Morning all Smile

Well done for reaching week 5, hopefully by now low carb eating should be pretty natural to everyone.

Just watch out for complacency, don't think "oh a wee bit won't hurt" it might!

If you need food inspiration (some people might find they are eating the same things and getting bored) check out the recipe thread or one if the many low carb/keto websites for ideas.

Good luck everyone Smile

prettybird ah right.** So it could either neither or both!!! Grin

poorbuthappy · 10/11/2017 19:33

And as for the leftover celeriac dauphinois freezing well I wouldn’t know as we eat every single scrap. Smile
Am just about to eat a bowl of celeriac mash

ChinchillaFur · 10/11/2017 19:34

Lovely to see c4 back and still LCing after such an ordeal!

I have been in the pub (1st time on BC) for our post ofsted survival drink! I had 2 gin and slimline tonics and 1 tiny mini twirl chocolate from a Heroes tub. Not sure what the effect will be but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Will aim for a brilliant weekend with lots of veg and butter

RaininSummer · 10/11/2017 19:45

Not been posting much but just read a couple of pages. So pleased to see C4 back. Scales slowly moving.

BIWI · 10/11/2017 19:53

Welcome back @C4. Glad you're back in the land of the living, though I'm sorry you're more indisposed than before.

I've caught up with everything, now, I think! It takes a while though.

When I first started Bootcamp, back in 2012, I was working for myself -so working from home - and I had a lot more time to mess around post on Mumsnet. I often feel very guilty about how much time I devote to Bootcamp now, as my job does take much more of my time, especially as I do more travelling, and I also have to commute to work, as opposed to crossing from my bed to my desk Grin

But what I realise, reading back through the last two week's chat threads, is just how genuinely supportive and insightful you all are. I'd like to take my hat off to you, and thank you all, because you are all what makes Bootcamp what it is.

Flowers

And now I'm off to get my big stick so that normal service can resume Wink

Grimbles · 10/11/2017 20:14

Evening all, and good to have you both back BIWI and c4Smile

2nd day of IF and it's surprising how easy it is, because I eat dinner late a 16hr fast would take me through to 2pm, but i finish work at 3pm and am ok to wait til I get home to eat. Im not sure if it's because I am busy at work but I don't feel hungry at all beyond a couple of short-lived pants which go after a glass of water.

B. Fasting
L. The burger from a maccy d quarter pounder
D. Naga prawn curry with cheesy spinach and mushroom bhaji

Definately hit the water target today too.

SoMuchToBits · 10/11/2017 20:20

Today, lunch has been bacon, eggs, mushrooms, spinach and a tomato. All cooked in butter.

Dinner has been a chicken Garam Masala from the diet doctor website, which I had with sautéed leek and sprouts. It was lovely!

Still drinking plenty of sparkling water with a slice of lime.

BIWI · 10/11/2017 20:30

Sounds lovely, @SoMuchToBits! No big stick needed there.

Gammeldragz · 10/11/2017 20:58

Short post as am recovering from BC abs workout (see bootcampers get toned thread).

10:30am - curry and kale (for some reason I was hungry, don't usually eat this early).
1pm - creamy coffee
4pm - Greek yog and cream.
6pm - chili on fried cabbage (butter and olive oil).

TempusEejit · 10/11/2017 21:04

I've just read that radishes become nice and mild when they're roasted. Was thinking they might be a good low carb addition to a roast dinner (I usually spend a few carbs on a couple of chunks of parsnip) - has anyone tried them?

Escapepeas · 10/11/2017 21:05

Checking in! Hello to everyone and hope you're all doing well.

I've not been around much but I'm still low carbing. I forgot to weigh myself last week, but this week I had lost another lb so it seems my weight loss is at around 1lb a week which is OK.

I've started exercising more in the last two weeks as well, doing 2-3 aerobic sessions per week, plus a couple of gym sessions too. I'm trying to get my fitness back up as I want to start running again in January.

My appetite though has disappeared this week. I've been eating scrambled eggs for breakfast, but have really had to make myself eat a salad for lunch and a light dinner. Is this normal?

