Really really must join and stick with it this time! Tried it a couple of years back with great results but allowed life chaos to get in the way of keeping going and am back where I started. I know it works!

My main downfall is planning / actually cooking sensibly.

Can I ask if you can have coffee & sweeteners or sugar free squash?

Coffee is fine, but coffee with sweeteners is a 'no', along with sugar-free squash - because they contain artificial sweeteners, and we're trying to avoid anything unnatural.

Rule 10

Sugar is an obvious ‘no no’, but artificial sweeteners are also an issue. One of the aims of this way of eating is to eat pure and natural foods, so including sweeteners is not recommended. Some people find that artificial sweeteners can impede their weight loss, and there is some suggestion that your body can respond to sweeteners as if they were sugar, by releasing more insulin - and therefore laying down fat. Given that the aim of Bootcamp is to help us lose our sweet tooth and addiction to sweet things, then it is a good idea to avoid sweeteners altogether in this first two weeks.

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal I have lost two and a half stone since January 2018, and more importantly I have kept it off. A wee bit of fluctuation of a couple of pounds up and down, but no bounce back.

It takes a bit of thinking about but you soon adjust. Today my dh had biscuits and pate and salad. I had sliced mushrooms, spread with butter and topped with pate. And olive oil and mayonnaise with my salad. It doesn't feel like deprivation, it feels like a glorious feast.

Please can I join? Fresh back from holiday over-indulgence and want to get in shape for the summer. I’ve done versions of low-carb before and it’s my most successful diet method. Looking forward to getting started

Welcome! Glad you've decided not to lurk this time

Ok! I am kind of ready! I have mea planned for the week. I am making the egg muffins for breakfast, an egg salad for lunches (can I have white wine vinegar?), and an old favourite recipe of chicken legs braised in cider and bacon (minus the usual tbsp of flour) and aubergine parmigiana for dinners.

Damn I just realised that the cider isn't allowed.

I am on my own this week and don't mind having the same thing every day (although i'm going out for a meal with a friend mid week so i'll have to figure that one out in the restaurant).

Just realised how reluctant I sounded above! I was just thinking the other day how I really needed to knock eating bread on the head once and for all as it makes me feel so bloated and rubbish. I actually do OK losing weight with small amounts of rice and carbier things like sweet potato, but they’re quite sweet and it can be a slippery slope and before I know it I’m eating crisps and cake again! This has come along at just the right time to get me back on track and kick the sweet stuff / snacks / booze.

My husband and I have fallen into a habit of watching game of thrones on a Monday night with cheese and snacks, so I’ll have cheese and olives without the crackers (or wine....sniff!) tomorrow night. I’ve got salad stuff for lunch so I just need to make a frittata or something for the morning and day 1 is in the bag!

I am in too! Lurked a bit this time last year and had a go - but didn’t stick with it. Feel motivated this time! I need to lose 2 stone, hoping this will help get me started on a healthier road. Wine and crisps are my downfall
40 in August so wanting to feel and look better by then!

Looking forward to getting started tomorrow.
I'm currently the heaviest I've ever been and really unhappy with myself.
I've done boot camp once before and had great initial success but fell off the rails following an illness and death in the family.

I've got the added incentive that I'm a bridesmaid in July and have an off the peg dress that I asked to be bought for me in one size too small (I know, I know but it seemed like a good idea at the time!)
I have to take said dress with me to a fitting to have the length adjusted a week on Friday and it doesn't do up at the back
I'm hoping that a 7lb or so loss by then should solve the problem, but I'm really embarrassed and annoyed with myself - especially as I've had the dress since just after Christmas.

@IStillMissBlockbuster Yes white wine vinegar is allowed. It's only balsamic vinegar that isn't.

Don't worry about the recipes with alcohol - after the first two weeks you'll be able to cook those.

I'd like to join in too please. This is day 8 for me today so great timing. It's worked for me before but the pounds crept back on. Booked a fab rental place for a week at the end of summer for all of us and adult children's other halves so I have an incentive.
