Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

Good morning!

Well, we've finally reached the end. Here's the spreadsheet, for the last time

It feels to me like it's been a really good Bootcamp, with lots of NSVs as well as success on the scales. Hopefully today sees another good reading on the scales too!

As I've said on previous threads, just because we've reached the end of this Bootcamp, it doesn't mean that we all just melt away - I'll keep this chat thread going and when it fills up, I'll start another general chat one, so there's always someone here for help and support as well as ongoing low carb stuff.

I'll probably put the big stick back in its cupboard for a while though Grin

Evening all, well party went well, I did eat off plan, but to be fair wasn't too bad, small bowl of pasta and drank vodka. Howcer today has been fairly epic in terms of failure. I've had a lot of chocolate and left over pasta. Sigh, I think it's lack of sleep and a bit of hangover. I'm not actually sure why I did it if I'm honest, I can't say I even enjoyed it. And my friggen thighs still ache.

So a good nights sleep and then I too am starting over tomorrow, back to the gym and eating healthily again.

People commented I'd lost more weight since they saw me three weeks ago but I suspect that was because I was wearing form fitting clothes this time and was not last time, one guy who hadn't seen me since late last year commented he couldn't believe how much weight I'd lost and that I'd looked great, which was nice.

However the friend I inadvertently offended has still not mentioned it. We seem to have moved past the offence and all is fine and friends again, but I suspect others are aware of the issue as we are a close knit group, any comments on weight loss are made quietly and when she's not in the room, so they also don't mention it in front of her. I dunno, not sure it's a healthy dynamic really, but it is what it is. Shortly it,will no longer be a conversation point, which is a positive.

Rshard I'm back on it tomorrow with you! My run was mediocre to say the least! But it was better than staying on the sofa I guess. I'm pissed off because at 9.11.4 I was 1.4lb away from goal. It shouldn't take long to shift but longer than if I hadn't transgressed!!

BlackMozart · 02/04/2018 21:18

Yes rshard I am back in too.

Rshard · 02/04/2018 21:36

Excellent! Glad there’s a few of us knuckling down.

Glad that things are ok with your friend again bluntness

BlackMozart · 02/04/2018 22:26

Have poured the last glass of wine in the bottle down the sink and thrown the last half a hot cross bun in the bin. Only to prove that I could as my eating and drinking today was seemingly out of control. A small act only but symbolic to me at least. Remaining dark choc Easter egg can go in DS’s brownies tomorrow rather than in me!

ilovecherries · 02/04/2018 22:51

I am starting back on super-strict bootcamp tomorrow for two weeks. I've been bouncing round my goal for 6 long weeks now, and I just want to nail it and then decide what's next. Haven't been eating carbs, but HAVE let the principles slip, and had not enough fat, plus too many meals on the go and just a lack of planning which ends up leading to a lean protein and salad. So food ends up low fat and boring. So proper meal planning, more fat and no ravenous snacking on nuts or cheese. Big meeting tomorrow but once that is over will have both head and practical space to knuckle down.

TerfsUp · 03/04/2018 07:50

Hi, everyone! I've just finished my ten weeks of strict bc and intend to continue this way. It will be great to have company.

Destinysdaughter · 03/04/2018 08:28

Hi I'm still here! Got 2 weeks before my holiday in Marrakech so gonna try and lose a few more pounds before then. Had a rather boozy Easter weekend so need to be a bit strict now! 😀

Rayna37 · 03/04/2018 08:28

I'm in for a super strict April! Glad to have lots of people on board. Anyone else joining me for dry April too? Drank too much last month after only 2 glasses of wine all Feb and think a month off will feel good. Got a quiet month really after lots of trips and social stuff so should be perfect.
My Tuesday weigh in, after I think 9 weeks now of bootcamp: 127.8lbs. 1.6lbs down on last week after gaining more going fairly wild on holiday, then losing 3.8 lbs on a 2 day egg fast. Did include mushrooms both days, leeks day 1 and kalettes day 2 ( and a couple of teas with milk) so not super strict but better I think and still effective.
Just under a stone lost since the beginning of the year, with about half a stone to go.

EeeSheWasThin · 03/04/2018 08:36

Rayna I’ll join you in super strict April...not the dry April though as I don’t drink anyway Need to get a grip. Lacking of planning, a bit of snacking, too much cream and dark chocolate. Have put a pound on. Pah. I’ve got a couple of events the last weekend in April Andy it would be good to lose 4/5lb before then.

