the westminsterenders thing...? Grin

Lots of great reports coming in, so pleased for everyone and full of sympathy for those who are unwell.

KondoKonvert · 05/12/2019 18:25

I cannot seem to satisfy hunger today! I'm a bottomless pit. I've kept it low carb but I've been starving all day. I'm usually pretty full on the WOE so don't know what's wrong with me today!

B: 3 egg omelette with asparagus and mushrooms made with coconut oil and butter, creamy coffee

L: homemade burger with salad, olive oil and mayo, cream coffee

Snacks: cheese wrapped in ham, olives, quite a large portion of Greek yoghurt, 2 squares of dark chocolate

D: bacon, eggs, mushrooms, courgette fried in butter and coconut oil.

KondoKonvert · 05/12/2019 18:26

@prettybird I can see quite a marked difference on your waist. Definitely looks trimmer!

secondchapter · 05/12/2019 20:39

Got my spiraliser out and made low carb courgetti Bolognese for tea. Had a good day food wise but struggling to fit 8 pints of water in, I'm only up to 4 so far...

venusandmars · 05/12/2019 21:21

@KondoKonvert I wonder if you are fighting off some kind of low level virus? Listen to your body and give it what it needs (as long as its not asking for a can of Irn Bru and a deep fried Mars Bar).

Protein, bone broth soup, chicken soup. Supplemented with green veg rich in vitamin c (spinach, broccoli etc). At this time of year there are all kinds of viruses going around and our immune systems need to be in tip-top condition. Relax into it, let your body do its work.

rosesandsunflowers · 05/12/2019 22:15

I have a confession and I think I need @BIWI big stick! I ate half of my toddler's peanut butter and raspberry jam sandwich today! With this way of eating I find it only works for me if I've planned ahead with what I'm going to eat. I've been flat out with organising stuff for our house move the eating plan has fallen by the wayside.
B: cup of tea
S: pork scratchings
L: half a peanut butter and raspberry jam sandwich (sorry) + coffee with cream
D: omelette with mushrooms, spinach and chorizo

I can't wait to move next week so I can stock up my fridge and cupboards properly again!

KondoKonvert · 05/12/2019 22:16

@venusandmars that didn't cross my mind at all! Come to think of it, my youngest was pretty snotty today. She's only 19 months so she's sneezing everywhere. Wonder if there's something in the post...oh the joys!!

Iris1 · 05/12/2019 22:45

Eating not gone to plan. Still no real appetite. I have a background feeling of hunger but don't want to eat - just the tail end of this horrid cold .
Anyway I've had
A creamy coffee
Two chicken thighs and some leftover kale, red cabbage and sprouts fried in butter. (Hard work but forced it all down)

Couldn't face an evening meal but I've eaten four squares of dark choc lindt and a packet of pork scratching s.

So all low carb but doenst feel like a balanced day.
Had loads of water.

Can't wait to get back to normal.

On a plus I compared my 6 week progress pics and notice a massive difference. So pleased.

absopugginglutely · 05/12/2019 22:59

Hi all...
I’m so happy I’ve lost 2lbs this week, I was 10.9 last week and now 10.7 the thing that really seems to
Shift things for me is water and loooooads of it, kind of had to learn that for myself.
I’m so pleased, I started this two weeks before it officially started and lost half a stone in the first two weeks then stalled for about a month and now I keep losing!
I’m praying that I can get down to 10 stone by Christmas 🎄

Today I had:

1xcream coffee
1x meatballs and tomatoey sauce
1x “
3 litres water
Some salami

Exitstrategist · 06/12/2019 02:10

Just an observation- hope someone more knowledgeable can clarify... Some people are eating very little in a 24 hour period, particularly those who only eat two meals. So is the weight loss due to that or actually low carbs?

absopugginglutely · 06/12/2019 05:09

@Exitstrategist someone more knowledgable will be along soon I’m sure but this way of eating is very high fat/ calorie so your appetite reduces naturally.
I still get the munchies the week before my period and never don’t eat on the rare occasions I feel hungry but the thing is you can eat such satiating things that it’s not an issue or a case of restricting.

Bluntness100 · 06/12/2019 05:18

There is a calorie impact but if you add it up, and count the fat it can easily be in excess of 2000 calories even when it appears very little is eaten. An example being salami is very high fat and calorific. It's definitely the carbs and research shows this.

As the pp said, your appetite naturally regulates when you're not having insulin spikes, so some days you will not feel hungry and eat less, other days you'll be hungrier and eat more.

You really need to look at someone over a period of a week, how active they are etc, to get a feel for it, one day in isolation doesn't say much.

moleeye · 06/12/2019 07:24

Morning all!

So weigh in day for me and I've lost half a pound. Down to 192.7

@AthelstaneTheUnready can I be cheeky and ask you to update the spreadsheet for me please. I just can't seem to do it from my phone 🙈

I'm happy with that, especially after my mid week meltdown. Lesson learnt, no more daily weighing for me as it really affects my mood. Like a pendulum!!

I need to sit down this morning and meal plan for the week. Much easier not being at work at the moment so I'm able to dodge all the food and festive drinking.

Tomorrow will be hard as we are decorating our tree and usually we have mince pies, mulled wine and hot choc whilst singing along to Christmas songs and I love it! 😂 Am saving myself so I can have a few treats Christmas Day though and that's keeping me focused.

TamingToddler · 06/12/2019 07:58

@Exitstrategist it may seem people aren't eating a lot but if you consider one tea spoon of oil is 100 calories that easily bumps up a person's calories for the day on this way of eating.
There has been a study backed by over 100 doctor's to show that intermittent fasting and eating in an 8 hour window, even exceeding a person's total energy expenditure for the day (so over their calories that person needs for the day) loses as much weight as someone on a calorie restricted diet. This was due to having 16 hours with no fluctuations in insulin. So intermittent fasting along with a low carb lifestyle will help you lose weight and body fat despite the calories they are consuming.

ShagMeRiggins · 06/12/2019 08:00

Some people are eating very little in a 24 hour period, particularly those who only eat two meals. So is the weight loss due to that or actually low carbs?

Yea, take a look at the overall food/calorie intake over the course of a week. Some people might seem to be eating little on a day or two, but others are eating three fat-laden meals per day and still losing the weight. It’s the insulin regulation that yields weight loss, not the calorie regulation.

Also, quite a few are doing intermittent fasting which isn’t against the rules, in fact has benefits, but isn’t necessary for weight loss on LCHF Bootcamp.

StuntNun posted recently to someone who didn’t seem to be eating enough, and why that approach actually stalls loss on this way of eating rather than aids it.

If you popped someone’s weekly intake into MFP it would be clear that restricting calories isn’t happening and is not the source of the successes.

Exitstrategist · 06/12/2019 08:37

Thank you for the replies. You’re right- definitely feeling less hungry since starting this WOE and am probably guilty of not eating or drinking enough which may explain the stalling of weighing scales last couple of weeks.

ShagMeRiggins · 06/12/2019 08:44

Exitstrategist is your past experience with weight loss approaches of the low cal school?

DownUdderer · 06/12/2019 09:42

I’ve had bolognaise sauce and spinach for dinner, with cheese. Yum.

DownUdderer · 06/12/2019 09:53

I’m 12lbs down since the beginning of boot camp! I’m quite surprised by that!
