Morning Campers Flowers

As ever, here's the spreadsheet for all your confessions

Some interesting conversations last week, as well as some encouraging losses and NSVs. Glosses over all talk of poppadoms

I'm so pleased it's working so well for so many of you, but more particularly how well this WOE seems to be working in its broader, longer term sense. That's actually the critical thing for the future - finding a way to incorporate the low carb principles into how you eat for the rest of your life, while still having a life!

A difficult couple of days for me, as I'm off to Paris with work, so my meals are largely out of my control. Dinner at the hotel should be OK, but I have no idea what will happen at lunch time, as I'm stuck in a research facility, being catered for. And worse, Eurostar is on strike tomorrow, when I'm supposed to be coming home, so I have no idea if I'm in Paris for two or three days!!!!

Anyway, there are worse places to be stuck, I suppose Smile

Here's to a good week for us all - hope it's not too cold and windy wherever you are.

Thanks @mrskoala and excellent nsv’s!

BrassicaBabe · 12/03/2019 15:37

WTF was in the soup SadI'm bloated. It looked like flavoured water with green veg and julienned carrots plus some kind of "protein" Hmm. The carrots was probably only about 10 gramms.

m0therofdragons · 12/03/2019 16:19

Forgot my lunch so bought a salad bowl in m&s. I was planning to have sausages so it's not quite cutting it. Counting down until home time when I can cook my turkey with asparagus and baby spinach etc.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 12/03/2019 16:27

Can anyone recommend a way to sjuzz (sp?) up cauliflower rice? Can't have spicy at the moment as my stomach objects. I bought some of the microwave packets and am going to have it with chicken and greens.

What can I do with it to give it some oomph?

BrassicaBabe · 12/03/2019 17:18

Bugger. Got over hungry. Found a Lidl and bought a tray of sliced cheese and chorizo. Eaten 70%. Heading out for dinner in half an hour Hmm

BIWI · 12/03/2019 17:24

@SlinkyDinkyDoo how about making egg fried rice?

Make a paper thin omelette by frying one beaten egg, let it cool, and then roll up and slice into thin shreds

Chop a couple of large shallots (or more, depending on how much 'rice' you're making)

Get your wok really hot, add a good sloosh of whatever oil you're using (I like to use a mix of sesame and coconut oil), and the quickly stir-fry the shallots

When they're softened and starting to brown, chuck in the cauliflower rice and stir fry that too.

When it's cooked (only takes 3-4 minutes), add the shredded omelette, and then season with some soy sauce (to taste).

You could also add a handful of finely chopped spring onions, including the green part, when you're serving it, for extra 'bite' and also colour.

Yum! Good idea Biwi. I think I will add extra veg to that and stirfry the chicken in soy sauce, ginger and garlic. Off to do that now 😄

Siameasy · 12/03/2019 19:24

Mmmm that egg fried “rice”sounds great

Brassica maybe it was MSG or some sort of flour

MrsFiona well done on a stone - I’ve lost more or less the same. 10lb should be easily doable by Aug but God the loss has really slowed down now here!!!

m0therofdragons · 12/03/2019 19:24

Couldn't be bothered with giving dh extra carbs tonight so he had the same as me. He said it was really nice, then sat and ate a chocolate bar Grinwhile I drank water. Off for a run now.

Siameasy · 12/03/2019 19:27

I would like to report a FART!!! Cause-definitely a sausage!!

MrsTerry I agree. How is some rancid minging fake food in anyway enticing?! Home made Macaroni Cheese all day long home made birthday cake yes, Mr Kipling-zero appeal. Not a treat.
I enjoy chucking carbs away now lol

Hefzi · 12/03/2019 19:30

Congrats, you bunch of losers Grin - and especial thanks to Slink and tootstastic for ongoing inspiration Flowers

MrsKoala · 12/03/2019 20:00

I now have an extra incentive to lose the weight and keep it off. My best friend has set a date for his wedding (it was meant to be next year but given the circs they want it sooner rather than later) in June. This means my ex Husband and ex Best friend will be there along with all my other ex friends who ditched me when they got together. It's been 8 years and 3 babies since they last saw me and time hasn't been kind! I am looking forward to buying the most enormous hat I can find tho.

