Morning all Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet of fabulousness for you all

Many thanks to wombattoo and SayrraT for keeping the threads going while I was away.

Lots of people talking about how to deal with future events, especially Christmas, and this is something that's really important to think about. This is a tough time of year for low carbing. But it's also a tough time of year if you can't squeeze into your partywear - so you need to decide which is more important. Those roast potatoes or looking good Wink

Good luck everyone

Checking in with today’s food
B - cheese omelette salmon (late)
L - ff total yoghurt with cream and vanilla powder
D - cottage pie with swede top, cauliflower Brussels

wombattoo · 16/11/2017 21:15

ilove take the medication. I hope you feel better soon Thanks

Wh0knows The only veg I put butter on is cabbage. I would soon tire of the greasiness otherwise. I eat fat in other ways - such as the natural fat on my meat or mayo with salad/eggs, occasionally a spoonful of double cream. I don't really like sauces on my food either. It hasn't prevented me from losing weight.

I eat pretty much like SoMuch. My DH just adds the odd potato/Yorkshire pudding or flatbread to his meals.

Welcome dameglittersparkles awesome name! Have a read of the spreadsheet for lots of useful info, link is on the first post. I'm not very keen on salad, so have eaten hardly any over the last 5 months, but have still lost 2.5 stone, there are so many other lovely foods you can eat on this woe so you'll be fine!

starsky22 · 16/11/2017 21:28

So after my reaction to the Eat turkey hot pot yesterday, I felt awful all evening, bloated, tired and cold, so I went on the Eat website to check the ingredients to see if it had wheat in case that is what I reacted to, no mention of wheat/gluten, but it does contain sulphites!? So, I am now wondering if I have a sensitivity to sulphites, had a quick google and most of the online stuff talks about sulphite allergy causing asthma attacks, which I don't have, but stomach pains/diarrhoea etc can be a symptom. I've had IBS for a while now and never worked out what my triggers were, it has been better on this woe, but not completely gone and I've had episodes where I couldn't work out what I could have eaten to cause it and sulphites are hidden in quite a few things. Plus I have always had difficulty with wine, which always contains sulphites. Not sure it is something that can be tested for and can't find much info about it online, but am going to keep a diary of symptoms and try and work out if there is a link.

StuntNun · 16/11/2017 21:28

Whoknows my DS1 is 14 and has autism and baked beans seem to be the most repellent food in existence for him. I put just one on his plate recently (not touching any of the other food) and he couldn't eat until he had scraped it off into the bin.

Grimbles · 16/11/2017 21:33

Evening all Smile

B. Fasting
S. Handful of peanuts, pork scratchings, creamy coffee
D. Doner kebab, salad, garlic mayo

3 litres of water, smashed it Grin

HarlotsWeb · 16/11/2017 21:34

B creamy coffee and Parma ham
S almonds
L beef and aubergine masala
S tiny benecol drink Blush
D bolognese and courgettes

SoMuchToBits · 16/11/2017 21:38

That's interesting starsky, regarding the sulphites. One of the good things about this WOE is it does encourage us to eat proper food cooked from scratch, so we end up eating fewer foods with additives like this. I wonder whether that's why so many of us are finding good "side effects" of this WOE as well as losing weight.

It would be great if you can find out what triggers your IBS, so you can then avoid whatever it is.

SoMuchToBits · 16/11/2017 21:40

My lunch today was salmon baked with aubergine, courgette and pepper. Dinner was Bolognese with sautéed leeks and courgette.

Kleptronic · 16/11/2017 21:42

Thanks starsky a lot to ponder there!

Welcome dame!

starsky22 · 16/11/2017 22:06

Somuch I hadn't heard of sulphites allergy before, so was really interesting reading about it. I definitely think the fact that I am eating less processed foods/take-aways etc on this woe would have helped me avoid sulphites. I have to be honest that I was hoping that cutting out bread/pasta etc would cure my IBS and had been a little disappointed that it hadn't, so I am feeling quite excited that I may have found a possible trigger for my IBS!

BlackMozart · 16/11/2017 22:13

Yes welcome to dameglittersparkles there is brilliant support on here.
B leftover celeriac and aubergine mash, mixed with some black pepper Boursin and made into a cake and fried. Fried egg on top. Coffee
L picked at Serrano ham and cheese
D roasted cauliflower and leek and hard boiled two eggs and cut in half. Put the whole lot in small oven proof dish covered in cheese sauce (from the IPD recipe book) grated a bit more cheese over and baked for 15/20 mins. It was good. Enough for tomorrow too
S coffee and 2 squares 85% dark chocolate. Mindfully chose to eat it as TOTM really making me a bit miserable. Happy with that choice and no desire to eat more.
Water, water, water.

Have got a potentially tricky weekend and week ahead coming up. With friends for lunch on Saturday but have let the host know i’m Low curbing but also that she doesn’t need to cater for me as I can take something. I’m the baker of the group so will be taking a cake/pudding for the rest of them and taking some dark choc for me. Sunday have MIL’s birthday. Lunch will fine as SIL always does roast with salad and veg as well as lots of carby stuff which I can avoid. Am making the birthday cake but again I will ignore it. Next week in Scotland for work for a few days in a hotel and I’m sure I can find things that will fit so fingers crossed I will come through the whol lot unscathed. 😊

BlackMozart · 16/11/2017 22:20

Low curbing...hmmm sounds interesting.

