Morning all

Remember that this week (along with last week) is infamous for seeing little or no weight loss!

Don't change what you're doing, just keep on keeping on and things will start moving again soon.

Here's the spreadsheet

Hope you all have a good week

Thanks @iamnotacerealkiller, @boldly and @tiredofit for your replies.

I have been a bit lower so I now I can do it but I think I’m getting a bit too fixated on the numbers. Especially that single digit 9, which I know is silly.

bluelefant · 05/11/2018 11:51

No loss this week.Even worse-I managed to put back a 1lb I lost last week.
The reason for that must be that I was snacking more than I should before my period.
Also have to admit to drinking a bottle of Prosecco on Sat @MaudesMum 😬
An excuse for that was to celebrate the end of Sober October!
I am determined not to give up and be extra good this week.

blackteaplease · 05/11/2018 12:10

Hi all, a boozy weekend wiped out last week's loss so I'm sts again. Chicken salad for lunch today and beef stew for dinner. Koko everyone.

prettybird · 05/11/2018 12:34

Going to weigh in tomorrow as I want to allow the impact of not enough water over the weekend --and a small
portion of apple crumble at my dad's last night-- to work through my system Blush

I was away up in Aberdeen seeing ds and we ate out on Friday and Saturday nights. Had a glass of wine both nights and chose low carb options (duck leg the first night, steak with peppercorn sauce the second) but I think there was sugar in the duck sauce and the halloumi fries had been dipped in a sesame seed batter - but I think there was flour too (and possibly flour in the peppercorn sauce, along with the cream, and sugar in the dressing).

Ds and his flatmates and teammates appreciated all the baking and tablet making I did Smile (And I didn't eat any of it Grin)

I've got one NSV to report: if mentioned a wee while ago that I'd managed to get my engagement ring off fortunately I'm feeling more positive about dh now than I was a couple of years ago when I wasn't able to get it off Wink. Anyway, last night in the bath I was able to get my eternity ring off as well, so I was able to swap them around, which I've been wanting to do for years and years Smile, back to the order I used to have them.

Mandelinka · 05/11/2018 12:38

Hi everyone, congrats on the losses and KOKOing!
I’m 1lb lighter, that’s 5 lbs in total.

Justmuddlingalong · 05/11/2018 13:17

I'm at my target! 😁 I had snuck a few lbs on since the end of the last bootcamp, so I'm chuffed to be back at my 9.5st happy weight. Was at a party at the weekend, saw lots of friends I've not seen in ages. Lapped up the compliments about how well I'm looking and ignored the comments about being too skinny. 🙄 The buffet was fantastic, but I swerved it, only pinching a single chip from DP's plate. I'm sleeping great, I feel more energetic, my skins better and I have a wardrobe bursting with clothes I can wear. What's not to love about this WOE? Hope everyone has a great week. KOKO.

Onlyaprawn · 05/11/2018 13:17

One pound down for me which I'm happy with. Feel like I'm getting into the swing of this WOE now and feeling very motivated. I am perimenopausal and realised yesterday that I haven't had a single hot flush since I started bootcamp so that's a bonus. Anyone else noticed this?

ShagMeRiggins · 05/11/2018 14:17

One pound down but struggling. Don’t know why—just really lacking motivation. I am so tired and going through an unusually negative period of hating my body and hating myself for allowing it to get this way, even though I’ve lost several stones with this delicious WoE.

I feel I’ve let myself down by gaining back from my lowest after an earlier bootcamp. Feeling overwhelmed, but it’s heartening to hear the great progress you’re all making and coming to this thread always gives me a lift. KOKO x

prettybird · 05/11/2018 14:22

Onlyaprawn - your body will be releasing oestrogen along with its fat cells, so that might be balancing your hormone levels, hence the reduction in hot flushes.

tootstastic · 05/11/2018 14:35

@Justmuddlingalong I can't wait to be where you are. I bet it feels fantastic and just shows it can be done....well done!

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 05/11/2018 15:20

1lb off for me, not bad ate out twice on Saturday,
Liver, Bacon and onions - no mash or gravy - veg option Carrots..... skipped 90% of those

Second Steak, Beetroot, swede chips( 2 of them), 1 Brussel sprout cut in half. which was lucky I had extra veg as I didn't have the mash.

So bit high on the protein and beets and carrots bit Carby but 1 down.

Got indoor bike trainer set up this weekend, -3c currently so winter is coming. Made the chart to tick off, I need to be accountable visually otherwise feel no one cares so why should i. Put the chart were family can see and then I have to account for it even if they don't mention it.
Target is a healthy BMI which is only a guide for range. As a measurement that has no bases in real scientific individual health assessment. ( muscle, bone density, ( boob size in you ladies) all effect weight so going on height /weight is not a good idea.

So KOKO,
Week 1 of 6 only 6 weeks to do on plan.
You all can do it, focus on Day 1 ( today ) everyday is a new success opportunity. so unless you have a time machine and can go back and slap that carb out of your hand don't eat and don't beat yourself up after the fact. Move on.

bye.

adaisy1394 · 05/11/2018 15:23

No loss here but I fell off the wagon spectacularly at the weekend - I'm going to put it down to family bereavement (the stress of) and the logistics of being here there and everywhere and not being able to make good choices with limited options.

Must try harder. Will stick to it this week for sure. At least there has been no gain.

