Food today
2:30pm - Greek yog, double cream and cinnamon.
5:30pm - bolognese with Cavolo Nero.

ilovecherries · 21/09/2017 18:07

Roast chicken is the best, and I'm afraid I extravagantly buy happy, organic chickens from the farmer next door, and they are bloody delicious, albeit a little lean - but nothing that can't be solved with a liberal application of butter.

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 21/09/2017 18:32

Hi again
Mimosa Oatcakes, building /your own house sounds v exciting, if a lot of work. What are you planning? Nothing as grand as that, just knocking a small kitchen and the dining room into one space and knocking the conservatory down too so we get one big multi use room plus a utility room and a downstairs toilet. This should have started this week but our builder seems to have overstretched himself with work or is fobbing us off - we've sent him a text to ask what's happening etc and if he's not able to do the work we'll get another builder (not easy) Thank you Gammeldagsfinderonwheels I think you're spot on!! Fortunately we haven't paid or signed anything although we have paid a deposit on a new kitchen but that's not tied into us using this builder

Stuntnun and Hippa am I eating too much on a 16 :8 fast then? I thought you ate your normal amount of low carb high fat food for the day in your 8 hour window. I tend to eat at about 12 30, then I'll feel a bit hungry about 4or 5 and have a total yoghurt with some cream etc, which is more a snack to keep me going til dinner at 7 o'clock- ish

StuntNun · 21/09/2017 18:48

NOMORE in trials then the animals fed within an 8-hour window lost more weight than animals fed the same amount of calories over the full day BUT you will only lose weight if you're eating fewer calories than you use. Most people only eat two meals and maybe a snack when they're following 16:8.

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 21/09/2017 19:04

Ok, thanks Stuntnun - I'll do another fast tomorrow and try to keep to two meals and maybe a snack and see how I go.

starsky22 · 21/09/2017 19:20

Thanks Asd & hippa I'll go for the parfait and plaice, the hollandaise sold it for me!

Had the start of a migraine this morning, thankfully some migraleve staved it off, but still left feeling tired and fuzzy, has meant I've drunk and ton of water though to try and help. Hoping DH will be home soon and be nice and cook dinner so I can rest.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 21/09/2017 20:47

Hi Ladies,

Lot of Catching up and some fun and interesting times for all.

BIWI read the article on diet Doctors re Men on pause and passed along to my wife the tips and reasons for struggles.

Did get the light bulb - if you've stalled cut back on adding fat" eat your own... Doh going to halve the amounts of Mayo on the salad as been floating around the 198 199 200 numbers for over a week.

C4 welcome back from the land of Biscuit-and- Gin, and glad to hear you've suffered pause- -for- -drama no ill effects Grin from the Carby/drunky experience.
So has anything slightly changed with DH after he had a chink of exposure to the skids inconsideration's? ( for the want of a better word ).

Gammeldagsbooks like the name change, I had to translate from the package as I can't get Pork Scratching's here, so I try shopping by other names to locate them.

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese thought you had to move out for the build to start, so any delay will cost you extra in the accommodation changes. As you haven't signed anything, if the builder gets a better offer does that mean they can just drop and run from your job?

Will be getting my blood work results tomorrow from the doctor expectation is "your LDL-C is high", my answer is "Good, I'm eating LCHF and you need to use another formula to verify based on my lack of sugar intake. Or do the more expensive blood test that actually doesn't guess the amounts before I take any pills. "

have fun everyone.

starsky22 · 21/09/2017 20:53

Today:
B fasting
L spinach, sausage & mushroom frittata
D chicken tikka masala, cauli rice & mushrooms
DH only just home, so had leftovers for dinner, thankfully made a huge batch of chicken tikka masala at the weekend, which has lasted all week!

Gammeldragz · 21/09/2017 21:19

Add two squares of dark chocolate to my diary. Only 7g carbs, and my bolognese was pretty low carb (DH uses far too many onions and carrots in his, I used shallots and a courgette - though the red wine I slung in may have offset that!).

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 21/09/2017 22:08

Grah. Good luck with your test results.
The extension is just a single storey and in the back of the house so we don't need to move out. Yep the builder could go if something better comes along. He's currently blaming everyone else for things not progressing. We'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

StuntNun · 21/09/2017 22:24

Grah I'm happy to look over your blood test results if you want to post them or message me with them. If you get total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides then I can give you my opinion on their interpretation. Please note that I am not a medical professional though.

C4pinkwheels · 21/09/2017 22:38

Grah good luck with the test results. I will post in detail about the skids and DH when I have more time.

C4pinkwheels · 21/09/2017 22:39

Weird why is the app still using my old name or are you all seeing my new name?

Gammeldragz · 21/09/2017 22:52

I'm seeing your old name, c4 Happened with someone else's yesterday too...

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 21/09/2017 22:53

C4 it's showing your old name

Gammeldagfinderonwheels · 21/09/2017 22:59

And I'm cured

twinkledag · 21/09/2017 23:14

Morning all! Just checking in. Busy day for me today - toddler class, followed by meeting MIL as it's her birthday today. We're getting Turkish takeaway from a new place tonight, excited to try it! We're having halloumi & ezme for starters & then I'm getting lamb kebab without the rice. Mmmmmmm.

twinkledag · 22/09/2017 08:55

Hippo - that food sounds amazing! Enjoy!

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 22/09/2017 09:05

Morning all
Trying another 16:8 fast today- I've got to get off to Mrs Sainsbury's to get more LCHF supplies in too.
Gammeldagfinder do we get a choice of costume?
KOKO

GailLondon · 22/09/2017 09:12

Morning and happy Friday gammeldagers!

SV for me today - 4lbs down in 2 weeks of proper LCHF! (Had done 2 weeks of low carbing but not really knowing what I was doing before that!)
Very happy with that and motivated to keep on keto!

Enjoy your food tonight Hippa! I love a bit of Friday night takeaway and have only identified a few suitable LC option, but tonight i'm going for lamb shashlik - cant wait!

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 22/09/2017 09:16

Morning everyone. What a busy day on the thread yesterday!

grah hope the blood results are good.

twinkle great work koko ing

nomore hope the builders don't mess you about. I love c4's advice about the tea. Wish I'd thought of that in the past.

cider looks like you have a good plan. If you feel any slippage then post here for good humoured and friendly arse kicking! Grin

I feel I'm stalling on weight loss. Been hovering around 90-91 kg for a few weeks now. If I get into the 80s I will be very excited. I think I'm eating too much. And maybe too many creamy coffees. Is 3 or 4 a day too much? I have a decaff in the evening as a little treat because I don't eat pudding or sweet snacks after dinner like I used to. And full caff in morning and afternoon to keep me going. I have HBP and had vowed to cut my caffeine before this WOE but it hasn't happened. I hardly ever drink tea now and that was on top of the coffee so there is some progress. Anyone have experience of HBP and this WOE ?

Btw I know my BP reacts to caffeine as I can take before and after readings. It's nicely stabilised on medication generally though. Am I merely medicating my caffeine addiction? Hmm

I am not drinking enough water I know that.

user1487671808 · 22/09/2017 09:20

Been doing bootcamp lite for ages now as reached a size/weight I'm happy with. It's the autumn term and DC have started bringing home the bugs and everyone's coming down with colds, in addition I'm peri menopausal and feeling a little low in energy and more tired than I should be I think.

Does anyone know if Berocca Effervescent are ok on a low carb WOE? I've looked online but everywhere says different things and the site itself doesn't give the full ingredients just says sugar free.

I'd really appreciate anyone's advice on this as it's taken me a long time to get to this stage.
