Morning campers Flowers

Once more for you, the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it's been a good week, and I hope that the scales have been kind to you this morning.

If not, and if you haven't been cheating (!) then just remember that weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for seeing very little or no weight loss. KOKO (keep on keep on) and hopefully things will soon get going again.

Here's to a good week! Smile

What a lovely thread!

I’m making low carb bread later (eggs, cream of tartar and cream cheese) so I can have something approaching florentina pizza tomorrow. I’ve bought too much spinach and have to get through it somehow!

Do any of you do visualisation? I’ve been trying it and am clearly picturing myself with the scales reading 6lb less than they do now. Don’t know why 6lb but it felt right “and therefore must become so!”Grin

Gah I'm so hungry tonight!!!

I had dinner at around 5pm and I feel really hungry for some reason. I'm usually ok after dinner so don't know what's going.
I'm fasting so don't want to break the fast either. I've drank tons of water today and tonight, don't want to drink anymore because I'll be up peeing all night!

Doilooklikeatourist · 07/11/2019 21:10

I need to lose from my bum and tum , have nice arms and ok legs
Weight always goes from my boobs first though , which I would quite like to keep !

I work in a cafe , and am constantly picking up heavy saucepans , or kneading bread ... that keeps my arms under control I think!

After feeling all gloaty , managing to sink a glass of water before 7-30 , I didn’t have any more til about 3 , so have been chugging it down since then

Brunch cheese omlette
D ratatouille, LC cauli cheese , spinach , mushrooms and leeks
Quite a good day , in all

Still off the wine , and the weekend usually starts on Thursday here

If anyone else struggles with wanting to drink less , there’s a really useful book that was recommended on the May Bootcamp ( in sorry , I don’t remember who suggested it ) called “the unexpected joy of being sober “ by Catherine Gray , it’s very good

I love this way of eating! I present to you a port chop the size of your head; a.k.a. a tomahawk steak. Shared the roasted beetroot and some of the meat with DH, and had some buttered greens on the side. Pudding was not an option. Did eat a bit of the warm fresh bread with butter and infused oil, and had a purple sprouting broccoli starter. Incredible birthday meal for DH. This was our third trip to one of The Pig hotels, thoroughly recommend.

Morning! First real test of this WOE today - I have a breakfast meeting at an Ole & Steen café in London. Previously, I'd have been headfirst into the baked goods. Today, it's going to have to be yoghurt with compote and grains as slightly better than yoghurt with dried fruit. Does anyone agree?

Lunch will also be out.
D: pasta and sauce for the DCs. Courgettini for me instead of pasta, not sure about sauce yet - I don't actually like the tomato and mascarpone that they love.

Water could also be complex as I'm going to spend a couple of hours on the Tube, so I'll have to be careful with volume!

venusandmars · 08/11/2019 08:30

That looks like a challenge greenwillow If it were me, I'd grab a low carb breakfast somewhere else beforehand (avocado, egg, or M&S food?) so I didn't start hungry. Then I'd order as you suggested and only eat a bit of it.

Will there be better choices for lunch?

B - butter coffee, scrambled egg
L - avocado, salad
D - prawn and coconut curry with spinach, and cauliflower rice.

LittleSwede · 08/11/2019 09:38

That Tomahawk looks yummy Rayna I do love a steak.

So day 15 for me (entering the 3 week stage) and down 3 kg or 6 pounds. I don't think I have ever managed to loose that much when I've low carbed before. I think I am definitely snacking less this time, having more water and probably keeping carbs under 20 grams most days.

B - Omelette with feta + creamy coffee
L - Not sure, maybe cold meats, salad and mayo
D - Fondue night! Will have with rolled up slices of ham, beef, cauliflower/broccoli florets, gherkins a cherry toms

Trousers have become baggy underneath bottom so must have lost some there. I can't really go down a size though as although I have lost around the waist/under bust area, I still have a belly sticking out under it so any trousers which would fit legs would be too small on tummy. I think I might have to wear leggings until I fit into the next size down. A bit of a first world problem really.

@Rayna37 I was bought The Pig's cookbook for my birthday - a really interesting book about the company, the hotels and their values. Unfortunately, although the recipes are all very lovely, they involve cuts of meat (like your Tomahawk steak) that you just can't buy in the supermarket. And we don't have a good butcher near us either!

