Evening all

I'm starting the new chat thread this evening, as we're going to be away tonight, and I won't have an opportunity to do this tomorrow morning. And I know how you all start chomping at the bit after about 5am on a Monday, waiting for me to start the new thread Grin

So here is the Spreadsheet

Hopefully now we've got through weeks 3 & 4, things are starting to go well for you all. Although I have noted the various lapses

Look forward to hearing how you've all got on

This morning when I was out early felt hungry and needed to eat. Usually I'm not hungry and fast till late morning. Any way I ate peanuts, too many. I don't have an off switch for nuts. Lunch was a couple of bits of left over belly pork. Dinner was sausage, egg, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes. So virtually no veg and usually I eat a FL. I feel slightly sickly now but at least the food I ate was on plan (or would have been if I'd stuck to one small portion of nuts)

DownUdderer · 22/11/2019 23:33

I’m down a pound this morning! Wow! I’m down a stone since the beginning.

I wore my new shorts yesterday, out in public. I felt great! I think my thighs have stopped rubbing together.

I’m getting closer to my goal. I think I’ll reach goal before Christmas Day.

I’m eating to plan approx 90% if the time. I’m happy with my day to day ability to roll with the punches and make the best decisions I can in the moment. I always have heaps of veggies for dinner in the evening.

Koko everyone!

rosesandsunflowers · 23/11/2019 00:58

Not been on much this week as it's a bit manic (should be completing on a house on Monday) and I spent the entire afternoon in A&E with my toddler who managed to bite through his tongue falling over. . Only just inputted my weigh in details that I did on Monday. I lost 3lbs this week and 7.2 so far in total which I'm pretty pleased about.
Today's meal:
B: none as didn't have time. Just a cup of tea
L: Omelette with cheese and half an avocado. Followed by a butter coffee
D: steak with celeriac chips and broccoli
Must try harder with my water. I was doing so well at the start but I've not been great the last couple of days.

Rshard · 23/11/2019 08:13

That’s superb downudderer!

Hope your toddler is ok now rosesandsunflowers.

Off to a gala with dd today which can be a bit of a danger zone as boredom sets in quickly and there is always a cake stall. I’ve got leftovers to take and distractions to ease the boredom so should be good!

Happy weekend everyone

ShagMeRiggins · 23/11/2019 09:46

stayathomegardener wonderful difference in the photos. Is the flat stomach all this WOE or have you also been exercising? The result is amazing.

Such great successes here, small and large, and great attitude from all.

WATER! WATER! WATER!

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 23/11/2019 10:33

Just checking in to say I'm still here! Stayathomegardener, you look amazing, well done! Small NSV here in that my engagement ring is back on again (again) after a nasty bout of Sticky Finger and my lovely embroidered skinny jeans went on, did up and looked fab! They're a Sainsburys 14 so I'm definitely counting that as a win. My Sainsburys 16s are now so loose I really only use them for cleaning-under-the-bed days.

I'm struggling a bit with managing water, though. After my Funny Turn last weekend I've pulled right back on constantly sloshing with it and feel less faint and tired a lot of the time. However, the weight's not moving (obvs!) and it's affecting my digestion, so I need to recalibrate again. I know more electrolites would help but I can't use marmite and drinking stock feels wrong, somehow. I shall look in H&B today for the tabs you mentioned, @BIWI, but I'm wary of a WOE that requires supplementation to that degree.

prettybird · 23/11/2019 10:39

Greenwillow - I "supplement" with every second pint of water having a squoosh of lemon juice and a shake of Lo-Salt. If I don't, I start getting too thirsty Confused and getting headaches.

KondoKonvert · 23/11/2019 11:48

Sorry - I know this has been asked before but what's a good substitute for cornflour for thickening? I'm planning a big dirty cheese fondue for Friday night! As long I avoid the bread and dip veg and salami, I should be grand!

BIWI · 23/11/2019 13:50

@IWillWearTheGreenWillow

This is really concerning me:

I'm struggling a bit with managing water, though. After my Funny Turn last weekend I've pulled right back on constantly sloshing with it and feel less faint and tired a lot of the time. It's not the water that's causing you to feel faint, it's the imbalance of the electrolytes. Pulling back on the water will help in the short term but not drinking the water will impact on your rate of loss - as you're already seeing!

What on earth is wrong with drinking stock?! If it makes you feel any better, put it in a soup bowl and consider it soup!

The electrolyte imbalance should sort itself out soon, especially if you make sure you're eating the right foods. There's absolutely nothing wrong with using supplements - even in the longer run. Lots of people routinely take a multivitamin. It's no different from that.

BIWI · 23/11/2019 13:52

@KondoKonvert the BBC recipe for fondue uses only 1 teaspoon of cornflour for a quantity that serves 4 people - so I really don't think you need to worry about it!

absopugginglutely · 23/11/2019 15:15

Hi all,
I hope you’re all having a good day!

Lost my appetite a bit today.

B: 1 sausage low carb leftover from last night, cream coffee.
L: cream coffee 1.5 L water.
D: will be... beef bolognaise with whole bag of watercress.
Need to squeeze in another 1.5L soon.

I went to town for a mooch earlier and instead of my MO buying cakes/ snacks I came home with a lovely bag of greens: watercress, green beans, Pak Choi - I’ve changed! Grin

LittleSwede · 23/11/2019 15:25

Kondokonvert I had fondue last weekend and dunked little rolled up pieces of ham and roast beef as well as the odd cherry tomato. Forgot to buy pickles or they would have been ok too Smile

LittleSwede · 23/11/2019 15:26

Oh and lightly steamed florets of cauliflower and broccoli...

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 23/11/2019 15:31

Apologies, @BIWI, I didn't mean to worry you. I have bought some bouillon powder and have a mug of it now. I did look at the electrolyte tabs, but the only ones H&B had were mixed with caffeine, which does not generally agree with me, so I left them there. I suppose a "clear soup" starter with lunch and tea would be a good idea!

I am still very much feeling my way with this WOE as it turns out there are more things that don't agree with me than I thought.

You can put the big stick away now, I promise Wink .

ShagMeRiggins · 23/11/2019 16:17

What on earth is wrong with drinking stock?! If it makes you feel any better, put it in a soup bowl and consider it soup!

Drinking stock = a lovely mug of bouillon

Drinking stock in a soup bowl = consommé

Lovely, warming, classic. Wink

KondoKonvert · 23/11/2019 16:17

Thanks @BIWI - I'll go forth and add the cornflour

I like those ideas @LittleSwede! I love pickles!

Iris1 · 23/11/2019 17:26

Hi.
Today's food

Creamy coffee
2 heck chicken sausages, avocado, spinach and mushrooms cooked in butter and boursin
Cream coffee
Salmon fillet (baked with lemon), absolutely loads of kale and cabbage roasted in Olive oil and salt. Put butter on after.
Loads of water

Can anyone tell me why butter doesn't count like other dairy?

Iris1 · 23/11/2019 17:33

Also can't believe anyone would say this is unhealthy. I'm eating so much more veg and drinking so much more water. I feel incredible compared to 6 weeks ago.

Someone was telling me a few days ago how they watched game changers and it's made them think it's the only healthy way to eat. How fat is in people's blood and everyone needs carbs for energy. I didn't say anything
But I don't know. I feel so much better. And I'm definitely eating more veg than meat.
Has anyone watched it? What do you think?

BIWI · 23/11/2019 17:36

@Iris1 because butter is a minimum of 80% fat, and contains only a minimal amount of lactose, the main carb in milk
