Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

BIWI · 19/03/2018 07:19

Good morning!

Well, we've finally reached the end. Here's the spreadsheet, for the last time

It feels to me like it's been a really good Bootcamp, with lots of NSVs as well as success on the scales. Hopefully today sees another good reading on the scales too!

As I've said on previous threads, just because we've reached the end of this Bootcamp, it doesn't mean that we all just melt away - I'll keep this chat thread going and when it fills up, I'll start another general chat one, so there's always someone here for help and support as well as ongoing low carb stuff.

I'll probably put the big stick back in its cupboard for a while though Grin

It's definitely realistic nano. And well done on the loss.

Eolian, the pound is just water, it's one of the dangers of weighing daily.

Well my favourite white shorts are too big for me. As in look like I'm wearing someone else's clothes too big. And instead of being pleased I feel stupidly annoyed. Really annoyed. I can't decide if it's the fact I was big enough to fit them and thought I looked good or if it is the loss of my fave white shorts (that I only wore round the house) that's pissing me off the most.😔

Rshard · 19/04/2018 11:55

The body/weight/size/height variances are so fascinating blunt, there’s regularly a thread on MN - if you’re 5’4” and a size 8 how much do you weigh? Always a right mix of answers!! There’s no magic forumula is there?

Nan0second · 19/04/2018 12:16

Agree blunt it is really interesting how much difference frame makes.
I have ridiculously skinny arms but decent hips (although apparently not good enough to fit a baby out 🙄)...
How annoying about the shorts. I keep getting cross that I have no clothes to wear!

Rshard · 19/04/2018 14:12

Annoying about your shorts blunt.

I found it hard to pick a goal weight nan, even now I’m not 100% sure but have decided to get there and see how I feel and how I look.

Bluntness100 · 19/04/2018 14:21

Yes. I find it interesting on frame too, it really does make a huge difference to how we look. The simple fact that one woman can look very thin at a certain height, weight and dress size and another woman, who is the same age, can look just about average with a bit of chub roll at the same size, weight and height just shows there really is no one rule or healthy weight for all of us.

Wide hips and shoulders v narrow hips and shoulders makes quite a big difference to how we carry weight. The wider framed woman will look much, much thinner than the narrower framed woman.

Ordered another pair of shorts from amazon 😔

AveAtqueVale · 19/04/2018 21:43

I seem to have had a water weight whoosh and am finally down into the next stone bracket! Only by 0.2 of a lb but I’ll take that Grin.

The shorts thing is annoying Blunt - I feel a bit similar about some gorgeous cord trousers I got for Christmas this year. They were Seasalt and far more expensive than I’d usually buy myself, and were so comfy and warm and washed beautifully. The last time I wore them they had to be held up firmly by a belt, and I hope know by the autumn they will be ridiculously too big. I’m slightly in mourning for them although I know I’d much rather be a few stone lighter without them!

Could I just ask what everyone’s go-to quick snacky meals are? Like instead of toast or a quick sandwich? I’m trying to think of things I can make quickly to eat with DCs on evenings when DH is working. If I don’t eat with them I end up putting it off and don’t eat (or, when not being good, snack on crap) and then don’t sleep properly etc. And also we’re going away to a self-catering holiday lodge place for a few days next week with MIL and I’ve just done a Tesco order, including bread and sandwich fillings for everyone for lunch. But I don’t know what to get for me. We’re likely to eat out in the evenings, so won’t have leftovers, and I don’t know what cooking facilities will be like (ie will we have a microwave for Brussel sprouts). So - sandwich-equivalents? I had tuna mayo and lettuce for lunch today but it was a bit uninspiring, especially for a holiday...

Rayna37 · 19/04/2018 21:55

Ave my quick, equivalent to sandwiches or toast type meals are mostly eggs. Omelettes often, or maybe something like Brussels microwaved with butter and some cheese or fried with bacon and shallots. Or scrambled eggs, maybe with mushrooms or smoked salmon, etc.

Rayna37 · 19/04/2018 21:57

DH just came in to give me a warning we we down to the last 14 eggs. He was serious.

Rshard · 20/04/2018 06:55

Oh yes eggs, I bought my third 12 egg box of this week yesterday

TerfsUp · 20/04/2018 07:56

From way upthread, LeapinLizards, thank you for the kind comment! I am sorry I overlooked you.

This has been a manic week as I started a new job on the other side of the country and am staying in a hotel three days a week and commuting six hours a day the other two days.

TerfsUp · 20/04/2018 07:58

Rshard and Rayna - wow! That is a lot of eggs. Are you following an egg fast?

TerfsUp · 20/04/2018 07:59

Congratulations on the promotion, beryl! Flowers

Bluntness100 · 20/04/2018 08:00

Morning all.

It's weird. I seldom eat eggs. I don't eat breakfast, never have done, so for lunch on I tend to eat things like cold cuts, pate, cheese , olives, salad stuff.

I like eggs, just seldom can be arsed.

Ave congrats on the new stone bracket. Not sure if any of the above helps with the lunch ideas? If you couple in eggs?

Rshard · 20/04/2018 08:09

ave I didn’t spot you’ve entered a new stone bracket - that’s awesome!

Dh and dd have helped me eat the eggs terfs, dd likes them after her early morning swim sessions. Your working life sounds super busy at the moment!

Rayna37 · 20/04/2018 08:11

Terf not an egg fast but I have eggs for breakfast most days, as does DH if he has breakfast, so that's maybe 20+ per week, then quite often DH will make mini omelettes or take hard boiled eggs for lunch with some salad or cheese. I probably have "double eggs" a couple of times a week, eg scrambled for breakfast and omelette for lunch. I've also been adding hard boiled egg yolk to veg for DS sometimes who's at the early stage of weaning.

ilovecherries · 20/04/2018 09:31

Well done, Beryl and woo-hoo Ave.Grin

I'm beginning to feel my scales are stuck at 11 stone 5 forever. And if ONE more person says to me 'oh, you're getting very thin, don't lose any more weight, will you' I won't be responsible for my response. Angry I'm in a healthy BMI by about half a pound, so I am NOT 'very thin'. I agree that I'm positively tiny compared to where I was, but it's all relative.

TerfsUp · 20/04/2018 09:47

Well done, Ave.

Life is busy, Rshard! But it's much better that way. I hate sitting around. Onward and upward (except for the scales). ;)

Eolian · 20/04/2018 10:11

Eggs are great - I must admit I'd struggle with LC breakfast without them. I find yoghurt pretty meh without any fruit, honey etc.

Feeling pretty smug this morning - I got a fresh warm loaf of bread out of the breadmaker this morning for the dc's breakfast and wasn't even tempted. I was happy with my scrambled eggs!

Rshard · 20/04/2018 13:50

Oh cherries, comments like that are so irritating. Someone mentioned me being a running skeleton soon - I’m far from thin, never mind skeletal. It’s so rude.

Well done eolian on giving the bread a swerve

twinkledag · 20/04/2018 15:34

I don't want to bring the mood of the thread down but I miscarried so will be rejoining you all much sooner than I thought I would be.

Too much to read back and catch up on but hope to be posting again regularly from tomorrow morning.

X

ilovecherries · 20/04/2018 15:42

I’m so very sorry to hear that Twinkle. It’s very hard.

BerylStreep · 20/04/2018 17:49

Oh twinkle I'm so sorry. Look after yourself, plenty of tlc needed. Flowers

Rshard · 20/04/2018 17:55