BrassicaBabe · 16/11/2017 22:49

Not a bad day I think. I managed to have no wine tonight. Heavens it makes me grumpy! I’m reading that Jason Vale book about giving up alcohol. It makes me want to drink!! Once I got over the first “reach for the fridge door” moment I wasn’t too bad. Contrary to many I get the munchies when I dont drink!

I think I’m going to reevaluate my goal (and crazy move clearly isn’t coming from the wine!). I started BC at 11.3 with a goal weight of 10.6 I’ve made it to 10.7 (on some days Smile). Thinking I’ll aim for 10.2 as that’ll be 10% off. I’m 5’7”.

How do other pick their goal weight?

BrassicaBabe · 16/11/2017 22:58

Google is a bad place GrinSad This site suggests I should be aiming for 9.8 Shock

www.calculator.net/ideal-weight-calculator.html?ctype=standard&cage=44&csex=f&cheightfeet=5&cheightinch=7&cheightmeter=180&printit=0&x=120&y=22

Going to be happy in the direction I’m heading before worrying about that one I think!

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 16/11/2017 23:28

Had a bit of a weird day today. Had a product testing thing tonight and I knew I was getting a meal but I signed up anyway as I wanted the cash and just planned to eat around the carbs... Obviously it was a bowl of pasta! Fail!

I ate about 1/3 to be fair and give my opinion. Definitely more than 60g today though.

B- celery with cream cheese and pate
L- skipped as too busy
S- tika chicken strips
D- penne pomodore.
Supper- just had an avocado with cream cheese as pasta made me hungry and I felt I needed to up my fat macros.

Be interesting to see if I’ve gained tomorrow.

I don’t feel like I’m adding fat to lots of stuff anymore who. I am eating a fair bit of cream cheese but most of the stuff I’m cooking I am just being generous with the coconut oil or butter when I am starting off. Not adding loads extra.

Curries are quite good for hiding fat in.

Lizard202 · 16/11/2017 23:32

Ah @ilovecherries I feel your pain mine was locking on and off for ages then it went for 18 months. After 18 months of telling me it was muscular and prescribing strong anti-inflammatories they finally did an Mri scan and it had dislocated! A quick op under a general and never had a problem since. When I start grinding (or clenching teeth which I also do) I wear a mouth guard, might be worth getting the dentist to make you one, it helps reduce the impact on your tmj. I really hope it eases up soon, it's miserable 😔

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 17/11/2017 00:15

is a interesting read. For pointing out how hard sulphite allergies are to define

YoLoNovVitMe · 17/11/2017 00:23

ilove Flowers

whoknows batch cook on a Sunday. I do chicken thighs and pork belly quite often then reheat in the week and just chop and freshly stir fry random veg to accompany which takes 10 mins. Its super quick. Also I bung stuff in the oven so 10 mins prep then leave it to cook while you do other things. Easy examples are Swede chips, cauliflower, broccoli, sausages, chicken. Chop and chuck in oven tray all together. Add garlic, paprika or curry spices, or just salt and pepper, good drizzle of oil and no effort at all. Add cubed potatoes and carrots for the kids.

Wh0KnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 17/11/2017 06:21

Sundays are largely spent with the DCs doing sports but I could double up on what I do do then and freeze some. Of the ingredients you have listed there Yolo the only one DS will eat is chicken (and spices).

Rshard · 17/11/2017 06:39

brassica, I’ve been thinking about my goal recently. I’m only 5, 2 so my BMI healthy weight is between 136 and 103lbs, the lower end in my opinion is ridiculous and completely unsustainable. I’m also mindful that I’m almost 44, so don’t want to end up with a gaunt scraggy face because it’s not a good look is it. So for now I’ve decided upon 9, 7 which is 133lbs as I think that’s achievable and gives me a small window within the healthy BMI. I might alter as I get ther but that’s my aim for now.

Rshard · 17/11/2017 07:06

Oh and welcome aboard dame

Mimosa1 · 17/11/2017 07:26

Brassica and rshard - my ultimate goal is 68kg, which is 3 kg off the upper end of my BMI, and what I weighed as a teenager and I thought I was fat!! It's 5kg more than when I moved in with my now DH and 8kg more than the calculator Brassica posted Shock but I'd still be delighted with it. It's not achievable on this BC so I'll be signing up for then next one (Biwi - am I right that depending on your commitments you usually run one in Jan?) and likely the next! For this BC, my goal is 74kg. I've lost 10kg in 4months so I'm feeling much happier in my clothes, especially having just gone back to work, and having recently spent just under £500 on a new wardrobe. I hadn't bought any new clothes for 2 years except maternity clothes off EBay so it was a real treat and needed some -lots of- work friendly things. I was thinking about this last night - if I do reach goal, I'd feel guilty about re-buying a new wardrobe but then I thought "that's crazy" if I reach goal, I certainly will go on a shopping spree!
