Morning all

Hopefully there will be some losses to record on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness but please don't be disheartened if you didn't lose (or even see a small gain.

Weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for this. Your body is getting used to the new regime, but if you stick to it, then you should see things get moving again from next week.

If you are struggling, make sure that you are following Bootcamp rules to the letter; consider whether or not dairy is an issue for you - and if you've moved to Bootcamp Light then perhaps consider going back to Bootcamp for another week or so?

Whatever the case, don't develop a case of the fuckits and jump head first into the biscuits. That's the only way to guarantee that you will gain weight!

Morning lovelies! Good to have you back, RightYes, and even better to hear your hopeful news.

First day with a weight starting with a 12 today! Very pleased.

Doilooklikeatourist · 06/06/2019 07:15

@MrsBertBibby .I am a chef !
When I get home DH says What’s for dinner ?
I’m so fed up of food , I’d rather have cheese ( and a big glass of wine ! )
Usually end up cooking , but as I get my lunch at about 3 , I’m not wanting a meal 7 ish , and don’t want to eat later , as I can’t do late nights

Trying to plan a bit better , and we’re having sea bass with samphire tonight ( also hoping that’ll get things moving as I’m suffering from LC constipation 🙁)

Nameusernameuser · 06/06/2019 07:44

@MumbleLumble I have PCOS. Haven't really noticed any changes in it yet unfortunately but not sure it's been long enough. Weight loss is tough, it just doesn't shift. I've lost 4.5 lbs this bootcamp, can not seem to get down into the next stone. I'm going to stick out the whole of bootcamp and see if anymore comes off.

m0therofdragons · 06/06/2019 07:46

Scales are not budging. I'm hoping for a whoosh as I've followed the rules and I log everything I eat. I feel slimmer yet scales say the same Angry

I wore THE dress yesterday - lk Bennett fitted dress. I got quite a few comments which is nice but also a bit embarrassing. I'll koko hoping for the whoosh but if nothing by Monday then I'll need to change something for the final 7lbs.

IStillMissBlockbuster · 06/06/2019 08:35

I am down 1lb! Very happy, this is the weight I was for years and years. Perhaps not my ultimate goal but a very happy milestone.

I am a new fan of Waitrose own proper greek yoghurt (not greek style). Thank you to whoever recommended it on the thread for week 2 or 3. I'm having it now with a coupe of cut up strawberries and it is great. Feels like a proper luxury! Not too tart at all. Happy days. Smile

Almahart · 06/06/2019 08:37

doilooklikeatourist where do i find this low carb nutty granola you mention?!

I lost the plot with raspberries yesterday and ate s whole punnet by nibbling atbtyem overbthe evening - 150gs so about 8 carbs all together? Still I suppose as blips go it’s not that bad. White wine is usually my downfall

prettybird · 06/06/2019 09:00

m0therofdragons - sometimes you lose inches even though you don't lose weight Confused

I have a set of measurements, both taken at the same weight (but I'd been off and back on the wagon) but with literally inches off key measurements like my waist and under-bust.

KOKO Flowers

m0therofdragons · 06/06/2019 09:04

I know @prettybird and I'm sure I have but I don't measure. I can't explain why but measurements make me really anxious (I'm not an anxious person in any other way). I realise it's bonkers but I've had to step away from the tape measure. Stupid brain.

prettybird · 06/06/2019 09:15

Then step away from the scales too - and just go by how your clothes (especially your lovely LK Bennett dress Wink) feel Smile

You're so close to target, changes on the scales are inevitably going to be really slow and, like a watched kettle, might be demoralisingly slow.

Notwatchingtvtoday · 06/06/2019 09:26

I’m a daily weigher, which is great when the scales are moving downwards, but can be tricky when I plateau or I gain. However I have lost another half pound so am pleased.

I really find it useful to log in here in the morning and state what I’m going to eat, it gives me a plan, even if like yesterday I change my mind. So having made the Frittata yesterday my day ran away with me and as I was not hungry I did not have it, BUT it is very comforting to know it is in the fridge and I can lop off a chunk, Chuck it in the microwave and have a very quick and on plan meal. It might be a good option for anyone who wants something very easy for when they get in from work.

Ended up making a chicken stroganoff with mushrooms last night ( had some cold cooked chicken to use up) it was a quick and easy dinner for all, I literally threw it in the wok and we ate 15 mins later. I had it with celaric mash but would have worked well with courgette spaghetti or cauliflour rice.

