Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

BIWI · 19/03/2018 07:19

Good morning!

Well, we've finally reached the end. Here's the spreadsheet, for the last time

It feels to me like it's been a really good Bootcamp, with lots of NSVs as well as success on the scales. Hopefully today sees another good reading on the scales too!

As I've said on previous threads, just because we've reached the end of this Bootcamp, it doesn't mean that we all just melt away - I'll keep this chat thread going and when it fills up, I'll start another general chat one, so there's always someone here for help and support as well as ongoing low carb stuff.

I'll probably put the big stick back in its cupboard for a while though Grin

Hey, cherries. That is a great victory, indeed.

Ha, to vag rack. I think my vag has gone to rack and ruin. Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 28/03/2018 22:18

BIWI thanks, I’ll give the low carb tortilla a go. Nice way to change another egg dish and provide more texture and flavour.

Sending love and motivation to all (from my vag rack) Confused

Just dropping in to say ‘Hi’. I’ve enjoyed reading all about what you’ve all been up too.

Ive sts at 10 st 11lbs. Well, I’ve returned to that weight after putting on and losing 3lbs over 24 hours. I think this was due to eating some home made bread.

Does anyone know when the next bc starts?

BIWI · 28/03/2018 22:38

Probably some time in May

Thank you BIWI

I give you the pork tomahawk, possibly the most LCHF thing ever to grace a plate. I did start with some bread but had an incredible Cauliflower dish with hazelnuts as a starter I'm keen to recreate and some extra veg sides. Amazing. I think the waiter was quite impressed with me, he instinctively went to give this to DH Blush

Destinysdaughter · 29/03/2018 08:12

Haha that's a bloody massive piece of meat! 😀 Did you manage to eat all of it?

Rayna37 · 29/03/2018 08:23

I did. Nice place, so didn't pick it up and knaw it though Grin

Rshard · 29/03/2018 09:11

Wow rayna, that’s a whopper

We’re out in on Saturday night with swim parents as kids swimming miles away from home. Bella italia was the choice, oh no I thought but they do spiralised veg as an alternative to pasta. I was pleasantly surprised

Bluntness100 · 29/03/2018 09:24

Morning all. Huge lol at the old celeriac on the vag rack and the tomahawk is impressive.

Well I'm gonna come off this way of eating Sunday and get back on it Monday. I've ten folks coming over for a party and decided to make a huge bowl of pasta. This one will have cream, Boursin, Parmesan, bacon, mushrooms and peas and serve with garlic bread. It's so easy to do and it also means I can do the vegetarian version very easily at the same time.

So shall have a small bowl but also eat before they arrive so I don't go over board. I'll avoid the chocolate cake and have some of the cheese board. I'm also kinda hoping it will help if I have a small portion as I will be drinking and drinking and low carbing are not the best of friends really, 😔

VenusStarr · 29/03/2018 11:12

Hi all, just checking in to say I'm still going! Am 8lbs down on my start weight :) and only 1lb off my target. I have had a little bit of carb creep as was away last week so had some cake and hot chocolate a couple of times but finding that I can get back on it and not craving sweet things (and am at my lowest weight today since starting bootcamp). It's not a chore to eat this way and I can have what I want and feel satisfied.

I'm off today and just ordered eggs benedict and thought it won't matter eating a muffin but found I don't need it. Ate about a quarter of the muffin but the eggs and bacon were enough.

My wedding dress fits brilliantly so I'm happy :)

Good to keep checking in and seeing how everyone is getting on.

Ps: my other "issue" (if anyone remembers) is back on track again, more regularity :) so that's good too

ilovecherries · 29/03/2018 13:46

Wow, that is some piece of meat. Looks delicious.

Well done venus :)

BerylStreep · 29/03/2018 17:47

Hello all from skiing. Snow is fantastic although haven't skied as much as I would have liked. Knees holding up ok.

Food has been a bit of a struggle. I brought a picnic of boiled egg and mayo for lunch a couple of days, but am also relying on grostl which is Austrian bubble and squeak with a fried egg, heavy on the potatoes. My reasoning is that at least it isn't wheat based (lots of pizza, pasta and schnitzel on menus). Breakfast has been fine with cheese and ham roll up each morning and a boiled egg mashed with butter.

BerylStreep · 29/03/2018 17:47

Oh and meant to say well done on everyone's victories. Sorry I can't name check them all.

prettybird · 29/03/2018 20:57

I'm really Envy Beryl

I hope you have a wonderful time just wish I could be there too Envy

BTW: what is your dh doing? Did he stay at home?

Have I mentioned that I am Envy?

BIWI · 29/03/2018 22:32

Glad to hear that the snow's good, @BerylStreep

Rshard · 30/03/2018 07:01

Well done venus!

Glad you’re enjoying the skiing beryl

Bluntness100 · 30/03/2018 08:18

Morning...how's every one doing? Still KOKO? 🤔

TimeIhadaNameChange · 30/03/2018 09:31

I had the best day woe wise yesterday than I'd had for a while. I didn't have any cake!!!!! (I made some one on Sunday, but, as usual, ate most of it as DP will only have so much and I hate throwing it, but the hens had the last piece so it wasn't all bad.) I did have a pear, but that was as far as it went. Of course, I saw an increase on the scales this morning. Typical!

A friend took her weighted hula hoop into the gym and has left it there for me. Well, I never used to be able to hula hoop but I can now! However, my mid-drift is now covered in bruises. I've bought one for the office for when no-one else is in here so I'm hoping, if I do a couple of minutes most days the bruises will fade and my waist will decrease. Here's hoping!

ilovecherries · 30/03/2018 12:27

I have a weighted hoop, but no matter how much I try, can't make it work. When I was a kid I could hula for hours, but must persevere as my abs need some serious work.

Loose skin is suddenly starting to appear with avengeance. :( I got all the way from a BMI of 35 to 26 without any, but the last few pounds has proven too much for my poor body. I'm also not sure what is actually skin, and what is fat any more. Anyway, it all tucks away, and I'm hopeful there will be some recovery. Surgery not an option, so I just need to suck it up. The tops of my legs are bothering me more than my abdomen to be honest, which is still not that bad at all. And my arse is now completely flat. Literally nothing there and the skin that used to cover it is now down the back of my thighs. I do wish you could target where the last half stone should come off. I feel every once now comes off my face and my arse, whereas my boobs are still demanding a K cup, albeit in a 32 these days. Oh well, that's what clothes are for.

StuntNun · 30/03/2018 17:58

Cherries it took a long time, over six months, for my skin to catch up with my weight loss. I'm not saying it will all be perfect in the end but it will definitely be better than it is now. One way to help is to build up your muscle mass. I would also suggest investigating collagen; I make bone broth and I'm sure it's great for my skin and hair but I probably shouldn't mention that in case it's a sore point. Wink I would also look into skin firming creams and using a brush or something similar to increase circulation to your skin.
