Welcome everyone. We have over 150 people signed up this time, so it's going to be pretty busy, and the initial chat thread is going to be very fast-moving!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to post your starting weight.

Remember, you don't have to input your actual weight if you don't want to - you can index it, which means starting at 100 and then for every pound you lose, you take off a point.

If your name isn't on the spreadsheet, don't panic! Just add your name to the bottom, and then the lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready will re-alphabetise the list.

If you're on the spreadsheet and you don't want to be, don't worry - just don't enter any info, and then you'll be deleted after the first couple of weeks.

prettbird BIWI thank you for the yoghurt tips - I've been trying to find some that is less than 5g carbs. Off to Lidl I go...

might try and pick up some of spiderkitty noodles as well - not sure I fancy the fishy ones!

My day yesterday:

B: greek yoghurt
L: boiled eggs with mayo, spinach cucumber and tomato salad
D: Courgetti carbonara with extra mushrooms and spinach (sauce was just egg yolks, grated parmesan and double cream).
4.5 Litres of water

Managing fine so far, but I've been doing LCHF since the end of June (with a few weekend blips). Lost almost 2.5 stone so far so keep going everyone- it does work and its so worth it. Admittedly I still have a lot of weight to lose but I definitely find this the most sustainable way of eating.

Littleorangetree · 17/10/2018 10:23

Morning everyone Smile. I had a good day yesterday, though had a bit of a struggle drinking enough water as I ended up drinking most of it in the evening. I made egg muffins this morning with parsely, chives, cheddar and parma ham - they were lovely! Thank you for the link to the recipe BIWI , I'll definitey be making those for breakfast again. Plan for today is:
B: egg muffins and coffee with cream
L: Tuna or egg mayo salad
D: Stuffed chicken breast (not sure with what yet!) wrapped in parma ham with buttered veg (prob broccoli, leeks and savoy cabbage)

Going to try to glug more water...!

My struggle is when i’m hungry and making the kids food! So this morning I wanted their peanut butter bagels so hard! Luckily I’m not hungry very often as this way of eating keeps me so full. Then I had a slice of tempeh fried very crispy and some scrambled egg, coffee with coconut milk and i’ve got through it.
I made broccoli and Stilton soup last night from the veggy recipe thread. It was good but a bit higher carb than i’ve been aiming for so hope it doesn’t make a difference. I usually up the carbs slightly after 2 weeks anyway, but was trying to play it safe this time round!

bibliomania · 17/10/2018 11:29

Tempeh fried crispy, you say? Where do you get the tempeh?

StuntNun · 17/10/2018 11:33

I make my own yogurt - it's very easy if you have an Instant Pot or a yogurt maker but you can also make it in a slow cooker or a thermos flask. I heat two litres of full fat milk and 300g double cream to 85 degrees (the Instant Pot does this for you) then cool it in a water bath to 45 degrees before adding left over yogurt from the last batch as a starter. Culture at 45 degrees for 8 hours (you can wrap a slow cooker or thermos in towels to keep the residual heat in) for a sweetish natural yogurt or 10-12 hours for a sour flavour but much lower carbs. I like to strain the yogurt through a muslin (after it has been in the fridge for a few hours to set) to make Greek yogurt but that stage isn't essential if you don't mind a runnier texture. If you do strain the yogurt then you can keep some of the strained off whey to use as the starter for the next batch.

biblio they sell it frozen in blocks in my local health food shop, I have only been able to find it in independent shops

bibliomania · 17/10/2018 12:16

Thanks, StAlphonzo, there's a shop near me that might fit the bill.

Hi all. I'm trying desperately to lose weight before Christmas. I've been trying to do low carb for a while but every time there's a birthday or occasion I eat crap and then follow that up for another week. I need to be more focused. I've been sick the last week with a possible blood clot so had to give up exercising which is frustrating.
Love the spreadsheets and all the info.

Spiderkitty · 17/10/2018 13:04

I'm working today, so drinking enough may be a struggle as I don't want to be rushing to the loo every 5 minutes!I've had 1.75 litres so far though so will try to make 3!
B: Scrambled duck eggs (hens are on a laying strike...)
S: Piece of cheese
L: 2 boiled eggs, 2 low carb sausages, cucumber and celery
S: 2 cups coffee and cream
D: Scallops and shallots fried in butter, creamy cauliflower puree and swede fries

I really wanted to make some egg muffins today but didn't have enough eggs! Hopefully will have enough tomorrow.

Please add me?! 143 lbs

millionaireshortie · 17/10/2018 14:24

You're all keeping me inspired, thank you! Finding this so hard 😢

bibliomania · 17/10/2018 14:50

Someone brought biscuits into work, which I'm resisting (not very good biscuits). Before I did the last bootcamp, I thought I was an emotional eater, but I realised last time round that so much of the craving is simply a physiological response. If I have one, I will want more and more, but if I resist it, it's a non-issue.

SmallVera · 17/10/2018 15:06

biblio that's so true.

ilovecherries · 17/10/2018 15:25

What in particular are you struggling with, shortie? How can we help. It DOES become easy and second nature, this is a hard week because your body is wondering what hit it. I’m 80 lbs down so it does work if you can get past this bit.

ItsalmostSummer · 17/10/2018 15:46

Anyone know if you can have too many eggs?

ajandjjmum · 17/10/2018 15:50

I love these threads. I feel like I'm not on my own. Happy with what I'm eating - just hope I start to lose the odd pound! Grin

bluelefant · 17/10/2018 15:53

@biblio thank you for the recipe. Will definitely try over the weekend Smile

EwanHoozami · 17/10/2018 15:55

Millionaire what are you finding the most hard?

boldlygoingsomewhere · 17/10/2018 15:59

shortie I also found transitioning to low-carb initially as so many of my favourite meals had been very carb heavy - lasagne, big bowls of pasta, sandwiches/toast. It was very hard to change and find new favourites - have you for family to cook for too?

One thing which helped me was to substitute the carb element for something else. I’d make a Bolognese sauce which everyone else had with pasta and I’d have with veg or salad or a shepherds pie with swede mash. Celeriac is now my favourite vegetable! I’ve made mash, dauphinoise and chips with it.

Let us know if there is anything we can help with...

FinallyHere · 17/10/2018 16:07

@bibliomania

If I have one, I will want more and more, but if I resist it, it's a non-issue.

So agree with you on this one. It certainly is easier for me to resist the first one than any subsequent biscuits. Sigh.

StuntNun · 17/10/2018 16:44

It's much better to entirely avoid foods such as biscuits than to try to just have one. Most people believe they are moderators and do better when they don't entirely deprive themselves but actually most people are abstainers who are more likely to succeed by never deciding to "just have one".

MrsCoyote · 17/10/2018 17:00

PamPoo hairy scratchings Grin

I would like to share my yoghurty invention - I like having it with cocoa powder (the no sugar one, for baking) - it tastes like chocolate.
The powder is 17g carbohydrates pro 100g but one tsp is enough - so OK carbs? I hope its bootcamp friendly Smile.

Mandelinka · 17/10/2018 17:02

Day 3 going well so far

B yesterday and today
2 mugs of green tea and 2 egg muffins ( the one with leek and cheese was lovely, will make again)
L vegetable soup yesterday and chicken curry with broccoli today
D mixed salad with mayo and meatballs y, roasted chicken drumsticks with chilly and cream ( hoping for leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch). Couliflower and broccoli on the side

I’ve been having multiple cups of herbal tea, mainly mint or green.
Had a tspoon of peanut butter yesterday, got home from work and encountered bit of a crisis at home so needed to steady myself while cooking proper dinner.
