A better day here for me. No carby twattiness. And no wine twatiness.

Even did cheese and crackers this evening for DH and I just had some cheese. He had wine but I just said no thanks.

Just need t keep it up!

C4pinkwheels · 18/09/2017 21:59

Yes disciple Hippa of the House of gorillapig from this day forth you shall not utter pork scratching, you have earned the right to shout Gammeldag from the rooftops. You shall surely sup from the cup of doub lecream today.

And to atone for your sins I shall take another sip from the cup of Sham Pain, go in peace to the land of Hi Fatlow Carb

starsky22 · 18/09/2017 23:13

I've lost 4lbs this week! So I have lost the 2 lbs I put on the other weekend plus an extra 2lbs, very pleased! I've fasted most mornings this week, so think that has helped.

oldbooks prettybird and ilove well done on the new measurements/sizes, amazing!

C4 Land of Hi Fatlow Carb sounds awesome! Grin

Cider I also find that alcohol means that I put on weight or stall and am planning to stick to no alcohol for the rest of September, good luck with it!

Today:
B fasting
L low carb lasagne
D chicken tikka masala, cauli rice & sprouting broccoli
Lots of water!

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 19/09/2017 06:04

C4 great news on DIL and Alfie glad DS took charge and made the call.
to force the time for rest and reduce the "Visitor stress".

Family time is important, as well as extended.

1 question are you still drinking.

Gammeldags = old fashion
Flæskesvær = Pork rind

Love the story tho, LOL

Long time lurker & reader here. Wondered if I could ask for some advice. Has anyone had any experience of gall bladder problems/gall stones? I've been following this WOE since March and have been loving it. However, I started getting horrible stomach pains travelling round to my back, since Sat morning. Went to drs yesterday and he thinks it may be gallbladder related and recommends I eat low fat and has referred me for bloods and an ultrasound. He is actually quite positive about LCHF so I'm inclined to follow his advice and all the info I can find does seem to suggest that fat exacerbates any gall bladder problems. Has anyone ever had any problems like this?? Will be gutted though if I have to abandon this. Thanks.

GrumpyOldFucker · 19/09/2017 06:09

Hi - I'm starting Bootcamp as from yesterday - holiday is over, want to lose a few pounds. Will try to keep a food diary here, or should I start another thread?

Start weight 9st 0.5lb

Yesterday I ate:

Breakfast: Tea with milk (DH made it for me), black coffee

Early lunch: Smoked mackerel salad with mustard mayo

Snack: Cheese (I'm trying not to snack ever so not too pleased about this)

Dinner: Asian cabbage stir fry with lamb mince.

GrumpyOldFucker · 19/09/2017 06:10

knottyhair - no, sorry, no experience of that, but didn't want to just post my day without commenting. Hope someone more knowledgable comes along.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 19/09/2017 06:34

Also interested in the gallbladder thing. I've been getting indigestion every day recently and Dr Google suggests gallbladder may be a cause.

SayrraT · 19/09/2017 07:31

knotty I don't have any experience with gallstones but I'm very sure that some posters on here do. I'm sure someone has had their gallbladder removed and does LCHF.

ilovecherries · 19/09/2017 07:34

My fat decided that 2am was the ideal time to piss right off (literally!). I have worn a path to the loo overnight. On the plus side, lost 2 lbs, hopefully ending my stall.

knottyhair · 19/09/2017 08:26

Thanks everyone. Have been reading some stuff that suggests that low fat high carb eating causes the gallbladder problems (which I did for years before March this year). That then changing to LCHF gets the gallbladder to work hard for the first time in a while which causes the pain. If you then start eating low fat, the pain goes but puts you at higher risk of gallstones as the gallbladder has nothing to do again so stores the bile?? So if this is correct, it might be best to go low fat in the short term to get the pain under control and then gradually reintroduce fat/reduce carbs to see how the gall bladder responds. That makes sense to me but is obviously the opposite to the medical advice Hmm.

Mimosa1 · 19/09/2017 08:58

Hi Knotty,
Im afraid I don't know anything about it but hope you're able to get to the bottom of it and feel better soon.
Good day for me food wise yesterday after a few Carby days though not enough water. Ended up sts this week which is not bad considering.
Thanks to everyone who posted about how they talk publicly about being in a diet / woe - food for thought .

C4pinkwheels · 19/09/2017 09:02

I'm a long time LiCHF eater, I had a gall bladder infection about four years ago which resulted in an emergency removal along with the nine gall stones inside it.
I couldn't eat fatty foods after removal and had to slowly increase over time.

The most common profile of women with gall bladder problems is a woman who is:

Over forty
Fair skinned
Fertile but only just
Fat as in a BMI outside the normal range

Or the four F's as my surgeon told me.
My experience was different to your because of my paralysis I didn't have any symptoms until I became very unwell.

I hope you get some relief soon because it's very painfulFlowers

Grah of the house of MAMIL exiled to the land of Can Ada:
I am well aware of the translation but the angel of high priestess BIwi commands that henceforth the scratching of pork shall be known as GAMMELDAGS because it rollerth off the tongue nicely.

Am I still drinking you ask, my final challenge was to consume the half bottle of Chablis with breakfast because everyone knows it is against the law of the land of Denmark to throw alcohol into the drains in case it affects the flavour of herrings.