Gammeldragz · 03/04/2018 08:38

Yesterday went fairly well, LC wise.

Breakfast - creamy coffee
Lunch - omelette (Leek, ham, chilli and rocket with mozzarella)
Dinner - lamb curry, made from scratch. Had with a very small portion of brown and wild rice. I don't like rice, but it was quite nice and chewy, I left half my small serving though.
Glass of wine.

Bluntness100 · 03/04/2018 08:45

Morning all, back on it today and rather relieved about it, getting back to "normal" I do feel better on this way of eating, and I like doing the gym, I just feel sluggish and bloated when I'm eating shit, so woke up thinking "right let's get this out my system".

Rshard · 03/04/2018 08:49

I’m in for dry April rayna. I’m getting my running mojo back too which I’m happy about. Even did a bit of parkrun tourism at the weekend while dd was at a swimming comp. Was great and I’ve found two more parkrun to do in Cardiff and Corby while she’s racing so looking forward to those.

Off to boots to weigh in soon

LeapinLizards · 03/04/2018 09:44

I'm back for a knuckle-down too. I was away over Easter and found it tricky - so hard when staying with people. Although I didn't really go off piste in terms of food, i ate way more than I would have done at home - a lot of nuts and cheese. And I had two small portions of wine, over two nights. The result? I've blimmin put on 3lbs in just a few days. Shock I was so close to goal as well.

However, I'm back on it now and going to try for an egg fast to get me back under the milestone. I saw someone had posted about egg fast earlier on the thread so going back to read that. And, other good news is that I have been green light to run again after a long spell of injury so, next week, when i might have childfree time, I am going to tentatively try jeffing.

Bluntness100 · 03/04/2018 09:58

Giving this some thought, I do think this thread helps keep the motivation and focus going, like you're not in it alone, but have an element of accountability, like a dear diary kind of thing,,,🤔

Rshard · 03/04/2018 10:03

I agree with the accountability bluntness.

Right, I’m 2lbs up from the end of boot camp at 144lbs. My goal for April is to get to 139lbs so 5lbs.

TerfsUp · 03/04/2018 11:05

I'm up for a dry April.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 03/04/2018 11:50

I saw my lowest weight for many, many years yesterday. Probably only because Sunday's dinner was pure alcohol. Whoops! I won't tell you how many carbs I stuffed into my face yesterday morning in an attempt to soak it all up.

In other news, I ran 10km on Sat, just for the pure hell of it then 6km on the treadmill this morning. I'm thinking of going in for a half marathon later on this year, but fear that may be a step too far...

Rshard · 03/04/2018 12:51

Well done time! Part of me would love to do a half but I’ve never had the guts to make the commitment! Good for you - is there one you have in mind?

LeapinLizards · 03/04/2018 12:57

Well done Time! That's fab

Bluntness100 · 03/04/2018 13:02

Congrats time!

And sounds like your Monday was similar to mine for many of the same reasons,,,🤣

RaininSummer · 03/04/2018 13:22

I have been incredibly crap this bootcamp - no excuses other than I don't do Winter and eating cake is one of my coping mechanisms. I have not gained weight though and apart from cake, have followed the low carb principles. Back on it now that spring is finally getting here and I can face salads and lots of water again. It has been an interesting experiment to find out what I can eat without gaining.

Well done to all you losers

TimeIhadaNameChange · 03/04/2018 14:17

Thanks!

Rshard - dunno, had convinced myself there was one in Inverness in September, but I seem to have made that up. There is one in Glasgow about then, so maybe I'll do that instead. I'm looking for one with no hills. I don't like hills, or, rather, my left knee doesn't. I "ran" down, and up, a 14% hill on Saturday and whilst not sore, my knee is still protesting about it. So the flatter the better. I really fancy doing London next year, but that's the full 26 miles...

Blunt - I'm glad I'm not alone! Hope you're feeling more with it today.

Rainin - winter can be hard when it's wet and cold outside and all you want to do is curl up and eat stodge. Well done for not putting any weight on, though. I'm sure you'll get some more off in no time. Roll on the summer!

ilovecherries · 03/04/2018 14:59

I've done well so far today. Breakfast/snack/elevenses was a coffee with cream on the train (had taken my own cream!). Lunch was a business meeting and as it was a buffet I managed to move around talking to people and no one commented on the fact I wasn't eating anything. Having a large slice of spiced veg frittata in the cafe now while waiting for train home.

Rshard · 03/04/2018 17:09

Probably much too far away from you time but I heard that Manchester half is very flat
