Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

BIWI · 19/03/2018 07:19

Good morning!

Well, we've finally reached the end. Here's the spreadsheet, for the last time

It feels to me like it's been a really good Bootcamp, with lots of NSVs as well as success on the scales. Hopefully today sees another good reading on the scales too!

As I've said on previous threads, just because we've reached the end of this Bootcamp, it doesn't mean that we all just melt away - I'll keep this chat thread going and when it fills up, I'll start another general chat one, so there's always someone here for help and support as well as ongoing low carb stuff.

I'll probably put the big stick back in its cupboard for a while though Grin

Oh, that's lovely, Time.

BerylStreep · 26/03/2018 17:26

Haven't caught up on thread, but just checking from hols. Keeping to plan as best I can. Today:

B. Ham and cheese rolled together. Boiled egg mashed with butter. Coffee with cream

S. 1 latte. 1 coffee with cream

L. Boiled egg with mayo

4 glasses white wine. Blush. It was snowing.

D. Doner meat with lettuce.

TheWayOfTheWorld I jeffed my way round the Paris half marathon many years ago. I didn't know what it was called then, but it worked for me. Annoyingly I had only done it to lose baby weight and despite 3 months hard training I only lost 0.5 of a kilo. Angry

ilovecherries · 26/03/2018 18:12

PrettyBird and I can now confirm that neither of us are hairy trolls Grin. Was lovely to meet IRL!

prettybird · 26/03/2018 18:28

I can vouch for the fact that ilovecherries has the most gorgeous skin in real life (even better than in the photos) and looked slim and fabulous! Smile

We talked for hours about anything and everything! Grin

ilovecherries · 26/03/2018 18:30

I went back and bought that lipstick prettybird!

prettybird · 26/03/2018 18:38

Brilliant. It'll be interesting to see how your dd reacts to it.

It's part of growing in confidence as we shed our fat skins and emerge as swans women who say we are worth being noticed! Grin

prettybird · 26/03/2018 18:48

(I'm a baaaad influence, encouraging you to spend money Wink)

ilovecherries · 26/03/2018 19:07

She said ‘oh nice, can I borrow it?’ Grin

Plantlover · 26/03/2018 19:07

Rayna

Can you tell me more about egg fasting please?

Plantlover · 26/03/2018 19:08

Echilion shallots are currently 29p in lidl. Bargain!

prettybird · 26/03/2018 19:27

ilovecherries - you will need to check your packing when you leave again to check that she has not "borrowed" it Grin

YoLoHogwomanay · 26/03/2018 19:28

how lovely that you two met in person ilove and prettybird . BC is a friend-maker!! I totally agree about the self-caring mantra. BIWI!!!!

bluntness I laughed at your DD conversation. who says the younguns are a shallow lot!! Mine would be the same: noticing new car/new outfit/new phone above anything else!

time what a boost!!! So nice to get compliments like that.

My food log so far:
creamy coffee, ff Greek yog with nutmeg, cinnamon and spoon of 3 nut butter swirled thru
chicken mayo salad from EAT
2 almond milk coffees
a banana vegan wholemeal muffin. I know it was a bad thing but the lunch was too low in fat and I was hungry a couple hours later. no option to add oil or mayo.
not sure what is for dinner yet. probably eggs and spinach because a) ive eaten my carb allowance for the day and b) it will be late when i get home and I can't be bothered to cook a real meal.

SoMuchToBits · 26/03/2018 19:48

I've been so behind with the thread this week. Work has been totally manic, and I've been really tired. I worked 12 and a half hour shifts Sat and Sun, and a 6 and a half hour shift today. Yesterday had to get up at what felt like 4.30 am (was 5.30 but with clock change) and work has been non-stop.

I'm just pleased I'm eating low carb, as I haven't minded too much when there's been no chance to get a meal break, so long as I've been able to glug some water.

Haven't had a chance to weigh the last couple of days, but someone I bumped into at work yesterday told me she thought I was losing weight!

Good to see everyone else's news, sorry not to mention anyone specifically, but am too tired!

