I love this week, because this is when all the naysayers and doubters realise that this WOE really works!

(... and those who've cheated realise that that really doesn't work Wink)

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to record your first loss

I missed most of this weekend as I have my very lovely SIL staying with us, prior to her leaving for a 6 month stint in Australia. So I haven't been able to be as glued to the laptop as I am usually.

Glad to hear that some of you have reported in good losses already - I'll look forward to hearing the rest today!

Good luck everyone, for this second week. Hopefully after a good first week you'll know it's worth it Flowers

That dinner sounds gorgeous ragz, how did you make it please?

Thiswillbemyusername · 18/10/2017 19:46

Evening. Just popping in to log my food

L: pork scratchings and epoisses
D: chicken, bacon, leeks, asparagus, feta in cream.

I had a glass of cherry cordial earlier and it gave me a headache Sad won't be doing that again. I threw the bottle away; I only had a bit left and I was saving it until I could tolerate carbs again.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 18/10/2017 20:05

@CremeDeSudo
Try bullet proof coffee with cacao butter instead of coconut gives its a mocha taste and is all fat so as a filling cup its brilliant.

Mimosa1 · 18/10/2017 20:11

Popping in to share how completely delicious the Leeks I made for dinner were

  • pan fry leeks with oil and butter
  • season
  • stir in Delouis aioli (garlic mayo)
Food of the Gods!

Still can't believe this is a diet.
I'm only just starting my water for the day though so lots to drink between now and bedtime!

CremeDeSudo · 18/10/2017 20:14

Thanks @Grah do you have a recipe?

ALJ78 · 18/10/2017 20:17

Hi this is my first time on lchf, just wondering if anyone finds that the week before period and week during period can adversely effect the weight loss? Thanks x

Frigglet · 18/10/2017 20:23

Quick pit-stop to post my intake for today.

B - none
L - broccoli, mushrooms, salami bake with huge dollop of mayonnaise
D - butter-fried beef with mushrooms on bed of cauliflower rice

Snack - pork scratchings
About 2L water

Having read various posts about if and when to weigh, Weekly works best for me as it keeps me motivated until the next weigh-day. Smile

Gammeldragz · 18/10/2017 20:42

rshard I mixed meatballs with a jar of red pesto, baked for 15 mins, put mozzarella on top and baked it until cheese was golden and bubby and meatballs cooked. Then served it on fried kale... My recipes aren't fancy, lol

BIWI · 18/10/2017 20:49

@ALJ78 yes it can do. Often you need to up your water, as this helps with bloating

Ok

takes deep breath

I took dd3 to macdonalds after training and I had a Swiss stack. I didn't eat the bun (even though most of the cheese had melted into it Sad) so it was lettuce, mayo, beef patty, cheese and bacon. Not too bad right?? It was my dinner begs forgiveness

Veryflummoxed · 18/10/2017 21:15

Scabbersley that’s fine.* If you ask they’ll give it to you bunless then you don’t loose the melted cheese.*

My food today was
B Left over stir fry
L asparagus soup
D chicken goujons (egg wash and almond flour) fried cabbage and celariac mash.** (It was lovely too)

Veryflummoxed · 18/10/2017 21:16

There really are gremlins aren’t there. It’s not just me making a total hash of it?

ASDismynormality · 18/10/2017 21:19

ALJ78. I generally gain a couple of pounds before my period but once it's starts I have a fairly decent drop in my weight.

ASDismynormality · 18/10/2017 21:21

Scabbersley. I've had a bunless burger in McDonald's more than once, must admit I tend to order from the self service machines so I do t actually have to ask a person!

Scabbersley · 18/10/2017 21:24

Ah! Good to know! I don't intend to make a habit of it.

starsky22 · 18/10/2017 21:40

Just wanted to thank everyone for their support earlier, it really helped and I happily avoided all cake, sandwiches and crisps, just drank water and then had my low carb lunch afterwards.

NSV my hip bones were visible when I was doing the bridge in pilates today, they're usually pretty well hidden!

Today:
B fasting
L salmon, pumpkin & broccoli
D chicken wrapped in Pancetta, pumpkin and creamy spinach

JumpingIntoLCHF · 18/10/2017 21:52

Sorry to ask again... I know someone kindly said they'd added my Monday weight to the spreadsheet but it doesn't seem to have worked. Please could someone put 251 for me? I think that's what it was! Thanks

NutButterNutter · 18/10/2017 22:03

Thanks for the fluctuation posts - makes me feel much better and totally makes sense.

Tottyandmarchpane1 · 18/10/2017 22:22

B: scrambled egg with ham
L: Brie, veg, ham
D: haddock with veg

Am getting a cold and am achy. Wondering what to drink that is not my usual go to honest and lemon to soothe throat. Is lemsip ok?

Almahart · 18/10/2017 22:34

Easy food day today

Ff yoghurt for breakfast
Broccoli and blue cheese soup for lunch
Turkey cakes and wasabi guacamole for dinner (Ottolenghi recipe)

Feel like I'm getting into the swing of this. Not missing booze at all now which is amazing. That said I weighed myself before bed (I know) and was up three pounds from last night but I have been cheating by eating 99% dark chocolate (8g per 100)

singadream · 18/10/2017 22:53

A good day except I am having a glass of very nice wine to celebrate dc's birthday and that we have got through a difficult few years since the birth intact as a family.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 18/10/2017 23:04

@CremeDeSudo
Hot Coffee
Butter 1tbsp or more for creamy taste
Cacao butter 1/4tsp strong flavour so start small.

Blend for a couple of seconds.

If using a cup blender be quick as pressure builds up from the coffee.

Oncewaswho · 18/10/2017 23:07

Just checking back in to say that despite my bread and rice lapses as described this morning I have managed to stay positive today and avoid all non-veg carbs apart from milk in two cups of tea. Despite DH making dinner tonight of macaroni cheese, garlic bread, peas and carrots. I had to plead "not hungry" and leave the family to it. Luckily I actually wasn't hungry, in fact I'm not keen on macaroni cheese anyway, but I have had some cheese and ham tonight instead.

C4rollinandventing · 18/10/2017 23:16

I haven't rtft yet but have had an odd day, phone call first thing from the hospital to tell me I'm very deficient in vitamin D, hardly surprising when you add up the weeks I've spent in hospital or at home in bed recovering. I hate to say these words but I know I'm not well, nothing obvious and my sats are ok but this year has taught me one thing and that is that my condition can deteriorate rapidly and I mustn't delay getting to critical care. I hate my broken body sometimes.
I do have a NSV I had to take two links out of my watch strap today, it made me feel really good.
Clothes shopping tomorrow with my PA, along with the resuscitation bag, ventilator, suction machine and sats monitor.

Sayrra Oh damn I thought I was the first person to call someone a carby twat, I do lay claim to gammeldag and #myfatcanpissrightoff with confidence** though.
I definitely think that next time you go away you should take one of us with you I think with nobody shouting "carby twat" at you means you relax just a little bit more than is good for you.
30lbs is a huge loss, focus on that rather than the twatty 10lbsGrin

Ilovecherries fantastic progress, well done

Welcome coco

Scabersley* Almond milk is passable in tea but I've got used to taking it black and enjoy it as much as I ever did. I'm a huge coffee drinker too but this bootcamp I've ditched caffeine and most dairy. It's been a bitch but I'm starting to feel a lot better for it.

I will get on with catching up on everyone's posts.

SayrraT · 18/10/2017 23:47

Yes c4 those are definitely yours!
