Morning Campers Flowers

As ever, here's the spreadsheet for all your confessions

Some interesting conversations last week, as well as some encouraging losses and NSVs. Glosses over all talk of poppadoms

I'm so pleased it's working so well for so many of you, but more particularly how well this WOE seems to be working in its broader, longer term sense. That's actually the critical thing for the future - finding a way to incorporate the low carb principles into how you eat for the rest of your life, while still having a life!

A difficult couple of days for me, as I'm off to Paris with work, so my meals are largely out of my control. Dinner at the hotel should be OK, but I have no idea what will happen at lunch time, as I'm stuck in a research facility, being catered for. And worse, Eurostar is on strike tomorrow, when I'm supposed to be coming home, so I have no idea if I'm in Paris for two or three days!!!!

Anyway, there are worse places to be stuck, I suppose Smile

Here's to a good week for us all - hope it's not too cold and windy wherever you are.

Ooh, fellow house of colour folks!

StarStarStarHalo

Yearerday’s salad was marvellous. Tried to recreate the Subway Italian BMT In salad form at home, and even though there’re loads of processed meats (salami, etc), it was such a flavour and fat explosion that it satiated me for ages.

Not for every day, or even every week.

Struggling personally, but not with the WOE. That’s all going well. Just need to figure out how to take a sabbatical from my family.

Actually, is that possible? Hmm

m0therofdragons · 13/03/2019 10:27

@Rshard that's a possibility. I had a couple of days off at Christmas but haven't had a week since October. Stupid late Easter means I'm not off until mid April. I have 1.5 weeks off then 2.5 in July/August. I need a Saturday morning in bed but that's not likely this weekend.

Rshard · 13/03/2019 11:21

Sounds a real possibility if you’ve not had a day off since Christmas @m0ther!

How do people know what season they are?

1stMrsF · 13/03/2019 13:27

Ooh these posts are getting me excited about buying new clothes when thinner (Autumn here) - my style analysis included body shape too (hourglass) and the reemergence of my waist has been a fabulous BC outcome. @Rshard you need an analysis - there are both big companies and independent colour analysts that do it. They basically drape fabrics around your face and some make you look fabulous and some close to death and then you find out which ones you should wear. It is brilliant as Brassica says because you can put everything together and you know things will suit you rather than just being a colour you like to look at.

After several days of sts I have lost another 1.4lbs and am (tantalizingly) within 0.4lbs of my next goal. It's really motivating me after a few weeks of apathy. And a NSV - am wearing a 'new' skirt today - been sitting in my wardrobe for ages, but didn't fit until now Grin

MrsKoala · 13/03/2019 14:40

Thanks all for the encouragement for the wedding invitation from hell. The needle and thread stuff is not for me. Far too frilly and pastel for me. I'm a cool winter so only wear bright colours. Also with my body shape I need simple tailoring and structure. I have bought this dress and that's as pastel and flouncy as I get. So I could wear that.

I am looking for a dress that says 'come on, it's been nearly a decade, i'm happy, your happy, can't we all move on and have a good time'. But I think that might be a tall order (unless I write it in sharpy across my arse) so I may just go with 'Fuck off if you can't be civil and wear one of these which I love. The wedding is a reg office and local hall/boozer so I don't need to be churchy and fragrant.

I went to the gym earlier and now cannot move my legs properly. I am helping at a year R trip to the zoo tomo so that will be fun. I've got to pack a lunch, so am going to try this courgette and rosemary bread and some cheese and salad.

I did the quiz , there’s no consultant near me

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 13/03/2019 15:36

Snap mrs1stf just put a coat on that buttons all the way to the knee. At the beginning of the year I could only comfortably get the first 2 buttons down up. Now it shockingly does up all the way down! So pleased.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 13/03/2019 15:38

Great dress mrsk and please do report back about the loaf.

Rshard · 13/03/2019 15:42

Thanks @firstmrsf and @doilooklikeatourist, I’ll have a look and report back.

Loving the nsv’s, it’s lovely to get back into clothes

1stMrsF · 13/03/2019 15:51

Well done @SlinkyDinkyDoo I want to try on my size 14 jeans but I'm scared...

m0therofdragons · 13/03/2019 16:02

I've drunk so much water today I've just walked to a different loo in my work building as it's getting embarrassing. I started drinking loads last night and am still constantly thirsty for water. It's weird.

I will wait for another few lbs off before trying my beloved dress. Hoping my Joules coat will fit more comfortably too. May try that tonight. Fingers crossed.