I will return to the East of Mid Lands and fast for 24 hours and then consume many eggs to cleanse my body of the evil Carb.

This has been the only pilgrimage C4 has had this year after suffering much illness and many near death events. Her decision to consume much alcohol and many carbs was the right one. C4 is happy, happier than she has been for a long time. It was three days of wanton gluttony for the other 362 days of this year C4 will return to virtuous eating of LCHF.

Some dust has fallen from her loyal partners eyes, he has witnessed some unpleasant behaviour and even had some directed at him. He has at times been romantic and managed to forget his stressful work. He has agreed to the reinstatement of Date Night.

C4 has taken one for her bitches, and was happy to do so.

C4 will face a new challenge in six days time when she is required to tame the wild beast Lola a young chihuahua.

YoLoZammo · 19/09/2017 09:06

Morning all. I lost an epic post yesterday and I cannot remember all of it to repost Blush

C4 as always you are an inspiration. I vote you to be the superstar of boot camp. Your positivity, support for others and sheer survivalism is amazing, not to mention your quilt making story telling Alfie cuddling pizazz. Your wedding meal and drinking account was truly epic. Bring back Gammeldags for us all!

iirc it was Jiminny who has had her gallbladder out I think.

To report in, I am not drinking enough water. Maybe get a litre in a day. I'm so busy it's difficult to remember and I think I'm just not looking after myself properly. Food wise is good. Having an emotional upheaval with STBXH wanting to reunite atm. I'm just not ready and probably wont ever be because he hasn't changed so that's my current challenge. I don't know how to tell him this without hurting him. And I'm afraid of the fallout of nastiness if I do.

Oh and just to say that I've read everything on the thread recently but been preoccupied with work and relationship issues to post much. Welcome new faces, you won't regret this WOE.

And for those who don't like to talk about diets with other people, i just say 'I don't eat carbs any more'. Simple as that. No discussion. No explanation. No argument. Matter of fact.

C4pinkwheels · 19/09/2017 09:50

Yolo of the house of I'M GONNA WASH THAT MAN RIGHT OUTTA MY HAIR

C4 has done nothing special she is just being herself, but thank you for your moving tribute.

As far as getting rid of your stbxh without hurting him, I'm afraid it's not possible. I've been there and done that, you will only delay the hurt and live in a strange kind of limbo where you don't like the person you're with but don't feel free to window shop.
Be honest, move onto the moral high ground and tell him that because you don't believe he's changed there is no chance of getting back together.

CiderwithBuda · 19/09/2017 09:55

C4 - I am glad you had an epic time. And it sounds like it has done you the world of good. And your DH. Especially having the scales dropped. Good one.

Re talking about diets with people - everyone I know is so used to me doing some type of diet that they don't really comment. DH gets fed up with me chopping and changing. One friend has many opinions but she is a personal trainer and gets frustrated at me not sticking to anything. She can be quite disciplined in a way I'm not. I can't talk to her about it as she lectures me although she probably wouldn't agree. I take her 'you just need to do this that or the other' as a lecture. I find it patronising. I've been known to order a bowl of pasta at lunch just to see her face. Very mature of me! It's undoubtedly more me than her as I feel such a failure when I give up yet again. But it's my business not hers. I know I'm unhealthy. I know I need to lose weight. I know my breast cancer (thankfully a pre cancer) was probably lifestyle - I don't need it pointing out!

Phew. Bit of a rant!

Anyway.

Food yesterday was good and as planned except dinner changed from Sheperds pie to friend rice. Poor DH. He ends up doing three versions! One plain for DS with peas and sweet corn. Spicy with normal rice for him and spicy with cauliflower rice for me.

I've just had eggs for breakfast. Sort of scrambled in th microwave with butter melted in. Just having and enjoying my last cup of tea before I switch to water.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 19/09/2017 10:17

Got home last night to find DP with hoover in hand! Suggested he might want to clean the bathroom this evening, will see what happens. They then went out for a takeaway so I didn't have to cook. Not what I would have chosen, but I decided to go with the flow. Head feels stuffy today even though I wasn't thinking about it, so it just reinforces the fact that I do react to carbs. At least that means I don't feel so bad at avoiding them.

Am slightly paranoid, however, that DP found this thread. He probably didn't and it's just a coincidence, but it is a worry.

C4pinkwheels · 19/09/2017 10:21

Cider the one sits with a Buddha of the house of Fuckoffcancer
Read my post from the other day to littlebillie

I don't tell anyone that I'm on a diet I just say I don't eat carbs for health reasons
Try and keep away from negative people or if you are with them keep the conversation away from dieting and food.

C4 is passing through the town of Middle Fart.

knottyhair · 19/09/2017 10:31

Just popping on to say thank you for all your responses. I guess I need to stick to low fat temporarily and either when the pain goes, or if I need it, have it whipped out, then gradually increase my fat and reduce my carbs again. C4, I'm just in the normal BMI range (only just!) but apart from that I fit all those criteria! Thank again x

CiderwithBuda · 19/09/2017 10:31

C4 - I agree. It is easier just to say I'm not eating carbs as they don't agree with me. And I do try not to talk about diet and food with her. It always feels like the elephant in the room though.