TMI but had anyone had issues with being a bit backed up since starting? if so, how do you mitigate this? I haven't done a number 2 since Friday AM so I cant imagine this will be helping the number on the scales??

adaisy1394 · 05/11/2018 15:25

Today back on the horse:

B - Chicken Breast, Mini Pepperami

L - Chicken Breast, buttery veg, celeriac mash

S - Cherry tomatoes, cucumber, 2 slices wafer thin ham and babybel

D - Carb free chicken lasagne - using carrot ribbons instead of pasta and using the remaining chicken from my roast yesterday.

Rshard · 05/11/2018 15:25

Well done @justmuddling!!

prettybird · 05/11/2018 15:45

adaisy - yes, some people do sometimes have problems with bowel movements - but also people find that they go less frequently without any problem Smile (I like to think of as because we are eating more effectively, so that the body needs to eliminate less Wink).

More magnesium apparently helps (there's a particular form of it that is the best way for the body to absorb it but I can't remember which one; I seem to do ok with the "ordinary" tablets and the occasion bath with Epsom Salts, but there again, I've never suffered from constipation per se).

If you are uncomfortable - as opposed to just not needing to go as often - then I believe that celeriac has an explosive effect on some people not me Wink, or add extra physillium husk to your food or, as a last resort, have some sugar free sweets (I believe that Thorntons Sugar Free Toffees can be very effective Shock).

But probably just as important as a long term WoE is to eat plenty of veg Smile

Rshard · 05/11/2018 16:13

Is here anything that could kick-start your motivation @shagme? An event? An item of clothing?

An incentive would probably do me good at the moment!

Collectorofcookbooks · 05/11/2018 17:05

Delighted to report I’m 1lb down, despite a couple of slips.

Firmly back on the wagon now.

Breakfast - boiled eggs and salmon
Lunch - leftover prawn and spinach curry
Dinner - courgetti carbonara with salad

FinallyHere · 05/11/2018 17:15

@ferrier

So if I had poached eggs on toast before, what would it be with now.

I like spinach with eggs, poached or scrambled or in an omelette. Tasty with a drop of butter and (ahem) helps keep me regular too.

ShagMeRiggins · 05/11/2018 17:31

Is here anything that could kick-start your motivation @shagme**

Well, if someone could send my husband and children away until Christmas Day, that would be a start, Rshard. Hmm

I’ve bought into a business franchise over the summer and have started seeing clients since September (ssssh...it’s House of Colour and I absolutely love it), but I’ve gone from my normal daily domestic/mum tasks to all of that plus working. So it’s difficult letting go/cutting corners with family life to make enough time for business, let alone ensuring I make time to get my proper food and exercise.

Don’t get me wrong—I’m not really going off piste. I’m more in maintenance mode but should be using this bootcamp opportunity to absolutely rock it!

I also understand an awful lot of you have been juggling family and work so not saying it’s harder for me. I admire you all. It’s the transition from one to the other I’m struggling with.

By the way, I do have an incentive—there’s a special birthday party for a dear friend coming up on the 23 November, and there a LRD I could wear but want to look amazing in, and it’s just a few pounds in the right places that would make the difference between hiding and shining.

Getting it out helps. Now I’m off to make celeriac remoulade to go with the slow cooked pulled pork for tonight’s dinner (don’t worry, no bbq sauce in the pork!)

Thanks for replying—now how can I help motivate you?

Iamnotacerealkiller · 05/11/2018 17:38

@Grah0SoontobeaFitty

Isn't it week 1 of 7? We are at the beginning of week 4 so still got...

week4
week5
week6
week7
week8
week9
week10

so 7 weeks.

Rshard · 05/11/2018 18:01

Sounds like you’ve a lot going on @shagme!

As for motivating me - this thread does it to be honest! I think I just need to have a stern word with myself and koko of course!!

Doilooklikeatourist · 05/11/2018 18:53

Made myself a lovely dinner , sort of followed a recipe 😀
Made a cauliflower base , then sweated some spinach , and whizzed that with some Philly , an egg , and salt and pepper
Topped with some crumbled feta , and baked in oven
I had it with some salad leaves , half a tomato and some mushrooms cooked in butter
Was lovely

FuriousFifties · 05/11/2018 20:02

Only a small loss but it's a loss so happy with that. I've managed to lose 4.8lb overall. It's really helped by plotting it in my health data. A sharp fall and then a meandering path but it's heading down and it helps keep me motivated.
onlyaprawn I'm in the depths of menopause, still getting flushes but I think not quite so many at the moment. However I've not had any alcohol, sadly these days just looking at a glass of wine leaves me looking like a beetroot.

CodLiverOil556 · 05/11/2018 20:38

I've put on 0.4lbs which I'm extremely happy with...my scales measure body fat and I'm down 2% so overall going down the way. My shape is changing and clothes are getting looser.

How are people doing IF coping? I'm skipping breakfast and not feeling hungry til around 2pm so thought I might try some long fasts to see how I cope.

Well done to everyone who's lost on this notoriously hard week...fingers crossed for some massive whooshes over the next few weeks. Keep going you marvellous boot campers

tootstastic · 05/11/2018 21:15

Tried the courgette lasagne tonight, loved it!Prep was really easy and plenty left over for another meal. Would def recommend.

Something strange happened today....
I missed lunch and didn't even realise until about 4.30pm. By then, I thought I may as well wait for dinner at 6. That literally never happens to me, I usually have food on the brain. This WOE rocks!
