Morning all Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet of fabulousness for you all

Many thanks to wombattoo and SayrraT for keeping the threads going while I was away.

Lots of people talking about how to deal with future events, especially Christmas, and this is something that's really important to think about. This is a tough time of year for low carbing. But it's also a tough time of year if you can't squeeze into your partywear - so you need to decide which is more important. Those roast potatoes or looking good Wink

Good luck everyone

Bloody hell, another week of STS. I'm a longterm bootcamper / bootcamp lurker but nudged up 8 pounds in late summer due to carb creep / taking a prolonged rest after training for a triathlon in the summer. I am pretty much back at target weight, so I shouldn't complain, but it's hard losing the last few pounds. I went to the supermarket today and didn't bring back the usual nemesises / nemeses (?).... double cream and nuts. I will abstain for a week and see what happens (other than quietly weeping at the loss of creamy coffee and nocturnal crunchiness)...

Well done everyone for SV, NSV and just KOKO Grin

starsky22 · 13/11/2017 20:49

data step away from the eclair!

Well done on all the losses, also really good to see lots of positivity from those staying the same or gaining. I'll be weighing in tomorrow and hoping for a good result, currently drinking more water to try and help!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 13/11/2017 21:00

If a tesco Belgian chocolate fresh cream eclair has 12g of carb in it is it something low carbers can eat in moderation???

Eclair. Twelve grams.

Do you really have to ask? Flowers Grin

HarlotsWeb · 13/11/2017 21:05

@twinkledag

Onion (shallot) soup recipe was made up as I went along, but broadly:

Twenty shallots roasted in their skins in some leftover goose fat
Once soft, de-skin them and put in a saucepan.
Add a tub of home made chicken stock that had been in the freezer for about three years.
Add two stems of thyme, sneakily picked on a trip round the garden centre
Add a massive lump of butter and a grating of Parmesan cheese.
Simmer.

It was delicious

Wh0KnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 13/11/2017 21:07

I'm not sure if this counts as an NSV or not really, but I did think it was quite funny. Yesterday when cooking tea I automatically got cream out of the fridge instead of milk and put it in the mashed potato. I was feeling quite virtuous for a second till I remembered I wasn't having it anyway. Shows I am getting into good habits though - I have been sneaking one or two cups of tea with milk in (at work) but have stuck to cream or almond milk in my coffee for the whole 5 weeks.

starsky22 · 13/11/2017 21:08

Ave Make sure you are drinking lots of water and I mean lots! You need lots on this woe, add on breastfeeding and you need even more. Milk supply is mainly about supply and demand, so as long as you are feeding regularly, then your supply will be fine, although it can sometimes take a couple of days to catch up if there is a change in demand. As long as you're not starving yourself, then your supply should be fine. Might be worth getting your little one weighed, but remember that lots of wees and poos are a good indicator that baby is getting enough.

Today:
B fasting
L steak with fried broccoli and sprouts and mayo
D chicken leg, roasted celeriac, cabbage and low carb gravy

Tried making my own mayo, tasted awful and very greasy, used cheap olive oil so think that may be where I went wrong, does anyone else make their own and if so, what oil do you use?

CremeDeSudo · 13/11/2017 21:17

So a literally couple of days of allowing myself carbs (seeing as nothing else seems to be appealing to me) and the bloating has returned plus the smelly fluffs! Blush Genuinely looking forward to cutting them out again!

sheepysheep · 13/11/2017 21:20

starsky I also tried olive oil the first time and it was really bitter and unpleasant. Since then I’ve just used cheapo veg oil and it is tasty (if a little sloppy compared to hellmans).

YoLoNovVitMe · 13/11/2017 21:39

harlots lol at stealing twigs of thyme from the garden centre! Grin girl after my own heart

Your soup recipe sounds fabulous!

Lizard202 · 13/11/2017 21:45

1.4lb off this week, moving in the right direction. @prettybird loved the time analogy definitely resonated with me ❤️

B fasting
L leftover braised beef, cauliflower cheese and courgette with chopped tomatoes and mozzarella
D ham and cheese chicken Kiev (with batter removed), cauliflower and broccoli (I know I need more fat, the fridge's babybels are calling)
2l water

starsky22 · 13/11/2017 22:02

sheepy interesting, I assumed I should be using more expensive oil, would you mind checking what veg oil it is, is it rapeseed oil, as the cheap veg oil I have in the house is rapeseed, so I could try that.

Lenl · 13/11/2017 22:30

NSV this evening. Was meant to run yesterday as part of my training for my (gulp) half marathon in March. Its a big one - the first non stop run of the plan (just 20 minutes but so far the longest I've had to run since starting again has been 8 minutes).

