Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

BIWI · 19/03/2018 07:19

Good morning!

Well, we've finally reached the end. Here's the spreadsheet, for the last time

It feels to me like it's been a really good Bootcamp, with lots of NSVs as well as success on the scales. Hopefully today sees another good reading on the scales too!

As I've said on previous threads, just because we've reached the end of this Bootcamp, it doesn't mean that we all just melt away - I'll keep this chat thread going and when it fills up, I'll start another general chat one, so there's always someone here for help and support as well as ongoing low carb stuff.

I'll probably put the big stick back in its cupboard for a while though Grin

I noticed the formula is off on the weekly loss for this week. I think its using the figure from 3 weeks ago instead of last week. I wont change it either as don't want to mess it up completely.

Well done everyone! We made it. Thanks for the threads and good advice. I'm going to be staying around and hope my eating habits change permanently. I started at 145lbs and weighed in today at 124.8lbs! Look and feel so much better although I need to buy new clothes!

prettybird · 19/03/2018 12:43

Many thanks also to StuntNun for the scientific explanations and SayrraT for looking after the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness FlowersFlowers

BIWI - I hope things improve soon.

I've not lost much this Boot Camp (will weigh in formally tomorrow - think it is about 2.5lb) but I have lost inches Smile 'Tis my own responsibility though Hmm - I was ultra focussed in the first two weeks while I was wielding The Big Stick and then as soon as I gave it over to Beryl promptly forgot the key point of Boot Camp Lite - a few extras like nuts or alcohol or healthy dark chocolate in moderation_ Blush I also wasn't as good at drinking water Blush And I was snacking through boredom too much, even if the snacks were HFLC Blush

Let my experience be a warning to others! ShockBlush

Nan0second · 19/03/2018 13:06

Odd NSV here: my scar from my caesarean which was very red and thickened has gone really pale and almost disappeared. I am more than 2.5years post op so this is really odd and not really medically explainable other than reducing inflammation as a side effect of low carb.
I do still have some overhang but a lot less than I did!

Nan0second · 19/03/2018 13:07

And thanks everybody for your support and management of bootcamp. Your recipes and threads have definitely kept me focussed

Appaloosajunction · 19/03/2018 13:20

Lost 15lbs over this bootcamp.
Thanks to everyone for their input. This thread has made all the difference.

Hello all!
I've been lurking for a bit after falling off the wagon and feeling really embarrassed about it Blush but I'm pleased to say I've clawed it back with 3 pounds off in my last week and so a total of 9 pounds this bootcamp. I'm staying with it for the foreseeable future so hope to stick around the thread a bit longer.

Huge thanks to BIWI, prettybird, and beryl for looking after us on the thread and wielding that stick, and to stunt for her sciency bits and Sayrra for the SSOF.

Rayna37 · 19/03/2018 15:54

Thanks to everyone contributing to the thread it's been so good for me. I'm 3 weeks (and a day) behind you all with bootcamp after getting back on the LCHF wagon at the start of the year so will weigh in tomorrow. Have had some mindful cheats and some pointless fuck-its recently with lots of eating out and too much booze, so not much progress in the last 2 weeks. A bit complacent after losing the baby weight and reaching a weight on the high side of my "normal" but still have plenty of clothes to fit into so need to KOKO. Have aspirations to buy new smaller clothes! Would like to think I'll be strictly on maintenance by the time the next bootcamp rolls around.

Rayna37 · 19/03/2018 15:55

Haaaaa I've just realised May is only 2 months away! We'll see.

Grimbles · 19/03/2018 16:23

I've gained a lb after sts for a couple of weeks. A bit disappointed but still almost a stone off so I can't complain.

I'm giving the egg fast a go this week to see if that kick-starts weightless again. Hopefully I've understood the rules properly!

So far I've had 3 eggs scrambled with 40g of butter, later I will probably have a 3 egg omlette again with 40g of butter plus a bit of cheese and hot sauce to liven it up a bit. Planning to dink 3l of water today as well.

MumOfAPickle · 19/03/2018 17:55

Hi all, thanks for the new thread. I will weigh in tomorrow as I forgot this morning (and it was freezing!).

grimbles I also doing an egg fast, it's hard already and I've only done today! Have promised myself to stick to it for 3 days at least.

Bluntness100 · 19/03/2018 18:07

Ive dropped a couple of dress sizes all in and am nearly back to normal. Not quite though, I still have some clothes that are too small and are still defeating me. Onwards and downwards.

