I love this week - when we find out how much people have lost, and all those of you who haven't really believed it will work are proved wrong!

Here's the spreadsheet

I hope that the scales have been kind to you, or that your measurements have gone down and your clothes are feeling looser!

I look forward to hearing about everyone's progress.

Here's to a great week 2 as well

@BIWI ...you can see why I don't have alcohol in the house!

Because an inner voice will tell me "you're doing so much better than six months ago when you were necking a bottle and a half a day...gwarn, treat yourself!", I'm far better focussing on the weight impact in order to avoid it!

Anyway, definitely not having any.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 22/01/2019 12:53

You're on, @regularbutpanickingabit Grin

regularbutpanickingabit · 22/01/2019 13:04

Thank you Athelstane!

Nowlook - that’s my problem. Almost exactly. Ugh!

AandL · 22/01/2019 14:17

Oh girls i am sorry for the misery my scales has brought! But its only one data point, you look the same , and unless you write it on your forehead thats what the world sees, and you still made the same progress last week.
I look fwd to the day when my metabolic age matches my real age on it!! Or younger!!

nowlook · 22/01/2019 14:27

@AandL YES!! What fresh hell is that?

It's not your fault about the scales; at least I'm no longer deluding myself!

prettybird · 22/01/2019 14:30

@MostlyHungryAgain - yes you can join in. People jump in all the time - although it helps if you go back and read the Week 1 thread as it may well answer any questions you might have.

Hopefully, this Way of Eating will mean that you will need up change your user name Wink

Just ask @AthelstaneTheUnready if you want to be put on the spreadsheet, so that you can track your progress.

1stMrsF · 22/01/2019 14:55

Checking in. I think that my appetite is reducing this week. I brought some food to school today for breakfast/lunch and haven't eaten all of it.

B - 1 slice frittata as yesterday with a frankfurter (the worst kind of processed meat I know but in the fridge needing eating up and I hate wasting food) and mayo
L - 1/2 avocado, 1/2 slice frittata, chicken, salad leaves. Couldn't eat the other 1/2 frittata or another frankfurter
D - will be Pork medallions pan-fried with a shallot and creme fraiche sauce served with ts broccoli. Should have mushrooms in but I forgot to buy them Sad

Threeminis · 22/01/2019 15:01

Finally caught up!

Well done on some amazing losses everyone.

I'm only just having lunch now due to meetings etc at work.

B - mushroom and cheese omelette (I'm really forcing myself to have breakfast)
L - leftover mince and mash cauliflower
D - have homemade burgers in the fridge but as I'm eating lunch so late might keep them for tomorrow.

Water 1.5l before work and three small glasses since I've been here

Threeminis · 22/01/2019 15:02

Ahh. Pressed too soon
@1stMrsF your dinner sounds delicious

bluelefant · 22/01/2019 15:29

It took me a while again to catch up with a thread but stuck at work...
Updated the spreadsheet as well and happy to report 2.5 lb loss this week. This could have been much better if not the Saturday lovely dinner at friends washed out with a bottle of Cava Blush
Ah well I need to have some social life after all and we hardly ever go out or see anyone, last time we met with these friends it was in August last year.
I know excuses excuses Grin
I am a bit envious of all the big losses and I also seen -5lbs off on Sat morning.
I keep telling myself that I can not beat myself up for spending great time with my friends,it's just the timing was bad with the BC already started.

prettybird · 22/01/2019 15:30

I have a nearly 30 year old chicken brick from Habitat which is sturdier and slightly more compact than the new one. It is well seasoned Grin It fits into a corner of a cupboard with the top half tucked upside down into the bottom half and the carving board balanced on top of it.

It gets used at least once a month. You can use it for meats other than chicken, but I've never done so (really should give it a go Wink).

I've squeezed birds of about 1.55kg into it - but that really is the limit.

bluelefant · 22/01/2019 15:37

Really intrigued by the chicken brick thing Wink
Will have to ask my hubby whether he ever heard of such thing...

BIWI · 22/01/2019 15:38

@MostlyHungryAgain You're very welcome to join in!

prettybird · 22/01/2019 15:39

If you do get a chicken brick, don't bother cooking it on the fan setting of your oven (if you have a choice) because the fact that it is an enclosed container means that the fan makes no difference.

