Welcome everyone. We have over 150 people signed up this time, so it's going to be pretty busy, and the initial chat thread is going to be very fast-moving!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to post your starting weight.

Remember, you don't have to input your actual weight if you don't want to - you can index it, which means starting at 100 and then for every pound you lose, you take off a point.

If your name isn't on the spreadsheet, don't panic! Just add your name to the bottom, and then the lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready will re-alphabetise the list.

If you're on the spreadsheet and you don't want to be, don't worry - just don't enter any info, and then you'll be deleted after the first couple of weeks.

That's a good idea @Justmuddlingalong didn't think of that!

prettybird · 18/10/2018 17:55

I keep a pint glass on the island unit in the kitchen or beside my computer and drink from it as often as I can. I find it easier to count that - especially as I make every 2 one an "electrolyte-ish" one (with a few shakes of Lo-Salt and a squeeze of lemon juice).

Peaches2018 · 18/10/2018 18:07

@prettybird Lo salt in water? Lemon yes but salt? Why if you don't mind me asking

prettybird · 18/10/2018 18:10

Because it's an electrolyte drink - supplementing salts (like potassium) that you need, especially on this way of eating (and especially given that you can't eat bananas Wink). A couple of shakes and you barely notice it.

Peaches2018 · 18/10/2018 18:15

That's makes sense thanks definitely try that especially with sparkling water instead of the low cal sodas I've had

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 18/10/2018 18:44

@AthelstaneTheUnready re-using the cup as in
1st Cup Coffee with cocoa butter & butter blitzed in blender
2nd Cup just Black coffee
3rd Cup just Black coffee
Re-using cup keeps the flavour hints, without adding more calories allowing more fat ( flavour) in the food.

BIWI · 18/10/2018 18:58

@Butterfly44 have you tried the rice? I'm a bit put off for some reason!

OP posts:
Littleorangetree · 18/10/2018 19:02

Just overdid the pork belly we had for dinner - my son decided it was too fatty and didn't like it so I ate his as well as my own...old habits die hard!! Feel a bit yuck now.
Does anyone else have issues with portion control? I'm hoping that eventually I won't feel like overeating if I stick to this diet.

Apart from that, thinkgs have been ok (stil need to up the water though).

It's really useful for have this thread for support Smile!

BIWI · 18/10/2018 19:16

If you're eating enough fat you should find it very satiating, so you won't be able to eat as much!

But yes, you definitely do need to keep an eye on your portion sizes

Littleorangetree · 18/10/2018 19:33

Thanks BIWI. I think after a while my apetite will reduce naturally because the food is richer. I think I'm just used to eating big bowls of carby foods like pasta, but if I overeat with this WOE it just leads to me feeling a bit sick! Grin

Spiderkitty · 18/10/2018 19:42

I've tried the rice BIWI and I really didn't like it! I found the texture really odd.

I forgot lunch so ended up with an odd combination from the butchers of pork scratchings and a piece of ham, the village shop only had sandwiches and pasties. I won't forget next time!

B: Greek yoghurt
S: Piece of cheese
L: Pork scratchings and ham
D: Cottage pie with swede mash on top and cauliflower.
Had 3 litres of water too.

Butterfly44 · 18/10/2018 19:50

@BIWI I haven't tried the rice... Tried their spaghetti with bolognaise think I'd rather go without.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 18/10/2018 19:58

Ahhh, so keeping the scrapings, Grah, gotcha.

For water, I find drinking out of a smaller bottle easier than looking at a large one. So I have a 500ml bottle at work - have one when I get in, one mid-morning after a coffee, one after lunchtime, and one after a mid-afternoon tea. Which means I'm 2L up before I even get home.

Butterfly44 · 18/10/2018 20:02

Re portion sizes...My fitness pal is great for keeping track of daily nutrient intake, but for something visual try the Carbs and Cals app. Attached as an example. We have the book at home and it's quite enlightening to what you eat portion wise. My 12 year old is Type 1 diabetic so always measuring carbs in this house!

Laska5772 · 18/10/2018 20:17

I know pretty, I know (this is my 2nd bootcamp ) but I really didnt fancy anything at all much ..

The only good thing is that I'm not starting from scratch and in between bootcamps I've been sticking to the plan ( except wine ) and 2 small bread slip ups f so i am pretty much fat adapted .

But yes, NO fruit!

MumOfAPickle · 18/10/2018 21:08

Thanks biwi I’ll give them a try.
Food today has been good. I’m feeling different already, after only 4 days I’m sure my tummy is a little smaller - some of my waistbands feel just the tiniest bit looser!

B: egg muffins
L: chick & mush soup
D: cheese & mushroom omelette
S: mozzarella balls, 2 rollitos, Greek yog in a bit

Hot t bone steak sounds amazing grah!

WheelyCote · 18/10/2018 21:37

Little another one here who struggles with portion control😁 even when I'm stuffed

Doilooklikeatourist · 18/10/2018 21:40

I feel I’m doing ok. Have a headache and a bit of a churning tummy , so I had an apple 🍎 whuich I know isn’t allowed this week
B 2 scrambled eggs in butter
L Veg soup with a spoonful of double cream added
D Pork with roasted cauliflower , courgettes and mushrooms
Snack Port Salut ,
No wine !
Usually Thursday is when the weekend starts , but I’ve had a 75cl bottle of sparkling water instead 😇

WheelyCote · 18/10/2018 21:43

Starting to find I'm picking

Got to dinner. Made my teens chorizo in tomatoe sauce with spaghetti. Whilst cooking cauliflower curry. Started nibbling on the chorizo I was chopping up. Had a few bits then felt full.

Still ate 2x bowls of the cauli curry.

I'm blaming the lemsips, which are very sweet with all the sweetners.

Cold almost gone but I have glue ear and almost keep falling over😂😂 affected my balance

Finallymorethananumber · 18/10/2018 21:49

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for the thread and the support.

It's so far so good for me. I've been sticking to this woe since the last boot camp and am not on the iron pills now so no orange juice and no stick from @BIWI.

The hardest thing I'm finding is the amount of water but at least that will lessen as I hopefully shrink! I also need to work on recipe ideas. A job for tomorrow. Celeriac seems interesting.

I probably won't post a lot but I read each post, coming back to the thread several times a day to keep me going.

Laska5772 · 18/10/2018 21:52

doilooklikeatourist

I cannot polish my halo at all on fruit today because i had some raspberries ( see above) , so I am not criticising you at all. , but if you are going to have any fruit (even after the first two weeks) its best avoid apples as they are really carby.

if you scroll across the tabs at the base of the spreadsheet you'll find a fruit carb list .. Apples are in the 'red' zone for carbs ..

WheelyCote · 18/10/2018 22:13

Oh and the cherry flavoured throat spray that tastes like cough medicine. That's very sweet too. I'm not needing it now but that won't have helped. Colds suck😷
