Morning all!

I would normally drop a link to the spreadsheet here, but for some reason I've had to request access to it Confused

So until someone else - or @AthelstaneTheUnready - can sort this, I'm afraid I'll just have to start the thread without the link.

Hi,

Haven't posted as often it weirdly demotivates me, when reading of people losing shedloads of weight and I'm only a pound this week and a pound next. (My issue I know and apologies, if sounds snippy)

Anyway..... have lost 1/2 a stone since starting. So am pleased with myself as due to recurring back injury I haven't been able to exercise at all. So it's all to do with the food itself.

Starting to feel good about myself again.

Btw, name changed recently so when spreadsheet back up ok, will amend my name on there.
Hope that's ok, BiWi?

lonesurvivor I wish it was muscle! I'm sure there is muscle there somewhere - underneath the blubber! Certainly my backside, tummy, upper arms are jelly like in appearance and wobble tremendously when I run!

I am wondering if it is a combination of little things that are causing me to not lose weight, all seemingly insignificant on their own but combined have an impact. So perhaps I need to

  1. reduce my veggie portions (admittedly these have been quite large as I felt I needed to eat lots to keep it all healthy and balanced.
  2. restrict myself to 1 coffee with cream a day (this will be hard as I like my hot drinks and don't like herbal tea)
  3. cut cheese out of my diet completely
  4. reduce portion size

A week of this strictness alongside regular exercise should result in a loss, so I'm going to give it a go.

I'm so determined to lose weight it is really hard when you feel you are doing all you can but no impact.

Seafour · 18/06/2018 08:56

Morning campers, I've not weighed yet, eagerly awaiting the resurrection of the spreadsheet of fabulousness.

Well done losers, Thanksto anyone struggling KOKO

MrsBertBibby · 18/06/2018 08:59

Sorry to be defensive BIWI. Shitty week coming up at work.

NSV, my LKBennett trouser suit is back in the game. Last wore that last August when I came home from an interview in agony from the waist band digging in. So I think that's about a year of flab gone since April.

DramaAlpaca · 18/06/2018 09:04

Well, I'm back from holiday & although I've gained 1lb I'm going to call that a big win as I wasn't always able to stay on track.

Back on it with a vengeance this week.

JingsMahBucket · 18/06/2018 09:28

Placemarking

ShagMeRiggins · 18/06/2018 09:35

Am I the only one who has access to the spreadsheet? Worked for me.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 18/06/2018 09:36

No change here from last Monday. Not surprising, really. I haven't been great at sticking to this woe as I've been feeling beyond exhausted for the last 7 days, and really hit the carbs yesterday. (Fell into a bag of not-quite-crisps, which really weren't that nice but I still ate the lot. I do expect my period soon, though.) I am STILL tired but am going to force myself to run home tonight as I haven't run for over a week which is NOT good. Hey ho!

ShagMeRiggins · 18/06/2018 09:36

Hahaha—went back to copy & paste link and spreadsheet is gone now!

ShagMeRiggins · 18/06/2018 09:38

But I swear it was there—I entered my husband’s weight (Dibbled) so can prove it.

Maybe Athelstane is on an acid trip or something.

ilovecherries · 18/06/2018 09:39

advice, I do know exactly what you mean, but these little losses all add up. I rarely lost more tha a pound a week (which is why I get where you are coming from). But these pounds have added up to 5 stone. So if the threads support you (I know I couldn’t have done it without them), then don’t deprive yourself of them or be discouraged by what others are losing. In the end, it’s sticking with it that really makes the difference, not how much you lose in any given week.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 18/06/2018 09:41

And in case anyone is wondering, the rabbits are now, finally, back together! They were fine last time I tried until I put them outside together at which point they fought, so they'd been in one cage but separate until Saturday, when they came inside again. I had to spend Saturday night on the sofa (squashed by the cat who had to oversee matters!) and was kept awake by the buggers running around the place, but they survived!

bibliomania · 18/06/2018 09:50

Pissed off at myself for hitting the sugar over the weekend. Also didn't drink enough water. Anyway, climbing back on board.

Nan0second · 18/06/2018 10:18

No weigh in for me because I was out too early.
Lots of nsv in that every single person I see is shocked by my weight loss.
It’s 1.5 stones in 6 months but I would say that it has generally been one pound at a time, often less! I haven’t cheated at all although I have had a few more low carb bits than necessary when I’ve wanted to.
Slow and steady has meant a bmi drop from 27 to 22. KOKO all

RedPandaMama · 18/06/2018 10:27

Can anyone help me get back on the wagon? What do you do when you fall off? I've had 2 weeks doing bootcamp on and off and gained a few lbs. Sad feel so let down because I did amazingly the first few weeks, then had one taste of sugar and it's like I'm completely addicted again. I sit there willing myself not to have anything and we don't have any in the house but I just go out and buy it. It's so bad Angry

I'm going to really really try this week as I go on holiday on Saturday and have carb bloat now.

