Evening all

I'm starting the new chat thread this evening, as we're going to be away tonight, and I won't have an opportunity to do this tomorrow morning. And I know how you all start chomping at the bit after about 5am on a Monday, waiting for me to start the new thread Grin

So here is the Spreadsheet

Hopefully now we've got through weeks 3 & 4, things are starting to go well for you all. Although I have noted the various lapses

Look forward to hearing how you've all got on

Dinner tonight is one of my favourites (not least because it's also so easy!)

Roasted veg with (low carb) sausages. So tonight it's roasted courgette, leek, cauliflower, celery, chilli, garlic, onion and carrot. As well as the sausages I also add a sliced Halloumi. All roasted in lots of olive oil.

Argh I’m soooooo stressed!
My three year old lost the plot at 5:30 when I attempted to help her pick up her fishfinger.
From then until five minutes ago she wailed the house down throughout bath, teeth, PJs and bed! I’m SO cortisoled up I really want to eat chocolate to help me calm down!
This is genuinely the first proper chocolate craving in over a month!
🤯🤯🤯

BIWI · 21/11/2019 19:40

Don't do it! It will only add to your stress levels later/tomorrow, when you step back and think about what you've done!

Go and have a nice hot bath yourself, with a good book/magazine and just relax. (At least she's stopped now!)

Thanks BIWI luckily we don’t have any.
I just can’t get rid of the wired feeling!

stayathomegardener · 21/11/2019 19:44

I too have been not posting (sulking) as no movement in the scales for the last two weeks.

Im also not loving the food, I've removed the dairy as allergy symptoms were becoming overwhelming but so missing butter on everything and the recipes from this thread cauliflower cheese, crispy cheese omelettes etc.

I do however have some great NSV's...
I'm really clear headed.

I have so much more time because I'm not always eating.

Food bills have gone down because... hey I'm not always eating.

I now have double the wardrobe of clothes that fit.

I purchased the most beautiful green dress today, did not go out to buy dresses but it looked so great on I couldn't resist.

Also reserved a boiler suit, need to go back tomorrow and try it on properly as can't quite believe it looked as good as it did. It would have looked awful five weeks ago.

Amazing what a difference 6lb's make.

ShagMeRiggins · 21/11/2019 19:56

Hello! And well done. Enjoy the threads, and the process.

Ps—a weight “gain” of .2lbs is meaningless, especially if you’re a daily weigher.

BIWI · 21/11/2019 19:59

@stayathomegardener butter doesn't count as dairy, so feel free to melt as much of it as you want over your food!

OP posts:
stayathomegardener · 21/11/2019 20:04

@BIWI you don't think butter could have been triggering my allergies? Itching inside my ears and sneezing was awful and that's pretty much gone now.

Ketomeato · 21/11/2019 20:45

Stayathomegardner my allergies have been worse too but I’ve established it’s actually the nitrites in bacon!

Ketomeato · 21/11/2019 20:47

Thanks BIWI, will stay firm and wait for a whoosh!

SittingontheSidelines · 21/11/2019 21:23

Lunch was leftover cod and veg - roasted cabbage and runner beans

Dinner. Belly pork, grilled tomato, cauliflower, cheesy leeks.

8Track · 22/11/2019 00:14

Brilliant Stay! You sound so positive.

Struggling to keep in touch with no phone, koko tho.

DownUdderer · 22/11/2019 02:44

I’ve just read someone saying they’ve had a lighter period, oh my goodness me too. It’s like someone else’s period! I can’t believe how much different it is for me now. If I didn’t loose weight and feel great etc etc I’d still stick to low carbs for my nicer periods alone!

Anyway. I’m feeling amongst friends here because I’m feeling like I’m in a plateau but honestly I can see now it’s not really. But I’ll still cheer out loud if these scales shift for me!

I’ve had a great hike today and last evening (because I live in Australia) I went in the sea for a swim and wore a rash vest from many many years ago, it fit me rather well and I looked at the label wondering what size it was and it said ‘junior’ so I felt pretty pleased with myself. Now don’t ask me why I had bought a child’s rash vest, I can’t think why!

moleeye · 22/11/2019 06:55

Morning all!

