Morning all! Very sorry for the late start. I set my alarm. Woke up. Wondered why I'd set my alarm and went straight back to sleep Blush

Anyhoo.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

For those of us who are new, the spreadsheet is not only where you record your weight (if you want to - it's not obligatory), it's also where you'll find lots of other useful information. Look at the tabs at the bottom for the rules, a veg counter (that will work out your carb count for you if you're using it for a recipe), and lots of other resources to help you learn more about low carbing.

I'll be back to post more stuff later this morning, but for now just wanted to get the link out there.

If you're using your phone to access the thread, you will need to download the Google docs app.

@BIWI thanks, you're right, I should have name changed really Grin

@SittingontheSidelines thank you, that's a relief!

Just got in from work so looking through all the posts for food inspiration. Did have some hm broccoli and Stilton soup, but DH ate it. Git!!

ShagMeRiggins · 16/10/2019 20:47

I'm picturing cauliflowerpower sitting with her lunch and a glass of whiskey... Grin

Let’s not judge, venusandmars. Some days are tougher than others, and at least it’s a clear spirit. Wink

midnightbeery the minute I started low carbing, everyone in the household started eating my meals and snacks. Infuriating! But it reinforces how delicious this way of eating is.

dripdrops I've got some Tefal pans which have a removeable handle (two pans, different sizes, with one handle which I use on whichever one I'm using at the time). The smaller one is great for frittata - you can take it across to the oven to be grilled, and then take off the handle.

Rshard · 16/10/2019 20:56

Just came on to recommend my pans dripdrops, which sound exactly the same as prettybirds.

What was the bourbon meant to be cauliflower?

B - bacon scrambled eggs
L - chicken salad mint yoghurt dressing
S - bit of cheese (was hungry and was eating later than usual)
D - low carb sausages cauliflower broccoli

Less processed meat tomorrow

All my water and 1 cup of tea

Cauliflowerpower · 16/10/2019 20:57

Lol @Venusandmars what typo... I dont even like whisky! Could have gone for a glass of wine tonight though... two exhausted wailing fighting 4 year olds.... gaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

Dinner was a definite hit

www.ibreatheimhungry.com/low-carb-beef-stroganoff-meatballs-recipe/

I made it into a meatloaf as I couldn't be faffed with rolling them out and then frying them. That needed more herbs/seasoning however the sauce was amazeballs... I didn't have Xanthan gum and I added a couple of tsp of gravy granules. Was lovely.

It recommends and links to a recipe for cauliflower puree and omg it was just like mash! My husband thought it WAS mashed potato.... when I get to work tomorrow I will type out the recipes on the recipe pages properly but I thoroughly recommend.

Cauliflowerpower · 16/10/2019 20:58

Boursin 😂🤣😳😳😳

Cauliflowerpower · 16/10/2019 21:01

Onceuponabeery. Have my 1st LTB

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 16/10/2019 21:17

Would anyone mind casting their eye over what I've eaten today to tell me if it's ok?

B: two eggs scrambled in butter with two chopped mushrooms and a handful of spinach.
L: Tuna mayonnaise with rocket and cucumber, and a slice of Gouda.
S: slice of Gouda
D: pork steak and green beans with garlic butter.

Is this loads? It feels very indulgent.

BrassicaBabe · 16/10/2019 21:19

A new celeriac recipe for dinner from me from Diet Doctor....Sliced. Roasted. Then topped with a pre cooked mix of bacon, spring onions (I used a leek), creme fraiche, cheddar and a pinch of cayenne. Very tasty! Recipe also said leave the root whole, but I sliced it and laid the gooey mix over each slice.

Cauliflowerpower · 16/10/2019 21:30

Oooooh I have a celeriac.... I shall have to try that @brassicababe

Gah! Sorry for double post. Bloody phone or something.

dripdrops · 16/10/2019 21:51

Thanks prettybird and Rshard I will look at those.

Dungarees that sounds like a great nutritious day of food to me! It definitely feels indulgent eating fat after so much 'light' and 'fat free' food, but I think we need to make sure we are eating for our hunger and not starving so that our bodies can adjust.

