Not sure my weight story is that interesting as this time I was just trying to get back to goal after the summer. Anyway, just in case, in Jan 16 I was pushing 11 stone and that motivated me to do something. Unfortunately I didn't know about bootcamp at that point.
I lost weight slowly on a low carb diet - about 8lb by September. I also had a pretty serious thing wrong with my spine so all exercise was off the cards (I used to be a runner) so I was reasonably happy but there was a lot more to lose.
I then decided to get on with it and did a low cal low carb diet which is about the only way I can actually lose 2lb a week, being 5' 2" and in my late fifties.
I reached goal of 8st 7lb just before Christmas, and I have maintained it all year* by doing 5:2 and by being moderately low carb. I don't have a big sweet tooth, and I'm happy eating low carb at home, so I just relaxed a bit on meals out and wine, and then Mon / Tue came along and anything I'd put on dropped off.
*This failed to work on holiday with no fast days, so I put on 7lb over the summer in 3 lumps.
Then I joined this bootcamp at 9st, and knowing I find it so hard to lose, I was very strict in both portion size and in snacking, and carried on exercising - I lift weights 3 x a week, as well as the dog walking. I know not what you’re supposed to do but I’m experienced at low carb, never suffer, and wanted a Big Bang approach to start with.
I've been so pleased with how bootcamp has gone - better than I dared believe. I'll continue with BC Lite and some fasting and hope to drop a ½ to 1 pound a week from now on in a more sustainable way. (Until goal of course!)
The only fat photo I have is the motivational (demotivational?) one I took in Jan 16, and the success photo is from about Nov that year - don't have anything for this time, but I'm at the same weight as in that photo - just before goal.
WARNING - the before photo may put you off your dinner. This may of course be a good thing!
