Morning all! Very sorry for the late start. I set my alarm. Woke up. Wondered why I'd set my alarm and went straight back to sleep Blush

Anyhoo.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

For those of us who are new, the spreadsheet is not only where you record your weight (if you want to - it's not obligatory), it's also where you'll find lots of other useful information. Look at the tabs at the bottom for the rules, a veg counter (that will work out your carb count for you if you're using it for a recipe), and lots of other resources to help you learn more about low carbing.

I'll be back to post more stuff later this morning, but for now just wanted to get the link out there.

If you're using your phone to access the thread, you will need to download the Google docs app.

Evening all

Food today:

B - FF Greek yogurt
L - bacon and poached eggs (was out for lunch and swerved the cake, fries, wine and bread)
D - chicken and lamb kebab with some cheese and cucumber.

Was at a spa all morning so have weird massage headache (I'll feel amazing tomorrow though) and drank 6 cups of water there, plus another 2l through the day. Need more veg in my meals and probably more fat, I've struggled for the last couple of days.

Probably tmi but I'm struggling to go toilet regularly, I think increasing my fat will help, but it's making me feel a bit blurgh.

Well done on the walk Athel. And swerving the wine!

Opensesame1 · 18/10/2019 19:40

Yesterday's food was

B mashed egg in a cup with butter
L steak mince fried with mushrooms topped with cheese
D was leftover mice and cheese from lunch

Today I had

B mashed egg with butter
L 2 steak burgers topped with cheddar and cherry tomatoes

I havnt had dinner yet. I'm not hungry.. I havnt been in 2 days!! I am aaaaaalways hungry so this is really strange for me! I'm worried at every meal that I am doing it wrong because I am eating cheese and really enjoying my food! After years of brainwashing by slimming world this feels so wrong somehow!!!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 18/10/2019 20:14

Thanks, Glen! Usually lots of food gets rid of the craving, thank goodness!

About to push my luck and look through the Booth's Christmas book which I picked up on my way back from dahn sarf (Penrith).

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 18/10/2019 20:14

@Opensesame1 it's not wrong, but it's hard to go against the way we have been conditioned to think at first. A knowledgeable person will be along soon to help!

Likewise for those with carb flu, koko and re-read BIWIs posts on the subject on this and previous BCs. She knows what she's talking about!

I may have spent far too much of today reading previous BC threads

Think I've done well today. Even water consumption was up (and I'm paying for it now in toilet time).

Also got loads of recipe ideas from past threads Grin and those exploded babybels...

Weekly weigh in for me, and after staying as I was last week, this week I have lost the grand total of...... 🥁 0.1kg!!

Clearly this is not working for me. I have not eaten bread, cake, sugar, potatoes etc. for 6 weeks now, only drunk (lots of water) and green tea. No cheating whatsoever, but no weight loss either.

I can only assume I must be one of those cursed individuals for whom dairy (i.e. cheese) is a problem. Which, as a vegetarian who loves cheese, is pretty sad news Sad

whojamaflip · 18/10/2019 21:30

I've really struggled to eat today - just haven't been hungry! Had a headache most of the day too 🙁 have drunk loads of water too - huge thanks to the poster who suggested drinking a glass of water every time I'd been to the loo - it's made remembering to drink a lot easier!

SittingontheSidelines · 18/10/2019 21:47

Just caught up with the thread and logging my food
B yogurt
L more leftover stew and cabbage and cauliflower.
D salmon, tenderstem broccoli, asparagus.

More lovely sounding food today. Including microwave sprouts and Curried roasted cauliflower.

After months of no celariac our Tesco seems to have them again which makes me very happy.

absopugginglutely · 18/10/2019 21:53

Loving the meal ideas!
B:2xcream coffees
L:celery dipped in almond but butter, a slice of cheese, a pepperami.
Dinner:
Amazing chicken Spanish meal (4.7 per 100g) meal with chorizo and a pile of buttery broccoli

Snack:
1x strawberry and a nose of Brie.

Aldi shop tonight! SO many delicious low carb meals there. Chicken meals, meatballs etc really great veg including sprouts!

And I found some lc Greek yog!

Water water now!

absopugginglutely · 18/10/2019 21:58

@MrsGarethSouthgate if you’re thinking of giving up the LCHF could you change to vegan diet? Everyone I know who has gone vegan has lost vast amounts of weight?

It’s disheartening trying for 6 weeks and not losing weight. Would you be willing to try reducing your dairy for a few weeks to see if it makes a difference?

stayathomegardener · 18/10/2019 22:01

I'm going to struggle tomorrow as (reluctantly) going on the Brexit march. Leaving at 5am and back after midnight.

I've made a huge oily salmon salad and packed a portable breakfast but I won't be able to carry anything else or drink anything as barely any loos.

Plus it will be exhausting if anything like last time; I have cfs so flag easily.

MrsGarethSouthgate · 18/10/2019 22:08

@absopugginglutely

Thanks for the suggestion.

I am not quite giving up yet, I am going to follow your suggestion of reducing the cheese dairy and will see if that changes anything.

I will also try and drink even more water - I think I am drinking around 3 litres a day plus maybe 3-4 green teas, but maybe that's not enough either🤷‍♀️

Here's to next week's weigh-in 🤞🏻

prettybird · 18/10/2019 22:22

Be patient MrsGarethSouthgate - some people do stall for weeks. @ilovecherries stalled for months before eventually the scales started moving down again. Smile

Have you also measured yourself? Are you seeing any difference in your measurements? Sometimes when I've stalled, I've found that my waist measurement has still reduced Confused

Rayna37 · 18/10/2019 22:26

MrsGareth perhaps post your daily menus (with quantities) and see if anyone can see any issues or suggest anything. This is definitely a more difficult diet for vegetarians.