Siameasy · 12/03/2019 20:11

Great inventive MrsK. You will smash it!!
Im excited about buying a new dress for a wedding I’m going to in September. There’s a brand called Needle and Thread, absolutely beautiful dresses, often come up on EBay...I hope to have lost the arm pit fat by then

WHAT IS IT WITH ARMPIT/Side boob fat?!?

RobinHobb · 12/03/2019 20:34

Have been reading everyone's posts and catching up. It would have been week2 here but got some horrendous food poisoning from some curry on the weekend. Ended up not eating for almost 48hours and of course, v&d. Tired but functional now.
Have lost weight though but have broken low carb to eat some toast and a banana as feeling grim. Will try to go back to it by Thursday.

Siameasy · 12/03/2019 22:20

That’s understandable Robin you will be back on it in no time. Just concentrate on feeling bettter.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 12/03/2019 22:33

Hilarious siam to be announcing your fart.

I second Needle and Thread mrskoala not cheap but gorgeous. Fucking hell though, what a day that will be Flowers

m0therofdragons · 12/03/2019 23:25

Can I ask about mouth ulcers? I am prone to them, especially at Tom but hadn't had any for about a year. Since being on this diet they're much worse. Still seem linked to Tom but last month they were down my throat and this month, the side of my tongue (which is swollen all over). Should I introduce some carbs and if so what?

Siameasy · 13/03/2019 05:59

Well it’s such a rarity these days Slinky it’s an event!

M0ther that sounds horrible I was gonna say is it a virus because I had similar 2 years ago and it was a virus but that is weird the way it’s linked with TOM. Do you have heavy periods as iron deficiency can cause a sore tongue I think? Also, I don’t know if you drink it but Diet Coke (or probably the sweetener in it) gives me ulcers.

Doilooklikeatourist · 13/03/2019 07:38

@MrsKoala , No Pressure !
What an incentive to look amazing , to support your friend and to show your Ex
I like this website www.stories.com/en_gbp/clothing/dresses/midi-dresses.html I bought a couple of dresses from them last year , one for me to wear to DDs graduation

I’m completely failing at this Bootcamp , just can’t get into it , so annoying
I’m still in the 10s , and realistically only want to lose about 6 lb , but I’m in the lose one , gain one rollercoaster
Today will be better ( positive )

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 13/03/2019 08:09

I hate that rollercoaster tourist but at leadt you're not losing 1, gaining 2 which is my favourite trick.

📣 I am overweight! Grin I have officially moved out of the obese band on the nhs bmi calculator. I know bmi is a bit old hat but I'll take any positive I can. Determined to NEVER cross that line again.

Rshard · 13/03/2019 08:11

Could you be ‘run down’ @m0ther? That’s when I get them. I know you say you’re prone to them but if you’ve avoided for ages perhaps the reoccurrence with low carbing is a coincidence?

SummerSazz · 13/03/2019 08:11

@Doilooklikeatourist most of those dresses are spring/autumn colours and I'm a 'winter'. They are pretty though SmileSmile. I can wear frills or flounces but there are some nice midi dresses. Being short (ish) I fear they might be a bit tent like on me Blush.

Day 3 of intermittent fasting for me. I'm a stone off since jan but am 11.2 today (11.1 after Pilates!). I sooooooo want to get into the 10's soon 🤞

SummerSazz · 13/03/2019 08:13

@SlinkyDinkyDoo I'm overweight and trying desperately to move into 'normal' . If I can get into the 10's this should coincide.....

@MrsKoala no fireworks needed at that wedding!! You'll rock it x

Doilooklikeatourist · 13/03/2019 08:51

@Summer , I think I’m a winter too
I had a navy midi dress ( ankle length ) Sophie Raworth was wearing a red version of the dress on Chelsea flower show on the TV , for the summer , and a black / brown floral print for DDs graduation, last November
They do change the stock quickly , so it’s one to keep an eye on

BrassicaBabe · 13/03/2019 09:49

Ooh, fellow house of colour folks! I'm an autumn. I love the way knowing my colours has made shopping so much easier. I can go into a shop and quickly scan to see if there are any of my colours before wasting time looking at actual items. And now most of my clothes go together. Love it.