In terms of recipes and food, I'm getting better at adapting normal recipes to be low carb and DH actually now prefers cauli rice! Getting well fed up with prawns and salmon from M&S for lunch though so I'm going to start making my own lunches and have been searching for low carb veggie stews/soups.

This recipe is fab - quick and delicious:www.olivemagazine.com/recipes/healthy/cajun-prawns-with-pineapple-salsa/

Although I haven't lost a lot of weight, I feel a lot less bloated and my clothes feel looser.

Veryflummoxed · 10/11/2017 21:39

@TempusEejit not had them for a long time (glad you reminded me) but roast radishes are lovely
@Escapepeas loss of appetite very usual. It’s what makes LCHF so easy (that and the delicious food).

TempusEejit · 10/11/2017 21:42

Hi escape, glad you're doing well! Totally normal to lose your appetite on this WOE. Once you're past the first two weeks of bootcamp you don't need to eat three meals a day if it doesn't work for you, just make sure you still take in enough calories/fat etc (e.g bulletproof coffee, fat bombs etc).

TempusEejit · 10/11/2017 21:45

Ooh thanks Very, I will give the radishes a go. They get mixed reviews on the recipe websites but we all seem to like the same kind of food here on bootcamp so I kinda trust you lot Grin

YoLoNovVitMe · 10/11/2017 21:46

Is the infection gone or at least on the way out c4 ? I do hope so. Good to have you back.

It's so great to hear about those close to target. Slightly envious but inspired to believe it will be me one day. Though it feels like more of a fantasy that I could at some point be 'not a fat person any more' . I don't know what that feels like.

Koko you lovely folks.

Escapepeas · 10/11/2017 22:11

Thanks Tempus & Very! I’ll make sure I add other things to keep up the calories.

HarlotsWeb · 10/11/2017 22:15

B creamy coffee and the inside of a Greggs sausage roll (pastry discarded)
L turkey and braised red cabbage (no sugar in the braise)
D steak, chimichurri butter, mixed salad, a spoonful of smashed pumpkin, and, frustratingly, a single chunky chip (had dinner out with a friend in an Argentinian restaurant).

FurryTurnip · 10/11/2017 22:36

B: fasted, first time I've managed it as usually ravenous first thing
L: cauli rice with leek, courgette, mushrooms, cream and stilton
D: boiled eggs and half a buttered protein roll
S: Greek yogurt with blueberries and tiny bit of grated dark chocolate

Kleptronic · 11/11/2017 00:03

I hope you can get your lungs back C4 to where they were. I'm glad you're still here x well done on the fighting to live x

Veryflummoxed · 11/11/2017 02:14

@TempusEejit I also like turnip roasted. Another mild flavour.

Veryflummoxed · 11/11/2017 02:20

Sorry, can’t remember who posted the picture of the protein roll for me but thanks, I’ve finally located them. Didn’t buy though, I’m saving that for maintenance in the far future.

@C4rollinandventing thinking of you and so glad you are back with us.

Rshard · 11/11/2017 06:39

Yesterday’s food
B - bacon and buttery eggs
L - roll iris from M&S - lovely
D - chilli prawns and burger from prezzo - no bread, bun or fries. Glass white wine

Almahart · 11/11/2017 06:39

Was out last night for a hen do meal do had a planned cheat night as I knew this was coming up when I started this boot camp

I had calamari for starter, jerk chicken for main course and ate about five chips. I didn't have any pudding and didn't miss it. Four glasses of wine. Cream tea today will possibly be harder and I might mindfully cheat if it looks delicious but probably won't.

Rshard · 11/11/2017 06:43

It’s all about the planning for nights out isn’t it alma, having a look at the menu and making a good choice.

Tiddlywinks63 · 11/11/2017 07:13

So glad to hear you're back home C4, I've been very much thinking of you 💐
Having reached my goal weight (and I haven't been that for many years) I reckon I could do with loosing another half stone, so onwards and downwards 😃
I'm starting proper meal planning today for the first time in my life better late than never! rather than the ad hoc hit and miss habit to now.