BIWI · 26/03/2018 19:48

@ShagMeRiggins You make a very good point about updating the spreadsheet. It's something I have never managed or curated, but I really should do more of that.

(Partly it's always because other Bootcampers have taken care of it and also because I'm afraid I might break it Grin)

I've got a packed lunch situation on the horizon for Friday. No access to a microwave either. I'd be grateful if folks could share their suggestions. Otherwise it'll be babybel and pepperami Grin

Rayna37 · 26/03/2018 21:34

Plantlover well I'm no expert and haven't done one before, and I'm not doing it 100% properly! Generally egg fasts are used to get past a stall rather than compensate for cheating and basically you only eat eggs, butter/coconut oil and a small amount of cheese; there have been specified ratios up thread I think or you can google it. You may want to add in some very low carb veg (or additional protein?) if doing for the recommended 5 days.

Today:
B: 2 eggs scrambled with butter
L: 2 egg omelette with some cheese and 2 small mushrooms in it. Bit of yogurt.
D: 3 rashers bacon, 2 fried eggs, fried mushrooms and half a grilled tomato. Plenty of water and a couple of hot drinks with milk.

Should undo some of the weekend excesses before heading off on our camper van/smart foodie hotel/friend's house/more campervanning trip to the south west!

SoMuchToBits · 26/03/2018 21:43

Brassica, my packed lunches are usually a salad. So something like prawn and avocado salad (with cucumber, cherry tomatoes, salad leaves, mayo) or chicken, bacon and avocado salad.

prettybird · 26/03/2018 21:51

BrassicaBabe - could you make a frittata and take a slice wrapped in foil?

Grimbles · 26/03/2018 22:13

BIWI for the next BC would it be possible to add a column for waist measurement? Just so that people who want to can use it as a guide to inch loss even if their weight isn't dropping?

Plantlover, for my egg fast I worked on 6 eggs, 80g of butter, up to 50g of cheese and mayo. A squirt of mayo helps up the fat content if you don't get through the butter. I also use a bit of mustard and hot sauce just to add a bit of zing to the eggs. You can start transitioning back to normal lchf from day 4.

Destinysdaughter · 26/03/2018 22:53

Packed lunch suggestions

Boiled eggs
Prawns
Peanut butter with celery or low carb crackers
Cheeses
Make some low carb brownies!
Savoury Egg muffins

ilovecherries · 26/03/2018 23:17

As cravings go, it's pretty benign, but I have a right notion for a tin of processed peas. I haven't eaten these since I was a child but the thought popped into my head an hour ago and is now firmly lodged there.

MumOfAPickle · 27/03/2018 00:01

Evening all, my food today:
B: 2 eggs with buttery sprouts
L: leftover beef and celeriac casserole with buttery spinach
D: tuna with broccoli and spinach
S: too much chocolate ☹️ All dark but still....it's my totm, first day today and the cravings were baaaaaad. And I've been a right grumpy arse.

Tomorrow is a another day!!

YoLoHogwomanay · 27/03/2018 00:19

I hear ya pickle I'm due on and the cravings have started . I ate 4 squares of dark choc today.

dinner in the end was chilli mackerel with butter fried sprouts, courgette and leeks with creme fraiche thrown in. Was good. And quick.

ilove tinned peas!!!! Shock with loads of sugar added no doubt! Of all the cravings..... Confused

My fantasy food this week is Danish pastry. saw some in the bakery yesterday and had a nostalgic pang. didn't buy one though!!

I revel in the fact I have to search out a greasy cafe that does a full English rather than a mere coffee shop which only does cake.

brassica pot of egg mayo or tuna mayo with some babygem lettuce and cucumber. Or the cold frittata idea already suggested. Or boiled eggs, cold sausage, green peppers and baby corn with mayo. Ham and cheese rollups with coleslaw. Corned beef and coleslaw (mixed up together is actually yummy) with olives on the side.

YoLoHogwomanay · 27/03/2018 00:20

I'm really just listing my fridge contents here ...