Weigh day for me and I'm -4lb down. That makes 17lb in 3 weeks which I'm over the moon about!

Takes me to 13.13

I cannot believe the difference. The OH has lost 14lb and is very happy. He's constantly researching recipes and sending them to me 😂

Still a way for us both to go but we are all fired up.

Thank you again for all the support on here. I've found my people!

Rayna37 · 22/11/2019 08:14

Away again, but pretty good day yesterday:

B: 2 scrambled eggs
Pot of nuts (30g) from home plus a Starbucks Americano with cream.
L: Waitrose bits: lemon chicken slices, Serrano involtinis (love these!)
D: in a harvester: bit of salad then steak, bearnaise, tenderstem broccoli, with a topper of garlic prawns.
Ok but not brilliant on water.

Did some yoga earlier and now eating a Premier Inn breakfast: bit of fruit and yogurt ( not particularly low carb) but the hot food is cooked to order here so better than average! Bacon, eggs, sausage, black pudding, mushrooms and tomato. Need to swerve the office biscuits!

KondoKonvert · 22/11/2019 10:17

Concentrating on water today!

B: smoked fish and broccoli omelette with a bit of Parmesan

L: green salad with feta and a skin-on chicken leg.

D: takeaway tonight so mostly likely a shared chicken tikka starter followed by lamb saag.

It's Friday so probably a couple of G&Ts

venusandmars · 22/11/2019 12:42

Lots of water and herbal tea here too.

B - avocado
L - buttery spinach soup
D - chicken parmigiana with cabbage and kale fried in butter topped with cream, parmesan and crispy pancetta

LittleSwede · 22/11/2019 12:51

Feeling quite rubbish today resulting in lowcarb slice bread with butter and cheese for both breakfast and lunch Blush Whilst it's 'low carb' it's not necessarily sticking to boot camp rules. A repeat of last Friday really.

Will cook pork medallions with buttery vegetables later for dinner. Have managed to drink lots if water though and will plan 'real' food for tomorrow.

Iris1 · 22/11/2019 12:59

Thanks everyone for the welcome and the sensible advice!
I weighed again this morning and I'm down a Ib so there you go. If I'd have got fed up yesterday I could have ruined it all but I stayed on plan and today I'm down.
So that 8.2Ibs down in 5 weeks 3 days.

Well done everyone on losses. It's motivating to read how well everyone is doing.

I haven't eaten yet today (never really eat before 12 anyway due to IF and just don't get hungry now) so will have something shortly. Prob some eggs and bacon with some avocado and spinach and butter on.

Dinner tonight will be chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce with green beans, cabbage and kale roasted in Olive oil.
I have some strawberries and cream for after with a square or two of dark choc as a Friday evening treat but I won't have it if I feel full. Trying to only have a treat like this once a week in the evening (So Friday or Saturday as that's when OH scoffs his treats while we watch something together) so it's nice to have something that feels indulgent.
Might have a glass of chardonnay.

I'm 2.4 litres of water down.

Been to the gym..5 day streak. Weekend will be my gets days as only what to go to the gym when my kids are at school so works well

Just bought the ingredients to make a Xmas cake for a gift. Lucky I don't like it myself so I know it won't tempt me. In fact I feel it will be nice to bake without it making me feel like I want sugar - iyswim.

KOKO

Day off Christmas shopping with dh and we went to French Bistrot for lunch and there were lots of lovely low carb options. Had roast haddock wrapped in pancetta with a cream, leek and mustard sauce, plus veg. Dh kindly ate the potatoes.

stayathomegardener · 22/11/2019 17:09

I have a NSV before and after.

Before bursting over jeans.

stayathomegardener · 22/11/2019 17:14

And after now I've finished prancing around doing selfies like a teen in new outfits.

Stomach is almost totally flat.

Definitely need to say a big thank you @BIWI and all the posts really kept me going.

I'd been off the low carb woe for almost a year and just couldn't seem to get back on track.

stayathomegardener · 22/11/2019 17:52

Awwww thanks I FEEL amazing and I felt dreadful five weeks ago.

I'll be 51 in the new year and felt physically ancient. I really am bouncing round. Smile
