Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

BIWI · 19/03/2018 07:19

Good morning!

Well, we've finally reached the end. Here's the spreadsheet, for the last time

It feels to me like it's been a really good Bootcamp, with lots of NSVs as well as success on the scales. Hopefully today sees another good reading on the scales too!

As I've said on previous threads, just because we've reached the end of this Bootcamp, it doesn't mean that we all just melt away - I'll keep this chat thread going and when it fills up, I'll start another general chat one, so there's always someone here for help and support as well as ongoing low carb stuff.

I'll probably put the big stick back in its cupboard for a while though Grin

Hello, I'm just starting out and was thinking of joining the next boot camp. Would it be possible to have a sticky of vegetarian recipes?

Rayna37 · 23/04/2018 08:24

Just catching up, well done Rshard two minutes off your PB is huge!

I've been at my parents so too many carbs but at least opted for the cheese instead of a pudding while out yesterday. Back on it today.

Bluntness100 · 23/04/2018 09:04

Morning all.

Just saying hi. Nothing much to report. Did have a Chinese on sat due to hangover and was back on it yesterday and in gym. Also did a shit load of strimming in the garden yesterday and now ache all over...🤣

LeapinLizards · 23/04/2018 09:18

Hi mrsbertbibby - there is a veggie thread that's pinned. It may be a few pinned threads down but it is there . I'm vegetarian too so pleased to welcome another veggie LC to our collective.
I have put weight back on after a couple of forays into wine drinking so I'm back on the trail of trying to get back into the 8s. I'm only at 9stone so not dire or anytihng but I'm annoyed because I was so delighted to be in the 8s, which i hadn't been for the most part of a decade.

BIWI · 23/04/2018 09:55

The vegetarian recipe thread has lost its sticky! I've reported to MNHQ and asked them to re-sticky it

Yay!

LeapinLizards · 23/04/2018 10:34

Ah! Sorry @mrsbertbibby - i hadn't checked it was still there.

As requested/promised PlantLover

The following is gluten/wheat free but not low carb. To make it more carb friendly I substituted Candarel in place of sugar and it worked fine.

I found the mixture stiff so added a tablespoon of mascarpone, loosened it up a treat.

I also made a syrup with lemon juice & Candarel to drizzle on the top. Also it did not take 35 mins to cook in my oven, more like 15/20.

Fingers crossed the link works.

I'm tentatively a pound down today. I'm not banking on it sticking but it's the first downward movement I've seen for 6 weeks, so even if it's just a twitch it gives me hope. Also, my Monday 5k just felt easier today. Forgot to start my garmin, so I don't know actual time, but I did feel as if I was running better.

Rshard · 23/04/2018 13:29

Thanks rayna!

That’s great news cherries, nice to see movement even if it doesn’t stick I’m sure.

MrsBertBibby · 23/04/2018 13:29

I've been looking at the rules etc. In terms of water consumption, do you get to count tea in that? Or is that not OK?

Eolian · 23/04/2018 14:04

After a week or so, my weight is fluctuating like mad (up and down within a range of about 5lb) but I'm not that fussed. I'm weighing daily out of sheer curiosity really, and anyway I already feel lighter, less puffy and my clothes feel less tight (especially around the waist, but a bitin the thighs too).

It's interesting how hugely much easier I find it to resist carby snacks on LC too. I guess it's breaking the cycle of that sugar high, sugar low that does it. Plus all the fat and protein keeping you full up.

Psychologika · 23/04/2018 14:25

Hi all. First day today! Feeling quite nervous. For tomorrow’s dinner I’ve bought some 20% fat mince which I never do. Does anyone have any recipes for Bologese?

Rshard · 23/04/2018 15:57

The only change I’ve really made fir this woe is to use shallots rather than onion. Oh no spaghetti of course.

LeapinLizards · 23/04/2018 17:38

Great news on your loss cherries after such a long stall. Really hope it sticks.

Bibby, herbal tea counts towards your water intake & I think 2 cups of coffee/normal tea count too, but no more than that.

ilovecherries · 23/04/2018 19:39

There were a lot of happy grunts piggy sounds in the Cherries' house tonight. This morning I dumped a FTGV in the slow cooker with a glug of olive oil, a sliced pepper, a shallot, three crushed garlic cloves, herbs, smoked paprika and two sliced chilli and left the slow cooker to work its magic. Tonight, added some shredded spinach and fresh coriander, then at the last minute tucked some mozerella balls into the mix and dropped a whole egg each into the mix to fry/poach/coddle.

Rshard · 24/04/2018 07:34

That sounds amazing!

Almahart · 24/04/2018 11:24

Hallo everyone! I’m back having been a complete carby twat and put 10ibs back on

Those biscuits look nice!

Got the post holiday blues today, I'm skint, it's cold and raining and hate having a fat tummy. Sad

Twoo · 24/04/2018 12:52

I am spring cleaning with avengeance today. If anyone as much as drops a skin cell for at least two weeks, there will be trouble. And my bum cheeks are sore after running.