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 16/10/2019 21:54

Ah thank you @dripdrops. Good to know I am not wildly out! Huge sugar cravings this afternoon but I got through it and at least I am not hungry.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 16/10/2019 22:18

So, I went to my conference today. Lunch turned out to be hot food rather than sandwiches. I skipped the hot food and went for a plate of side salad. Very pleased with that outcome.
which means that my.meals today were

B - 2 x hard boiled eggs
L - salad with cheese
d - Grilled chicken with cabbage and leeks in a cream sauce (1 TBS cream, 2 TBS Philadelphia)

plus lots of water and herbal tea

m0therofdragons · 16/10/2019 22:22

Was feeling peckish so snacked in some chilli cheddar. So nice! Now off to bed happy I've definitely drunk enough today!

lurknolinger · 16/10/2019 22:27

Thanks for adding me @Athelstane

Nonononon · 16/10/2019 22:28

dripdrops That does sound very tempting so well done for resisting!

As of tomorrow I'll be at work for a couple of days, this is usually where i fail diet wise so i have prepered some food to take with me.
I've made a kale a red cabbage coleslaw, will have that with tuna mayo and have made a chilli that has..
1 large Courgette
Onion (half a medium)
Yellow pepper (I know I know, from the red list but I bought it last week thinking peppers were 'keto' and didn't want it to go to waste)
Two sticks of celery
Two tins of chopped tomatoes (tomatos aren't great either but these were 3.2g of carbs per 100g so thought they'd be ok? I'll look for better ones when I go shopping)
And 750g if 10% fat beef mince.
Some oil and lots of herbs and spices.

So yeah, may be a little on the carby side but it'll do around 4-5 portions so should be ok.
I wanted to use up what I had in the fridge too and will go shopping again on Saturday.
This time NO PEPPERS and at least 20% fat mince!

Nonononon · 16/10/2019 22:31

Oh one more thing before I forget.
I remembered something I used to make years back, looking through some of the diarys I think some people might like it and it's worth trying.. sounds a little odd but it's lovely.

White cabbage sauteed in butter, add some fennel seeds. Fry some more, Done! You can add cream to it too if you like. Goes really well with pork.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 16/10/2019 22:40

@Cauliflowerpower thank you. I have told him that roasted husband is a perfectly fine lc option. He is very quiet and going shopping tomorrow apparently Grin

Food today:
B: OK, I failed. Cup of black coffee.
L: Well brunch, kind of. 3 boiled eggs.
D: Tuna mayo and a tiny bit of grated beetroot with cheese, attempted to wrap with lettuce but ended up requiring a bib... Any tips? What am I doing wrong?!

Water about 1.5 ltrs. Will do better tomorrow (day off, so can spend it running to the toilet!)

Also planning to batch cook tomorrow, so will be more prepared for work days, as my shifts are weird Blush.

BIWI · 16/10/2019 22:58

@IJustWantToWearDungarees

B: two eggs scrambled in butter with two chopped mushrooms and a handful of spinach

Perfect!

L: Tuna mayonnaise with rocket and cucumber, and a slice of Gouda

Perfect! (Assuming it was full fat mayo?)

S: slice of Gouda

Perfect! (You should find that you won't want to snack between meals soon, but if you do, then cheese is great)

D: pork steak and green beans with garlic butter

Sounds lovely, but not very much? You could have had more green veg with this.

Is this loads? It feels very indulgent

No! It sounds like absolutely lovely and totally enjoyable food, which is just what a low carb diet should be Flowers

Phew, have finally caught up on the thread. There have been several yummy cabbage recipes posted that I can't wait to try. I'm sure they'd go well with that roasted husband too!

My food yesterday:
B: Yoghurt
L: Mushroom & ham omelette with cheese
D: Salmon kebab with salad & slaw.

Starting to feel clear-headed & bouncier. I LOVE this way of eating.

KOKO everyone Smile

Good morning all. Just to say for anyone still struggling I've opened the spreadsheet in the app. I'd tried all the suggestions (thanks everyone) but it still wouldn't open. Just tried again, went to the spreadsheet from Biwi's link and noticed at the top of the spreadsheet "open in app" pressed it and it worked. Don't know if it had been there all along and I'd missed it or something I'd done made it appear, I had been trying to open it from the bottom of the page.