BIWI · 22/01/2019 15:40

@condamine and @nowlook - don't worry. It's not the actual weight that's the issue, it's the loss that you're counting. It might be disappointing if they show you as a heavier weight when you step on them compared with your old scales, but please don't despair! Just measure the loss next week.

OP posts:
venusandmars · 22/01/2019 15:49

@nowlook my digital scales tell me I'm 4k lighter if I weigh myself in the garage (uneven floor, I think, but it's always a boost when my weight loss stalls Grin)

When I was lc last year I used keto sticks to monitor my state, and if I had any alcohol at all it immediately threw me out of keto. So a double whammy - a load of empty calories, plus I stopped burning up fat. It just wasn't worth it. Not for one miserly glass!

wasabiaddiction · 22/01/2019 18:38

Somehow I have reached 17st.

Been low carving since start of Jan and lost 8 lb. and have been lurking here.

I have a long long way to go and probably have to do this for over a year.

So just a question on bootcamp - they last 8 weeks and then what? How long is the pause between this and the next boot camp? And how am I supposed to manage in between without this thread to lurk on!

nowlook · 22/01/2019 18:50

Evening all!

I'm back from the birthday tea and I did it! Yay! Two glasses of Strathmore to the good. I won't lie to you, the first one was miserable, but I forgot about it after that.

Today's food:
B: leftover supper of homemade steak mince burger with shallots
L: Parma ham and cream cheese roll-ups with watercress
D: Waygu steak burger topped with camembert and bacon with sides of button mushrooms and green salad.

This mini-victory has set me up well for the next couple of days away with work.

Thanks for the support when I was twitching!

Mimosa1 · 22/01/2019 18:59

@nowlook what's Stathmkre?

@wasabiaddiction welcome! People usually post on a maintenance / in between boot camp thread but @BIWI and @AthelstaneTheUnready don't run it as they understandably need a bit of a break in between

nowlook · 22/01/2019 19:04

@Mimosa1 Sorry for creating suspense...it's just a brand of water manufactured by AG Barr. I work in bottled water, so anything you want to know, just shout up Wink Grin

SheldonTheWonderShlong · 22/01/2019 19:18

'I don't go to the bar' 😂

Today:
B - Buttery scramled eggs and ham
L - had to dash out unexpectedly so made do. Packet chicken. Nice though.
D - turkey meatballs and 'courgetti' (and butter)

Finally got round to nuking the babybel. Reminded me of cheese straws a bit.

Haven't done well on the greens today but will make up for it tomorrow.

Doilooklikeatourist · 22/01/2019 19:24

Back from my lunch out 😀
There was a salad on the menu , but it was beetroot, goats cheese and candied walnut , so I had a flatbread ( left the flatbread ) stuffed with chicken thigh and streaky bacon with spinach , with a side of coleslaw , 2 black coffees , in the interest of customer research I asked for cream on the side , and it wasn’t available , but the coffee was mellow and very nice anyway and I think I chose the best meal possible

2 of the friends commented on my weight loss 👍but one of them has given up smoking after about 40 years , so I think that’s an even better health benefit

Had leftover pork with coconut and ginger for dinner , yep , it’s even nicer the next day !

Back on the strict very strict Bootcamp in the morning

Off to make some herb tea , and watch the television awards 👍

BIWI · 22/01/2019 19:27

@wasabiaddiction welcome - and glad you've stopped lurking!

Bootcamp is 10 weeks long. There are lots of people who want to carry on after that, because they have more weight to lose than they can expect to lose in that period of time, so I always keep the last week's chat thread going (and then start a new one if that one gets full!) so there will always be someone around to chat with. As @Mimosa1 says, there's no spreadsheet, and I don't 'run' it as such not that I can run anything here, it's worse than trying to herd cats but we keep the chat going.

BIWI · 22/01/2019 19:30

Well done, @nowlook! I went out to lunch today and 'enjoyed' sparkling water with my food as well. I was a bit envious of the table next to me who were drinking Champagne, but once we'd got chatting, I completely forgot about that.

And well done to you too, @Doilooklikeatourist - sounds like you made wise choices there.

I also wave £20 notes at people when it's my round, whilst remaining seated. Selective in my notion of equality.