I also bought a new car today. Well new to me, it's three years old. But I'm rather excited about it. I didn't however go to the gym as I should have because when I got back I couldn't be arsed and it was cold. It's also TOM and my guts are cramping like they see the menopause coming and want to use the opportunty to inflict as much pain as possible whilst they still can.

I did have a good food day though. Now where's the nurofen? 😏

prettybird · 19/03/2018 18:10

I actually find egg fasts quite easy as the eggs and butter keep me full but my leeway to snack is thwarted reduced Wink

I'm happy enough to have 2 boiled eggs for breakfast (with a bit of butter put into the hot egg), 2 hard boiled eggs (boiled at breakfast time), mashed with Lidl mayonnaise for lunch and then a 2 egg omelette for supper. If I'm needing variety and/or gave the time, I'll make scrambled eggs (my technique for curdy, creamy eggs is quite slow). If I'm doing a 5 day fast, I might make "pancakes" (eggs beaten with cream cheese and some cinnamon) for one of the meals.

And remember to drink plenty of water! (Which reminds me.....Wink)

MumOfAPickle · 19/03/2018 19:14

Thanks pretty yes I do love eggs (I'm hoping this won't put me off for life) but I am guilty of snacking so I suspect I missing that. Also probably not having enough fat now I think about it....I don't like coffee so those bulletproof things are out....plenty of butter with dinner I guess

Grimbles · 19/03/2018 20:59

I'm planning 3 days proper eggy, then add some veg back in on day 4 and meat on day 5. I reckon I could do 2 more days of this without a problem.

I had a coffee with butter in earlier, it was actually quite nice!

Grimbles · 19/03/2018 21:04

I've got a trip coming up that I know will be very hard to keep to lchf. I'm thinking of staying on BC once I've done with the egg fast, having my trip and not worrying too much about carbs and then doing another egg fast when I am back to undo any damage.

Rshard · 20/03/2018 06:56

Could you take some supplies grimble, to give you options?

I’m going to start logging my food again on here if no one minds? I always used to and it helped to have that accountability, not that I’ve been actually slipping but I did feel a bit like having a fuck it moment yesterday

Bluntness100 · 20/03/2018 08:00

Morning all and go for it rshard.

Grimbles, yes it is hard, I would advise sticking to it as much as possible then if you want something, have it. I was away four days, which made me rather hungry at times as I don't eat breakfast normally and found mid morning snacks were all carbs. I did drink white wine though and I had dessert on the last night. It's fine. As long as you go straight back on it. I think if you go blow out from thr start that's when the issues arise. The longer you're off it, the harder it is to get back on.

LeapinLizards · 20/03/2018 08:06

Hello everyone, weighing in and checking in. I've lost half a pound this week. Since i started bootcamp, i've lost 8.5lbs (I started a week before BC) which is pleasing. The best thing about BC, though, is that I've learned what stalls me and I feel confident that I'll lose more from here on in because I now know what to do (keep a tighter lid on the double cream and IF).

Thanks to all of you for the support and especially to BIWI - [flowers for the tough time] - and StuntNun, PrettyBird and Sayrra for all their work on this BC. I'm going to hang around and KOKO

Rayna37 · 20/03/2018 08:18

Ok so disappointing but deserved 0.4lb gain this week. Still, that's just over 6lbs in 7 weeks of BC for me and 11lbs in total from 1st Jan. I should have a good week before my holiday then no doubt go a bit off track there. Will aim for strict BC April and maybe an alcohol free one too. Definitely upping the exercise now too. KOKO!

StuntNun · 20/03/2018 08:27

I'm going camping well glamping really next month. Does anyone have any tips for low carb foods that are easy to cook with limited cooking equipment or don't need to be cooked at all?

prettybird · 20/03/2018 08:42

You say limited cooking facilities? Would that include a camping stove? So you could do fried eggs and bacon or scrambled eggs (good "camping" fare Grin)

In the hope it will be warmer, you could make up some salads - coleslaw lasts well. Avocados are good "pre-packaged" food - ready for you to cut open when you need it. Take some Boursin to mix in with the avocado (and to eat teaspoons of or is that just me Blush)

Pepperami, salami, pastrami - although they're processed, will keep well.

Rshard · 20/03/2018 09:27

I eat Boursin by the teaspoon too prettybird! Fabulous stuff.

Rshard · 20/03/2018 09:56

Will you have a fridge stuntnun? If so some bits from M&S - rollitos etc?

TerfsUp · 20/03/2018 10:05

Would cooked chicken store long enough to be useful, Stuntnun?