Chocchip88 · 18/06/2018 10:36

Hope the spreadsheet returns soon!
I have a NSV and a question.
NSV - I am wearing a pair of sandals that I couldn’t fasten over my fat feet last summer.
Question - my period is a week late, I’m usually like clockwork, def not pregnant. Could this be related to low carb?

LeapinLizards · 18/06/2018 10:44

I'm up a bit (not sure how much) which is entirely expected because of the wine / portion of chips at the funeral. I'm back on it and hope to rectify it.
@redpandamama, given that you've got a deadline of Saturday, would you consider an egg fast? Or a very very low carb week to give you a boost? You could get a mini-whoosh before the weekend.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 18/06/2018 10:45

8lb off following my blip during surgery so thats 4lb off that i gained and another 4 off my lowest weight from a couple of weeks ago. lovely to me in the 12st catagory.

It may have been a bit lower but made massive steaks for dinner last night for fathers day i think just the physical size of the meal will still be there.

RedPanda

Restarting is really hard. im a firm believe that you have to be in the right mindset to be successful at dieting. what can you do to make you feel more determined? do you have a goal piece of clothing or photograph?

I find reading these threads and also articles on low carbing very motivating as i know that i will be to ashamed to post or read this if i fall off the wagon and i really miss that.

Have you tried meal planning, i have aTnumber of meals that i make as standard and always have the food in the fridge. prawn stirfry, creamy chicken bake etc etc?

the enemy of the low carb plan is hunger. there is not much in the way of convenience food so if you are hungry the thought of having to cook is depressing. i try to make sure i have, boiled eggs, ham and nice sliced cheese in the fridge. for breakfast today i had rolled ham in Gouda cheese.

3stonedown · 18/06/2018 10:50

RedPandaMama in my experience, it's about not beating yourself up when you go wrong. It's in the past and you just have to get back on now. You can of course continue to "cheat" but you won't lose weight, you won't feel good other than that 10 second sugar hit that quickly vanishes and you won't look good so what's the point. Nothing tastes as good as the feeling of losing weight for me.

Sorry if that sounds harsh but it's what I say to myself.

3stonedown · 18/06/2018 10:52

Oh and I've been known to screen shot motivational weight loss quotes from pinterest and put them as my phone screensaver, then when I feel hungry I just look at my phone

Yarboosucks · 18/06/2018 10:57

I would add that it is not cheating... you can't cheat, you only let the carbs beat you! How is some sugar worth setting yourself back by up to 3 days? So stop thinking of it as cheating... Be honest with yourself at least!

Yarboosucks · 18/06/2018 10:58

I read this thread when I am wavering... I want a pair of size 12 jeans!

StillNoClue · 18/06/2018 11:00

Another couple of pound off, so happy with this week.

It was the week before my period last week, normally I'm eating constantly, found with this WOE that I didn't need to snack constantly.

Went out for a run Friday night and ran for the longest I've ever had. So definitely fat adjusted which is good :).

Still can't stomach coffee with cream Confused

prettybird · 18/06/2018 11:01

0.5lb down to 11st 11lb Smile That's 10lb this Boot Camp Smile

Given I'd stalled for 2 months at 11st 13lb, and then got a dose of the "Fuck Its" Blush and putting on 8lb before chasing after and climbing back on the wagon for this Boot Camp, I'm pretty pleased. I could try to claim it was a drastic carb refeed to trigger a leptin(?) reset - but I'd be lying Grin But the positive thing is I'm on the move towards the 10st somethings again Smile

@farine - my two thoughts looking at your menus are whether you're getting enough fat for your body? I know you say you feel you're eating enough fat, but maybe try doing what someone does, which is a spoonful of olive oil (like medicine Wink) daily. Or what I've started to do, which is regular slices/spoonfuls (depending on temperature Grin) of salted butter.

And secondly: have you taken measurements? You may have lost visceral fat the dangerous stuff which would show up in a reduction in your waist measurements. I have 3 waist measurements at 11st 13lb: January, 34.5"; March 34"; and a couple of weeks ago, 33.5" Confused

So sometimes you can change/improve shape without changing weight.

(Did a sneaky re-measurement of my waist this morning and it's still 33.5" - another inch to go before it's less than half my height Grin)

traceyturnblatt · 18/06/2018 11:11

Stay the same for me this week but a nice MSV if having to tighten the belt around my waist on my dress another notch!

You're all doing great KOKO Thanks
