Morning all

Remember that this week (along with last week) is infamous for seeing little or no weight loss!

Don't change what you're doing, just keep on keeping on and things will start moving again soon.

Here's the spreadsheet

Hope you all have a good week

Ooh @oldbirdy that cheddar and chorizo bake sounds amazing! Think a trip to Sainers may be on the cards...

I'm sneaking back in after getting very lost at the end of Week 1! Total chaos, bad cash flow and poor planning got the best (worst?) of me. But I've started this week as though it's the first and have made some tasty treats to get me back in the fold.
Big stick treatment anticipated and understood!!

@reddA Shock nooooo

Does anyone know about carbs in the sugar coated ibuprofen tablets and tyrozets throat lozenges. we only have the sugar coated ones in and i have a bastard cold! the tyrozet i thought would be a better choice then the boiled sweet type lozenges and work better too but im having one now and it does taste really sweet. i might just have to suck it up (:)) and try to do without them as much as i can.

Ugh, I feel your pain, cerealkiller, I have the full blown sinus/laryngitis thing going on and am not very with it. Am eating well because I need to, to get better, but am not caviling at a fisherman's friend or ten. Breathing is more important than glucose at this point.

Ok day for me too. My weight's been the same for 4 days in a row now, so think I'm having a slow down with it being week 4. Still need to drink more water though...!

B: Homemade pork and veg burger (leftovers)
L: Another pork an veg burger and some broccoli & cauliflower soup with grated cheese mixed in.
D: 2 bratwurst sausages (seem to be even lower carb than normal sausages!) with mushrooms and an egg.
S: none yet, but I've hard boiled a few eggs, so might have one mashed with mayo if I feel hungry later.

@Littleorangetree
Stayed the same for 4 days - wow. I barely get the scale to stay the same getting on and off and back on. Takes 4-5 attempts to get a duplicate number. 1st duplicate number is the one I use as the recorded figure for the day.

I work from home so can weigh multiple times a day, seen as low as 212 and as high as 216 so far this week.
The 212 was in the evening,
as I was getting changed for the indoor training ride thought I'd see a before and after weight - the after 1 hr training ride and sweating buckets and drinking 750ml of water was 215.8. yeah gained 3lb
.
Do you weigh at the same time everyday, wearing the same clothes in the same spot as well?

The fact I saw a 212, lowest in months, means to me I'm losing fat but retaining water and probably over doing the carbs in the veg portion again. Half a cabbage a day isn't too much to eat. Coleslaw - Steamed or wrapped around something as a roll. But suppose it does mount up.
Portion Control. Grah - must buy smaller bowls. Grin

b - 0
L - Chicken - cheese - Kimchi - Homemade Coleslaw - Lettuce wraps.
S - 1/2 Chicken and Stir-fry frozen veg - Kale, broccoli, Cauli, bamboo shoots red peppers and shredded CABBAGE.

@Stuntnun the 24 hours fasting is that like following the OMAD as per this [[https://www.ayurtimes.com/one-meal-a-day-diet-omad-diet/

Evening all, just catching up. Survived various meals out for dh’s birthday with varying success but have managed a lb off this week.
Yesterday and today’s menu much the same...
B: eggs scrambled with butter
L: chicken drumsticks with cheesy leeks
D: yesterday chicken wings, mayo and salad; tonight pork steak with kale, spinach and a creamy mustard sauce
S: very much reduced over the last few days which is a good sign that I’m very into bc now. Had some yogurt with cinnamon this evening but that’s about it for the last 2 days.

Good to hear everyone’s losses and inspirational stories - hopefully I’ll have my own at some point 😁

Dh bought rolls for dc and I've not touched them. This is not easy for me but I'm so pleased I've managed it.

I have a black tie dinner on Friday so that's not ideal but I'll be really good the rest of the day and I'm not drinking. First 2 weeks are alway the hardest for me so that's my short term goal.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty I always weigh first thing in the morning before breakfast, with no clothes on. My scales seem to be very stable (don't know if they're accurate though!). They always give the same reading if you weigh yourself repeately. I've put on a pound since yesterday though, which is a bit annoying as I've been sticking to bootcamp closely with no cheating - probably having too much veg!! Grin

Hopefully it's just the typical week 4 stall and it will start coming off again soon. I'm not too fussed at the moment as I'm still feeling pretty motivated.

I have had to go down a notch on my belt though, which is encouraging!

What's eveyone up to today?

I also weigh every morning, after the loo and before getting dressed. It does vary a few ounces if I get on and then off again, but less than half a lb.

I'm feeling good at the moment and my resolve seems stronger than on previous diets. I'm even tentatively wondering whether there's any hope of me continuing over Christmas (I know!) and beyond. Well, until I get all the weight off and I have a lot to lose...it might take until this time next year. Would that even be possible? I'm worried that if I stop before Christmas I'll struggle to clamber back on the wagon. Does anyone else with a lot to lose worry about this?

