Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

BIWI · 19/03/2018 07:19

Good morning!

Well, we've finally reached the end. Here's the spreadsheet, for the last time

It feels to me like it's been a really good Bootcamp, with lots of NSVs as well as success on the scales. Hopefully today sees another good reading on the scales too!

As I've said on previous threads, just because we've reached the end of this Bootcamp, it doesn't mean that we all just melt away - I'll keep this chat thread going and when it fills up, I'll start another general chat one, so there's always someone here for help and support as well as ongoing low carb stuff.

I'll probably put the big stick back in its cupboard for a while though Grin

Brassica that was a bit twatty, flowers or something would have been better, I'm sure he meant well though,,🤣

You need to get them seriously understanding this woe. My husband and daughter wouldn't have done it, an example they opened an Easter egg last week to share. When I said are you not offering me any they both looked at me blankly and said but you wouldn't eat it. Which is true. However clearly it would have been polite.😛

I've eaten chocolate three times this year. One drunken head first dive into a galaxy bar, some chocolate mousse profiterole thing at a meeting and some of a friends chocolate birthday cake a Easter when I had everyone over, but I left most of it as didn't really want it . Scraped the icing off and ate that,,left the cake 😳

I do get occassional cravings though not often but they do surface. It's normally when someone else is eating it.

For me it's chocolate that was my downfall too. Never crisps or nuts. So this woe works well to control that craving.

Rshard · 17/04/2018 07:41

Perhaps your dh thought of the chocolate as a treat for getting to goal brassica? My dh and dd are similar to bluntness’ these days.

Twoo · 17/04/2018 07:56

Venus Congratulations and you look great in your wedding dress Flowers

Brass wow, how great to have reached goal!

I’ve loved reading everybodies updates and sorry if I’ve forgotten to mention you ... I’ve just read about 250 posts and have forgotten who’s done what Grin

I’m up a bit from my lowest weight Of 10st 9.4 . Weight has been fluctuating between 10st 9.8lbs and 10st 10.8lbs. Not full boot camp but no alcohol, grainy carbs, chocolate or cake. Have been having nuts though.

I’m patiently waiting for the Brand New Sparkly Boot Camp Thread Halo

Rayna37 · 17/04/2018 07:59

Right I need to give myself a stern talking to and maybe a bit of BIWI's big stick.

Tuesday weigh in 127.2lbs which means exactly one stone lost since 1st Jan. Great, but I've been cycling in and out of the 127's for over a month, and need to get strict if this last half a stone is going anywhere as even without cheating it would be harder to shift than the first bit. I remember thinking I'd be maintaining before the next boot camp started!

Goal weight 120lb by the END OF JUNE. I'm doing this.

AveAtqueVale · 17/04/2018 08:47

When is the next bootcamp starting?

Rshard · 17/04/2018 08:54

You can do it rayna. My goal for April is to get to 139 which will leave me 6/7lbs to my goal - shall we have a joint effort?

Not sure ave, I know May was mentioned but I think the plan is for it to end just before the school summer holidays so that would be a mid May start. I may have dreamt that though

LeapinLizards · 17/04/2018 09:17

Yes, mid-May was mentioned for next bootcamp.

Thanks for the info on the running, Time - that's very heartening to hear. Mind you, I'm going so slowly and such short distances that it may take a long time to make any difference. I'm just so scared of getting injured again that I'm being super-cautious. My stress levels are rising, though, so I may need to up my running.

For the first time in a long time, I have felt the call of the carbs, mostly the siren song of my old nemesis wine and its sidekick, crisps. I've even wanted toast, which is a new one to crave. I have had some wine, but not much and i've not given into crisps or toast. I know it's emotional. It really helps to recognise what's driving the craving.

Rayna good effort on the one stone loss.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 17/04/2018 09:31

I know there are some runners here - I have found the perfect non-perfect race for us (BIWI - you may want to stop reading now!!!). The good news is the next one isn't for another two years which gives us all plenty of time to get up to a half-marathon: here.

I was reading about someone who did it this year on FB, and she said that, not only do you get wine in your race pack, but some of the water stations also hand out wine en route!!!!! How amazing is that?

Rayna37 · 17/04/2018 09:53

Time I add this, in September? Grin

AveAtqueVale · 17/04/2018 10:09

I’m doing Couch to 5k at the moment - ran for 20 whole minutes yesterday Shock. I’m sure I could manage a half marathon if there was wine at the end Grin.

In other news I have carb flu from going back to strict bootcamp. I think. Or real flu, but hoping carb flu tbh as at least that will go away in a few days. I’ve been drinking bouillon - is there anything else I can do? I never had it when I started he first time so this feels unfair!

