Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

BIWI · 19/03/2018 07:19

Good morning!

Well, we've finally reached the end. Here's the spreadsheet, for the last time

It feels to me like it's been a really good Bootcamp, with lots of NSVs as well as success on the scales. Hopefully today sees another good reading on the scales too!

As I've said on previous threads, just because we've reached the end of this Bootcamp, it doesn't mean that we all just melt away - I'll keep this chat thread going and when it fills up, I'll start another general chat one, so there's always someone here for help and support as well as ongoing low carb stuff.

I'll probably put the big stick back in its cupboard for a while though Grin

BrassicaBabe cabbage carbonara is pretty quick! Fry bacon bits garlic and mushrooms, add shredded cabbage till cooked but not mushy. Whisk egg, cream and Parmesan , turn off heat then add to the pan. Swish around till egg mixture is cooked. Add salt and pepper and can add more Parmesan. Yummy!

Rshard · 20/03/2018 21:48

Glad you’re warm and cosy athle

AthelstaneTheUnready · 20/03/2018 21:51

Brassica, really quick (as in seriously can't be arsed quick) for me is to chop bacon and green veg quite small, cover it in butter and pepper, and microwave it for 4 minutes.

It's not gourmet, but at least it's eating when you're tired and it's late Grin.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 20/03/2018 21:52

argh, not veg though, sorry. Substitute cheese for the bacon?

Thanks, Rshard I'm actually too hot now

YoLoHogwomanay · 21/03/2018 01:51

had a relatively good day today foodwise. no chocolate for the first time in ages! I must be less stressed out today Grin

I'm thinking about an egg fast too. it worked a treat before and I didn't tire of eggs but did add some veggies into them (spinach, mushrooms, celery, avocado) to add flavour and texture and to be less boring.

BrassicaBabe · 21/03/2018 06:37

Thanks Arhel and Destiny for the quick veg dishes. Going to try both

LeapinLizards · 21/03/2018 06:56

Brassica, I make a speedy sort of risotto type dish. It's chopped up veg - whatever you've got - with cauliflower rice, fried in butter. I buy bags of frozen cauli rice so just pull one of them out. It's extra nice with some seeds or chopped nuts through it,

Grimbles · 21/03/2018 07:04

Athel, the eggs aren't too bad yet. Maybe because I am still IF so am only eating twice a day is making it easier, I dunno. Ask me again Friday Grin

Getting on the scales to see a 3lb loss is a bit more of an incentive too, maybe a whoosh was coming anyway but it's nice to finally see some movement again!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 21/03/2018 10:05

ShagMe happy to be of service Grin

BrassicaBabe I fried up a load of mushrooms, shredded sprouts and spinach on Sunday evening - lots of salted butter - quick and yummy.

Lonesurvivor · 21/03/2018 10:06

destinysdaughter what was it you made in the pic?

I had a bit of a wobble late last night took two bites of something I shouldn't. I know why I was tired, hungry and hadn't drank enough water. I was still well within my carb allowance and calories and I'm still in ketosis so all is ok but I need to go today and buy a few bits to lay my hands on when temptation strikes.
I know what I'm like and if I don't deal with this now I'll slowly but surely start picking and before I know it I'll be back to square one.

Bluntness100 · 21/03/2018 12:56

Well i hit the red wine last night. Husband was celebrating so I decided to join him when he asked. Groan. Didn't sleep well at all. Wine always does that to me. Didn't eat off plan though, stayed low carb and didn't snack, but the red wine wasn't my best idea..😏

Destinysdaughter · 21/03/2018 15:05

Lonesurvivor they are low carb Bounty bars and they're lovely! 😀

YoLoHogwomanay · 21/03/2018 17:39

I've decided to track my food as I'm gaining weight.
today:

B: two slices of home made tortilla (eggs, butter, cream, mushrooms, kale, leeks, celery)
1 coffee with slurp of double cream
2 black coffees with milk ( not my usual fare but all that was available)
L: Turkey breast with creamy red pesto veg tagliatelle (cabbage, celery, mushrooms, leek, butter, cream, cream cheese)
D: not sure yet. maybe steak with swede fries or puree plus FLGV in butter

Lonesurvivor · 21/03/2018 17:56

destinysdaughter could you share the recipe please, sounds lovely.

Grimbles · 21/03/2018 18:18

I just did my first C25K I didn't die so it's a good start Grin

Still egging away... Have brought a flgv to start adding back in tomorrow - Tesco had a 3 for £4 deal on packs of asparagus and tender stem so I've stocked up

TimeIhadaNameChange · 21/03/2018 18:36

Yay, Grimbles! That’s brilliant! Especially the not-dying bit!

Rshard · 21/03/2018 19:11

I need to do that too yolo. Keeps me on the straight and narrow,

Well done grimbles!!

YoLoHogwomanay · 21/03/2018 19:23

well done grimbles !!

YoLoHogwomanay · 21/03/2018 19:28

food track #2 : I had some olives as a snack. and tonight will be chicken leg and roasted turnip and cauli with Indian spices plus wilted kale in butter.

I need to drink more water. been a bit better today with this.

ilovecherries · 21/03/2018 19:47

I was at bravissimo. It was a bloody expensive visit but I'm now a 32JJ rather than the 40JJ I used to be. (I didn't make that leap in one step, this is my third refit in 10 months).

Nan0second · 21/03/2018 19:47

Well done grimbles on the run
B creamy coffee
L eggs with hollandaise, fried mushrooms and spinach
D chicken thighs done with mushrooms and shallots with buttery / Parmesan cauliflower mash and broccoli
S coffee with a tiny splash of milk 12g v dark chocolate
W working on it
Am super full with indigestion so am annoyed with myself.

DH managed to get some Greek yogs in smaller pots as I scoff the 500g ones a bit fast. Annoyingly they are 200g each with 11g carbs in each one 😱 - Morrison’s own brand. Will have to try to only eat half at a time

BrassicaBabe · 21/03/2018 20:12

cherries I was at bravissimo yesterday! Yes a pricey trip! I've gone from a 36/38 DD to a 32 F Shock

Rshard · 21/03/2018 20:24

ilove and brassica how regularly do you get measured? I last went in late November and went from a 36c to a 34e.

BrassicaBabe · 21/03/2018 20:36

At those prices Rshard not very often! But then I'm about 2lbs from goal so I've got no plans of needing remeasuring again. I came away with a sports bra too. It needs to "give" a little - I could barely breathe!!

ilovecherries · 21/03/2018 20:48

I'm going every two stone or thereabouts.