I'm not sure what feels so different this time, but it really feels like this could be the beginning of me getting all the weight off once and for all. I just need to work out how on earth I can do it, but just plodding along until it's all off seems like the best idea for now.

All your stories have been so inspiring, so I'm going to start by being honest with you lot (and myself!) about just how much I have to lose. I started bootcamp by putting 100 on the spreadsheet for my starting weight, as it just felt too scary and exposed, but now I think it might help me to look at the bigger picture (excuse the pun) and put my actual weight down. The actual figure was 262 lbs I'm going to try to alter it on the spreadsheet now.

Will make a vat of low carb soup to keep me on the straight and narrow

D Salmon and cauliflower rice , courgettes and mushrooms, creamy sauce
Try and stay off the wine , and go to bed early

@AthelstaneTheUnready I'm sorry to be a pain, could I call for your help with the spreadsheet? I've altered my starting weight and subsequent weigh-ins, but it thinks I've lost the original 100lb starting figure. I can't see the 'C' column. I think if you can change that column to 262 instead of 100, it should put it right. Thanks v much.

Another one who weighs first thing, without clothes.

There was a lot of discussion around Christmas this time last year @tootastic. People had different approaches to suit them and any plans etc. Also the last thread continues for support so there'll be folk around.

I planned a couple of days off, it turned into more like a week but I be stricter this year - fingers crossed! There is usually a boot camp in January too, at least there was in 2018.

toostastic, after my first bootcamp, I found that some of the changes stuck. Bad habits have a way of creeping back in, but when I'm deciding what to eat, it's not going to be a big bowl of pasta any more, because that no longer looks like a proper meal to me.

I don't claim to be the best at this WOE, but it does feel like I've changed some of my tastes and habits for good.

@Rshard a week isn't too bad over Christmas, you did well there. I fear I wouldn't be able to make it back at all. I might have to cling tightly to the last thread on this bootcamp, then a bootcamp in jan would be great.

@bibliomania I hope I can stick to some of these good habits like you have. I feel better than I have in ages and finally have some clarity about losing all my weight. Fingers crossed it lasts!

@bibliomania is right, bad habits can easily creep back in and they are hard to break in the first place I find.

I’m finding my perception of certain foods now really helps me stick to this way of eating. Pasta (white especially) just seems like filler of little nutritional value now. Why did I ever think a mountain of pasta with sauce and a sprinkling of veg was a good meal?

A major benefit is not feeling hungry all the time. I can easily skip a meal or two without feeling like I’m going to keel over or getting irritable.

I’m planning 2-3 days off-plan at Christmas but will combine with longer times between meals to mitigate it a bit. No mindless snacking on chocolates and nuts. Grin

tootstatic well done! It took me a while to really embrace this woe and I was also embarrassed to admit by real weight, I even massaged the figures a bit in my first bc Blush and had to give myself a good talking to about the pointlessness of that approach! I am the queen of convincing myself that something is true or not to suit my agenda at the time. Like, “I’m not that fat”, “the scales are probably wrong”, “this certain food isn’t that bad”, “I haven’t eaten that much”.... it goes on and on but I really think that this woe is helping me to slowly shift my mindset and to finally start to be honest with myself about stuff.

Sorry slight tangent there....what I wanted to say is welcome and it sounds like you’re doing brilliantly so far xx

tootstastic - re Christmas - it depends on whether you are an Abstainer or a Moderator.

I'm a Moderator - but even then, I find I can cope with "eating mindfully" for a couple of days, but longer than that and it's definitely a slippery slope Blush

I allow myself one roast potato on Christmas Eve (when we have our main Christmas Dinner Danish custom , along with a portion of the Danish Christmas Rice Pudding (a sort of sweet rice risotto with chopped almonds and one whole one, and whipped cream folded through it) and then maybe another small roast potato for our Christmas Day Christmas Dinner (roast pheasant with a cranberry jus) and a small amount of traditional Christmas pudding (served with a large amount of whipped cream/custard mixture).

But it is really easy to slip into "one more mince pie" and you need to develop strategies. I make loads of very nice mince pies - but personally, don't like them hot I'm weird , so I freeze all the mince pies so that they have to be reheated to be served. Therefore I don't want one Grin

You also need to watch the cashews. They are the carbiest of nuts Blush

tootstatic I'm also worrying about the festive season. I feel really motivated this time and have managed to stick to this WOE well so far, but I'm worried about not being able to get back on the wagon or in the right frame of mind if I stop. I think I need to make a proper plan and decide which days I'm going to have 'off' and then give myself a really bloody good talking to after them to get back on track!! I think having a bootcamp in January will help to make me be accountable and not just give up (for the millionth time!). I may also need BIWI to boot me up the arse!! Grin

I think I might be an abstainer prettybrid, but want to develop my ability to be a moderator! It's just blimmin' food - I need to get over it and not let it be so important to me Grin!