Friday's food:
B: 2 eggs scrambled with butter and a dash of cream, a little smoked salmon.
Snack of 2 sticks of celery with full fat soft cheese (Aldi's own, it's one of the lowest carb I think)
L: Tuna mayo (Hellman's) with spinach, tomato and cucumber with olive oil; small piece of cheese
D: bolognaise on kale with Parmesan

Water on track but I'll have to focus on it over the weekend as I find it much harder then.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/10/2019 23:27

I can't eat almost any cheese if I want to lose. It's like nuts for me, too easy to eat too much. I've learned to my cost. Not sure if it's the insulin as much as cheese is addictive. Actually addictive like sugar so it's too easy to scarf it when you're not actually hungry.

DownUdderer · 19/10/2019 02:37

Blimey this thread moves fast! I’ve been low carb for a month, but I’m happy to report a pound off this morning so that’s a pound off for the week. I’ve had scrambled eggs for breakfast and some halloumi. I’ll have smoked salmon and asparagus for lunch. I’d like to loose 15lbs.

Rshard · 19/10/2019 06:10

Forgot to post yesterday’s food

B eggs scrambled in butter
L filling from a home made quiche, (broccoli and Stilton) and massive salad
D some cheese and salami - ate lunch at half 2 so wasn’t hungry after doing the swim run.
All my water, 2 black coffees and 1 tea

StuntNun · 19/10/2019 07:14

@MrsGarethSouthgate six weeks of staying the same doesn't mean it's not working for you. For example it can happen depending on your diet before you started Bootcamp or if there's an underlying hormonal or thyroid issue. Sometimes there's a healing process that needs to take place before weight loss can start. The best thing is to list out your food and drink for three days so we can see whether there are any changes that can help. Dairy isn't usually an issue to the point that you have to cut it out entirely. More commonly it's the frequency of dairy consumption that's the problem. E.g. if someone is have cream in their coffee several times a day and they're particularly sensible to the hyperinsulinogenic properties of dairy.

Wibblytummy · 19/10/2019 08:49

Got my coffee ready and off to go catch up on the thread. Yesterday was a manic one with work so didn't post but it was scrambled eggs for breakfast, grilled halloumi cold chicken and courgette for lunch and dinner was the pizza chicken recipe from the chicken recipe file.

Absolutely delicious as I've done things like that in the past on slimming world but it was always just plain purée under the cheese etc but this purée, with a bit of oil etc was incredible and the whole family loved it. Served it with a mountain of broccolini, asparagus and green beans.

I started it a bit early so on my 11th day of boot camp and yesterday was my first day I craved something sweet. Sat next to the kids eating penguin bars and was desperate to snaffle one but held firm. Back to normal this morning and managed to make them all waffles without even flinching HaloHalo

Did a sneaky weigh this morning and am 9.5lbs down, so pretty chuffed. Would love to shift another 14-20lbs if possible.

PrimaDonna123 · 19/10/2019 08:49

Feeling smug after my circuits class this morning. Exercise is definitely getting easier almost two weeks in. This is the first weekend we have got zero plans so am looking forward to a bit of a chilled one.

Today’s plan looks like this:

Brunch: bacon, sausage, mushrooms in butter, scrambled eggs with butter and cream

Should keep me nice and full til teatime when we’re having

D: Greek lamb (lamb leg steaks marinated in lemon juice, olive oil, rosemary, oregano, garlic and black pepper, in the slow cooker for eight hours), with these lemon and feta courgettes which are AMAZING.

venusandmars · 19/10/2019 09:14

B - avocado, butter coffee
L - scrambled eggs, crispy pancetta, fried mushrooms
D - courgizza bites (slices of courgette topped with lc tomato pesto, olives and grated cheese, in oven till the cheese melts) then cod, creamed spinach, crispy kale

SittingontheSidelines · 19/10/2019 09:19

Those courgizza bites sounds delicious. I'll definitely be trying them.

Nonononon · 19/10/2019 09:37

Morning all!
Something amazing just happened.. I just sat down to breakfast (sausage and cloudbread sandwich) and had to leave the 3rd sausage 😯 this never happens.
I was eating and thinking "this will tide me over till this afternoon" but I just really didn't fancy the rest of it, like my body was saying, "nah thats enough" but without feeling full (I'd usually only feel like enough was enough if i was bursting) so thats progress!

1Wildheartsease · 19/10/2019 10:07

I have found this too nonononon 😀. It is as if the settings in our bodies are calibrated for this kind of eating.

Appetite is satisfied - without you being stuffed (or all plates empty). I love this feeling.

TheHoundsofLove · 19/10/2019 10:07

This thread does indeed move fast! I've just had a catch up...
I don't feel that I've had a perfect first week as my son and I have both been ill this week and then was out last night where the vege food choices weren't really very bootcamp friendly. But, have weighed myself this morning and have already lost 1.5 lbs over the 5 days, which I'm really pleased with. Onwards and upwards!

Glenthebattleostrich · 19/10/2019 10:12

Good morning everyone,

That's awesome Nonono a great feeling. I'm sitting thinking I need to make breakfast but I'm not quite hungry enough yet.

We are off to Costco today to do a good stock up. Halloumi, chicken, cheese, cream cheese and water are on the shopping list. I will avoid the samples unless they are low carb.

Today's food plan is -

B - bacon, scrambled eggs with cream and butter, mushrooms in butter.
L - Costco beef hotdog without the bun (will check carb amount first)
D - probably chicken wings with chopped veggies
S - tea with double cream, cheese board while watching strictly.

Tomorrow is good prep day. I'm making up lunches and a couple of easy teas so I'm not tempted to cheat. Apart from a niggling headache I'm feeling good. 2.7lb down so far this week :)