Anyway DS had a temperature last night and was miserable so I stayed with him. Therefore had to fit it in today. I had yoga this evening which happens to be just over 2 miles away, so DP dropped me off and I ran back(!!!).

I wouldn't go quite as far as saying I enjoyed it. But I didn't find it awful, and ran the whole time without stopping. Pretty sure that would have been very difficult 42lbs ago at my highest. Am running for fitness not weight loss but this woe makes me feel so good it really helps.

Aiming for 200lbs by Christmas. I'm nearly there.

BlackMozart · 13/11/2017 22:46

I’m no expert and others will come along and advise I’m sure but two things occur to me. Will it create a carb craving that is then hard to let go of? I know that is what I’d be worried about. The other is just a personal thing but Choux pastry generally and chocolate eclairs in particular just disappoint me. Chocolate’s too sweet and synthetic, cream’s too fluffy and bun is just bland. They look lovely but don’t deliver on taste or texture or anything. I’m sure if you’re thinking about it then you probably love them but will it be worth it? And a supermarket one? If you’re going to do it I’d be inclined to find a proper patisserie and buy one small profiterole. Smaller and perhaps more delicious? But probably don’t do it 😊

BlackMozart · 13/11/2017 22:49

Sorry that was for data obvs

Mimosa1 · 13/11/2017 22:57

Aargh up 200g for 77.2kg. I WILL get past this though. Very if things don't move soon though, I'll join you on the egg fast. NSV is I did much better on the water today though. 2L maybe more. DH bought me a lovely water bottle I keep on my desk at work and I'm finding it much easier than when I was at home.

Pretty that was me! Or rather my first boss, who encouraged me to take a qualification that's I thought would take ages, about 15 years ago now. He is a lovely man and we're still in touch a couple of times a year. He and his wife came to my wedding even though I've not worked for him for ages. I shall have to tell him he's bootcamp famous Wink

prettybird · 13/11/2017 23:15

Mimosa - glad the right person has come along to take the credit! GrinFlowers

Data - I had a "free" eclair from John Lewis on a previous Boot Camp. It was horrible Shock Really, really not worth it! Hmm should have had the lemon drizzle cake Wink Since then, I've given away the free cake you get periodically with the John Lewis card and just enjoyed the coffee. It makes you feel particularly virtuous giving away cake! Halo

AveAtqueVale · 14/11/2017 00:06

Thanks starsky - v good advice with the water! I know I’m not drinking enough.

In other news I stole two one of the small dairy milk bars FIL keeps bringing for DS1 because I woke up from a nap absolutely ravenous and made a hangry beeline for them. So not worth it - currently being kept awake by a pounding headache. Will not be repeating.

Moanranger · 14/11/2017 00:40

Congratulation to all ho are still here - losers, stayers & STSers. I stayed the same this week, but had a couple of NSVs in putting on a jacket that was defo looser than the last time I wore it & pulling off my jeans without unzipping them. They didn't feel particularly loose, but that is the trouble with clothes with spandex in them (mom jeans) as they shrink or expand with your shape!
At any rat, I am moving towards a fasting type of regime, where I eat twice a day with a long interval between, toda-
B- juice of 1/2 lemon in hot water
L- egg (2) Mayo with salad leaves
D -burger patty on lettuce, 5 cherry tomatoes, cheese, may.jo, all eaten by 5:45. Won't eat again til tomorrow late morning

HarlotsWeb · 14/11/2017 05:26

Well done moanranger. I had something similar last week, where a winter coat unexpectedly zipped up easily, and then just felt much looser on me.

Hippadippadation · 14/11/2017 06:22

Gah how annoying. Weighed this morning and the 2lbs I lost midweek have gone back on, despite being ill all weekend! This is why the scale lies people!!

Ave why were you so hungry after your nap? Why was a chocolate bar easier to grab than say a slice of ham or babybel?

Well done on your running Lenl which half are you doing?

Wh0KnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 14/11/2017 07:09

Ha, 1.4lb down on yesterday. I made a real effort with water yesterday, unlike the weekend.

sheepysheep · 14/11/2017 07:20

startsky I just checked - it’s rapeseed oil. I like it. But I prefer decent instant coffee over posh proper stuff so I may not have a very developed palate Grin

AveAtqueVale · 14/11/2017 07:44

Hippa we literally had nothing in except food for dinner and that felt too far away Blush - need to do a big shop this morning! Not sure why I was so hungry as I’m not usually but have a stinking cold atm so maybe that’s why. Back to day 1 today in any case!

Cherrypi · 14/11/2017 07:51

Last night’s food discovery was kale with oil and salt cooked in the oven is delicious. Bit like the “seaweed” in Chinese restaurants. So tired but resisting the carbs so far.

ilovecherries · 14/11/2017 08:06

Ran. Drank and litre of water. Walked dog. Feeling virtuous and it's barely 8am.