SummerSazz · 13/03/2019 16:14

@MrsKoala I'm a sultry winter and love teal, purple etc. I also cannot do lace or flounces so also like phase 8 and Hobbs. I think you are my taller twin

Was starving today after 30 mins Pilates, 1.5 hr hilly walk and 2 hours round town. I had my (previously breakfast) yoghurt in the car at 12.45 and then swam 1/2 mile and had a sauna. Made the mistake of going to the supermarket at that point 🙈. I was very tempted by some scotch eggs which were 10g carbs per 100 but then found some eggs and spinach and a small pack of almonds so scoffed those. Just home and eaten chorizo and cheese. Need to stop now!!

I did buy the kids some aunt Annie's churros and didn't have any so that's all good.

Just making Thai salmon noodles for the kids and I'll have Thai cauli cous cous with salmon. Can't wait!!

@1stMrsF you should try the jeans. I tried on one dress which I still can't get into but it was so close that it's definitely an incentive.

@BIWI Bonjour!!!!!

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 13/03/2019 17:44

Jeans! Jeans! Jeans! Jeans!

I have thought about getting my colours done but worry I'll be tild that all my favourites don't suit me. Ignorance is bliss and all that. Do you all still wear your 'not allowed' but loved colours for the psychological boost?

BrassicaBabe · 13/03/2019 18:18

Slinky there's no physiological boost when you look at colours with fresh eyes. I look terrible in black I've learned/realised. I even hate the cover up at the hairdressers now I know how bad I look in black! Shock

BrassicaBabe · 13/03/2019 18:19

I've had a hotel room picnic of salami, cheese, prawns and olives Grin on the back of a 22 hour fast. Wonder if I've over eaten yesterday and now today. Missing my daily weighing!!

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 13/03/2019 18:36

Belated check in to the thread as I've been away for a few days. I am on my way down, finally! 1.3lb off this week. Final push now...

SummerSazz · 13/03/2019 19:08

@SlinkyDinkyDoo I can wear black so I'm ok Grin. If you want a splash of your favourite colour but it's not one of your best then you can do as an accent - handbag/gloves or even skirt - just not recommended next to your face. I'm fine with all my colours although wearing forest green after years of green school and happy eater uniforms took a bit of coming round to.....

I have weird dimply fat on my legs Confused. I've always had some cellulite but this is more like a range of hills. Eek!! Luckily I bought a scrubbing mitt today so will attack the hills with that in the shower tomorrow. Also have loose skin which I've never had with weight loss before (despite lots of exercise, slow weight loss and having been a lower weight than I am now.

Must be age Sad

SummerSazz · 13/03/2019 19:09

Well done @UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea. I'm hoping for a step loss this week with IF

1stMrsF · 14/03/2019 07:09

Well the jeans did up! GrinMassive muffin top but we'll see what a few more weeks does!

Doilooklikeatourist · 14/03/2019 07:38

👍@MrsF ! Well done 👍victory
When I squeezed into my tight jeans , there was a whole Victoria Sandwich hanging over , not a muffin top !
Fell off the wagon big time yesterday , into a bottle of wine and a chocolate brownie
Back on it today , now have 6 weeks til we’re off to Barbados , have 6 lb to go ( how convenient 👍)

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 14/03/2019 08:53

haha to Victoria Sandwich. Congrats MrsF in a few weeks you'll be slipping them on with ease.

Barbados? How lovely! That's a great incentive.

Just boiling up a chicken carcass to make stock for soups. The smell is DIVINE and is there anything more heavenly than hot crispy chicken skin? So difficult to not hog it all myself last night Grin

1stMrsF · 14/03/2019 10:21

Thank everyone, the encouragement really helps! Holidays are a good incentive. We are just about to book a trip to New York in July for DH's big birthday. I'm imagining swanning around like SJP in tiny summer dresses...

SummerSazz · 14/03/2019 13:40

Afternoon all and Grin re muffins/cakes. My stomach has gone crepe paper on me which isn't so attractive Hmm.

Day 4 of intermittent fasting going well. Am 3lbs down on Monday so hoping for this to continue through to Monday. However have some friends staying for the weekend so I know wine will be involved. My willpower is crap so need to focus on the good scale results I've had and not to fuck it all up in a couple of days.

Re scales chat from a few days ago I have Fitbit scales which link to my phone so no escaping! It's nice to be able to look back and review the downward metrics whilst ignoring the upward elements in previous years

I'm off on a cruise in June - rather a way off to be an immediate incentive but it's certainly in the back of my mind.