ShagMeRiggins · 08/11/2019 10:05

Rayna I can’t decide which is more attractive in that photo, you or the tomahawk. Grin

LittleSwede · 08/11/2019 10:09

You can sometimes get a Tomahawk in Morrisons I think (around Father's Day, because only men eat steak of course. Snark!) and I think I've bought one in Aldi some time ago.

LittleSwede · 08/11/2019 10:10

I'm currently addicted to Ribeye steak, cooked so that the fat melts and flavours the meat. Drool... If I was in Sweden I'd drench it in béarnaise sauce too (low carb)!

Doilooklikeatourist · 08/11/2019 10:13

@Rayna37, I’ve just googled pig hotels after seeing that picture of a tomahawk ( wipes jaws )
Next mini break is going to be at one of them I think

Rayna37 · 08/11/2019 10:38

RigginsGrin

Glad to share the Pig love, all. BIWI DH just bought us a copy so look forward to checking it out. We do have a good butcher though never tried to source anything unusual so we may be putting them to the test!

ShagMeRiggins · 08/11/2019 12:18

LittleSwede ribeye is my absolute Go To steak option. All that beautiful fat! Usually with a homemade bleu cheese sauce (pot of sour cream, same measure of mayonnaise, heated, and a pack of your favourite bleu cheese crumbled in and mixed). Usually have loads of the dressing left over so it’s used for dipping in celery when I want a filling snack.

LittleSwede · 08/11/2019 12:48

Shag that blue cheese sauce sounds amazing, will definitely nab that recipe. I eat blue cheese almost everyday, goes nicely in an omelette.

LittleSwede · 08/11/2019 12:51

Despite having low carbed before, I still can't get over that I get to eat butter, cheese, steak and pork belly slices, with buttery veg of course, etc and actually loose weight. I once tried SW for about 5 days, have never felt so ill and deprived. Bring on the fat!

ShagMeRiggins · 08/11/2019 13:14

The recipe is from IPD, to give credit, and the recommendation is for a chunk of bleu rather than the whole pack, but hey, I’m a rebel, and I love my flavour.

As for the fat, it’s sustaining. Fat of the land, etc.

LittleSwede · 08/11/2019 13:16

Have got the IPD book somewhere...goes to dig it out...

KondoKonvert · 08/11/2019 13:53

I've got ribeye on the menu for tonight and I'm already excited by it!

prettybird · 08/11/2019 13:57

Photo of trousers as requested. Muffin top doesn't look as bad as a) it feels on my waist and b) because my arm is lifted to take the photo.

These are not supposed to be skinny trousers Blush - they're supposed to be and were classy "grown up" trousers to wear with a crisp white shirt (which is also a wee bit neat Blush)

I'll take pictures in a fortnightly basis Smile

Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - the first month is finished!
SittingontheSidelines · 08/11/2019 15:14

Next time I have steak its definitely going to be rib eye with a blue cheese sauce. Your descriptions of melting fat are mouthwatering.

I'll swap your muffin top for mine @prettybird. Mines less a muffin and more a fresh cream gateaux. Grin

Nonononon · 08/11/2019 17:48

So managed to ignore the hunger last night and didn't eat until 11.30am today Grin win! It was my own fault for not eating enough at meal times. Lesson learnt!

L: tin of tuna with mayo, two boiled eggs, some mushrooms and leeks fried in butter.
D: chicken thigh, bag of mixed salad leaves ( watercress, rocket and spinach) some olives, and feta.

SittingontheSidelines · 08/11/2019 18:26

My lunch was left over fried veg with fried eggs again
Dinner was pork curry with cauliflower, cumber and Greek yogurt.

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 08/11/2019 19:04

I survived my outing! Sadly, I was already on the train when I read your clever idea of pre-eating, venusandmars. I did have the yoghurt with seeds and swerved the compote. For lunch I had the innards of a Leon chicken burger and a bottle of water. For tea, I've just had buttered sprouts and pork belly strips with mayo.

I've only had 1.5l water, so I'm working on that this evening. I'm also admitting to a small glass of red with a very old friend after my meeting, because we realised we'd not entered a hostelry together since I left our joint workplace 22 years ago!

I've noticed I'm needing less to eat to be full, which I think is good.

absopugginglutely · 08/11/2019 19:34

Hi all, really busy week so just checking in will read thread when toddler asleep!
B: cream coffee half a litre water
L: tin of tuna mayo with spinach
D: steak and watercress
2.5 litres water

Getting so annoyed with weight stall.

KOKO