Today’s plan

Tea with almond milk
B total yogurt with flax seeds and crumbled raspberry
Butter coffee
L Frittata
D roast lamb, celaric mash (leftover from yesterday) asparagus and broccoli
Snack teaspoon of Marsacapone if craving something in evening

Have also discovered new tea Pukka Vanilla Chai it was lovely and I preferred it on its own without almond milk

Also tried Tea Pigs Snooze, which I really did not like (was rather disappointing at £4 a box)

IStillMissBlockbuster · 06/06/2019 09:36

I'd love to have a thread of sauces that we can just chuck on whatever we're eating.

On steak, I love the Argentinian sauce called Chimichurri and if you grow Parsley and get forests of the stuff like I did in my herb garden, it's a great use of it, plus it freezes well.

Chimichurri
Ingredients

2 cups packed fresh parsley leaves
4 medium garlic cloves, peeled and smashed
1/4 cup packed fresh oregano leaves (or 4 teaspoons dried oregano)
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Finely chop parsley, garlic, oregano, vinegar, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper (to taste).
  2. Add oil. Transfer sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate at least 2 hours or up to 1 day to allow the flavours to meld. Before serving, stir and season as needed. The Chimichurri will keep in the refrigerator.

Extra ingredients – nice but not necessary
Pimentón
3 tbsp lime juice
Basil
Thyme

Summery1 · 06/06/2019 09:47

Blockbuster that looks lovely. There are recipe threads, but you're right, a sauce from the fridge would be very handy. I'll try this one.

prettybird · 06/06/2019 10:08

Maybe put that on to the Vegetarian Recipes thread: I know you're suggesting it to go on meat, but it could go on pretty much anything to give them a bit of zizz! Smile

IStillMissBlockbuster · 06/06/2019 10:24

Ok, good idea.

Heartyhooker · 06/06/2019 11:26

@Yesbutno I only use my hooks to make things - currently a direwolf sigil cushion for oldest offspring, though I can open a padlock with the tiny steel ones.

Onwards and upwards today

B creamy coffee and water
L not sure yet
T assorted cold meats, olives and salad. Am going to make coleslaw too.
Breakfast was in Booths conveniently next too boys school, I nearly came over all English and said don't bother with the cream when the server went to get it off the shop floor, I don't know why

IStillMissBlockbuster · 06/06/2019 11:47

Is there anything crunchy I can have with my morning yoghurt?

prettybird · 06/06/2019 11:49

I struggle with crunch but if you're on to Boot Camp Light, you could make some of the Low Carb granola (in the veggie recipe thread) and have that with it Smile

BIWI · 06/06/2019 12:10

I can recommend that granola - just be careful how much you eat as it's very moreish!

Lovely. thank you. Smile

readyforsunshine · 06/06/2019 12:31

So glad I swerved the wine & takeaway craving last night as I can report not only a loss but I’m in the 10s!!
A way to go yet but it’s strengthened my resolve

Youwanapizzame · 06/06/2019 13:23

HI everyone!

B - sausage and bacon
L - salad
D - soupy noodles with prawns and lots of chilli (bare-naked noodles)

Soupy bit made with fish stock and fish sauce and cream! YUM

blackteaplease · 06/06/2019 13:24

Ultimate test for me this weekend. I am baking for, and manning a cake sale at a car show this weekend. I'm planning to have a big breakfast so I wont be tempted.

chocolateavocado99 · 06/06/2019 14:21

I am currently doing the 30 day plank challenge and finding that it is starting to pull my saggy stomach in! It also only takes a few minutes so is easy to do!

Love al the recipe ideas I am getting from people posting daily menus. I am currently in a bit of a rut of
B - poached eggs with cheese
L - olives/ cheese / crudites and ham roll ups
D - bbq chicken (skin on) or pork with cauli mash and salad.

prettybird · 06/06/2019 14:33

blackteaplease - you can do it Smile ...and it then gives you great confidence and smugness afterwards GrinHalo

I also recommend having lots of water available. Every time you feel tempted, take a swig of water Grin And if someone brings some meringues, plus cream to sandwich them together, check that they've not sweetened the cream Blush (that was my only brief lapse on Saturday - when I thought I could have some cream that had squished out the meringues..... Hmm)

ShagMeRiggins · 06/06/2019 14:42

Hooray for you, readyforsunshine!

Hey y’all...WATER! WATER! WATER!

I’m back from the doc’s where we had a quick chat about recent blood tests. No sign of diabetes indicators, blood pressure in good range, liver function tests are a bit high alcohol, I’m sure Blush but have reduced without medication since this time two years ago. Which was my first real go with bootcamp. So that’s marvellous.

Cholesterol is still high and I take medication for it. I know how to improve my HDL but wondered, without doing my own research just yet, if anyone has suggestions for how to improve the LDL score, as that’s the one the cardiologist worries about.

We did chat about another med that would help but he’s not convinced by the long-term results of this particular medication so we agreed to just keep an eye on it.

Anyway, LDL ideas...Go!
