January 2019 Low Carb Bootcamp - Week 1

Well happy new year!

Here's a sparkling, brand new, Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for us all to get this new Bootcamp off to a good start.

Remember, you don't have to be on the spreadsheet if you don't want to - and if you don't want to declare your actual weight, you can index it - which means that your starting 'weight' is 100. Then for every pound you lose, you take off one. So if you lose 4lbs in week 1, then your 'weight' starting for week 2 will be 96.

There are over 170 people signed up, so the thread will move very quickly - but please, please, please read all the posts. Don't just jump on and post your own stuff without reading what other people have posted. That's especially the case if you're posting with a question - read the thread to make sure it hasn't already been asked.

Have a good look at the spreadsheet and all the tabs at the bottom, as there's a huge amount of information there - not just the rules, but also the list of vegetable carb counts, and some really interesting reading/videos too.

I hope everything there is clear, but if not - just shout.

Looking forward to getting going!

My solution to evening boredom-induced munchies? Go to bed at 9am. Night all Grin

CeciliaMcFlange · 20/01/2019 21:26

Morning everyone - I've just weighed in - It's Monday morning here and am down 3lbs this week, I'm stoked!

Looking forward to seeing all the losses on the spreadsheet this week.

SheldonTheWonderShlong · 20/01/2019 21:39

Congrats McFlange

Well done Cecilia.

I made unstuffed cabbage rolls (only used one tin of tomatoes and not the tomato sauce) and it was a big hit
for all the family.

MrsKoala · 20/01/2019 21:54

Thanks for the reassurance @BIWI and the suggestion @Hefzi . I made myself egg mayo and some ham and a slice of cheddar and an avocado. I don't have any salad stuff in (shopping tomo) so it was slim pickings. But I felt full and happy enough with my lunch today (unlike yesterday when I was a right moany cow!). Today has been:

B - 3 egg, spinach and cheese omelette.
L - as above.
D - Roast gammon, roast swede, leek and cauli cheese and steamed broccoli.

I'm not sure if I've lost any weight yet. I feel flatter on the stomach but that's about all I can notice. A friend who I haven't seen since November asked if i'd lost a lot of weight as I looked much slimmer, so fingers crossed for the morning.

Condamine · 20/01/2019 22:01

That's great Cecilia. I'm so excited to weigh in tomorrow.

I've really enjoyed this week and it's been so motivating reading everyone's posts.
Hope you all get great losses.

unexpected I know you mean pm, but bed at 9 am sounds pretty lush to me! Just made some pate. It is a recipe igot from the river cottage baby and toddler book (!) it is just chicken livers (I can get organic coz I live in the arse end of farming nowhere!!), celery, red onion. Just make sure to soak the livers in milk for a few hrs (I do overnight) before frying onion and celery in butter. Add livers and fry till cooked then whizz in a blender. You would prob find on line. Lush!

Really pleased with today,
B: scrambled eggs with cheddar
L: burger wrapped in lettuce, 2 coffees
D: shepherds pie, ( potatoe top removed), green beans, purple broccoli and Owen roasted kale. Few spoonfuls of FF yoghurt
E: Jillian Michaels did 40 mins of her 5x10min body transformation

I’ve got holiday coming up in 4 weeks, so trying to tone up as well as loose some weight. I’ve been doing Jillian’s Shred on/off for about 2 years, still my favourite excercise.

BIWI · 20/01/2019 23:11

I'm not quite sure what's happening tomorrow morning, and when I'll be around to post, so I'm starting the week 2 chat thread a bit early

Which means all our Oz posters can put their results down now!

Here's the new thread

Find the Week 2 thread (link near the end of this thread) and jump in Flowers

....but have a read of this thread too as many of the questions and issues you may have in your personal "Week 1" may well have been answered/addressed. Smile