Bluntness100 · 17/04/2018 10:11

German wine marathon! What next British pub crawl marathon ? Love the idea. 😁

TimeIhadaNameChange · 17/04/2018 10:32

Thanks, Rayna! Not sure I'm up for a full marathon in September, but who knows? I'm sure the thought of alcohol would keep me going!

Well done, Ave! 20 mins is very impressive! Not long to go before you get to the 30 mins! Bet you thought that was impossible a few weeks ago, I know I did when I was doing it!

Blunt - now there's an idea!!!!!

Rshard · 17/04/2018 10:56

Wine and running - cool!

Well done ave on your couch25k progress, 20 minutes is great!

Rayna37 · 17/04/2018 11:20

Time I'm not up for a full marathon full stop, but I think that's the classic wine one, if you've money to burn.

4.4 miles running with the buggy ticked off this morning and it's getting much more comfortable. And we saw a puppySmile

ilovecherries · 17/04/2018 11:28

I am STILL at 11 stone 5 for what feels like the billionth week in a row. I’m not even fluctuating, I’m just sitting there. Can’t believe I’ve lost 5 stone to be taunted by that final stone. I’m trying to console myself that it’s giving my skin time to catch up, but really fed up. Shape is still shifting though - size 12 jeans from a few weeks back can now be pulled off and on without opening them, and the summer dresses I tried in a 12 are now also too big. Not quite into the 10 but def too big in the 12. And I’m itchy again, which experience tells me happens when I lose fat. But not a bloody ounce has come off for weeks.

Rshard · 17/04/2018 11:48

Very frustrating cherries! I’ve lost a measly 200g this week, I know it’s still a loss but these last lbs are so bloody stubborn!

Did you randomly see a puppy rayna or see one as in to have as a pet?

Rayna37 · 17/04/2018 15:31

Oh just random Rshard, always lots of dogs along the canal where I run but this was extra cute. I LOVE puppies but they're too much work and responsibility ...so I had a baby HmmGrin

Destinysdaughter · 17/04/2018 17:30

Greetings boot campers from sunny Marrakesh! It's been blue skies every day, so lovely, and it's very green, April is a good time to come. Today me and DP did a Moroccan cookery course. It was in the countryside at the villa of the French owner of the Riad. The cook took us to buy fresh spices, veggies and meat and then we made a 3 course meal in the garden by the pool. The food was delicious! Here are some pics. 😀

Bluntness100 · 17/04/2018 17:34

And the weight stalls are why I don't weigh, just use clothes.

Destiny that looks lovely!

Well ,my Nsvs are my work trousers are getting looser, everything waist down is great, I'm definitely still shrinking.

But,,,but, I still can't get my dresses fastened over my boobs. It's really fucking annoying, < smug grin falls away>

Rshard · 17/04/2018 17:40

Ok rayna, because babies are so easy......!

destinys, your holiday sounds and looks superb.

Nice NSV bluntness

ilovecherries · 17/04/2018 20:42

That looks amazing, Destiny. Food and location. Somehow I had never imagined it to be so green. It all makes me green as well. EnvySmile

MumOfAPickle · 18/04/2018 00:12

Can I slink back in please? Have had major slippage over the Easter holidays and unsurprisingly have put on weight. I've actually not been too bad with meal times but snacks have crept up steadily until I have been snaffling 3 or 4 lindor balls at a time or a handful of tangfastics. Not good and, as others have said, when will I bloody learn?!

It's been great to catch up with the thread and see so many of you still losing and sticking at it, it's fab to have a waiting support group here so that I can jump straight back into it. venus you look beautiful in your wedding dress and destiny I'm v.jealous of Marrakesh.

I am back on it and absolutely determined to nail this. I will lose what I've put on and a bit more by the start of the next boot camp and I will be a healthy bmi by the end of it.

TerfsUp · 18/04/2018 07:29

Apologies to DestinysDaughter. Thank you for your kind comments!

Bluntness100 · 18/04/2018 07:40

Morning all and welcome back mum of pickle.

So summer is on its way, are we all feeling ready for our summer clothes?

Yesteday I put on a black stretchy body conscious t shirt on, and actually felt surprisingly ok, you know that moment where you think "oh that looks alright".🙃

Summer is good motivation to KOKO,,,

AthelstaneTheUnready · 18/04/2018 08:48

Job interviews are also good motivation for KOKO! I have an unexpected one this morning, and despite putting 3lbs on over the weekend (celebrating with my parents), I can still fit into my best skirt. And what's more, it looks pretty good, which it certainly didn't four weeks ago, when I bulged out in all directions.

Welcome back, Mum!
