What's happened to JiminnyCricket? Not seen her post in a while. Is anyone in touch with her IRL?

ClearEyesFullHearts · 04/09/2017 12:44

Had a strong coffee with a splash of blue milk this morning

I was halfway through typing "blue milk" into google, thinking it was some new low carb super-ingredient, before I twigged. Shock

ClearEyesFullHearts · 04/09/2017 12:53

hippa Jiminny posted a few weeks ago to check in. She said the woe of eating had become so natural to her that she's not thinking about posting her food and things--basically it's become second nature and she's happier and focussing on getting strong (exercise I think).

I'm paraphrasing but she sounded good. Probably busy and doesn't love us anymore ! Wink

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 04/09/2017 12:56

Ahh I was away for a while so must have missed it. Good luck to her!

prettybird · 04/09/2017 12:58

STS this week in fact technically 0.5lb up but on this occasion I'm refusing to count half pounds Blush - still 11stone 7 and a half lb WinkSad

It's the first proper stall I've had though since starting this WOE again back at the end of May, so I just need to KOKO. Grin

Fingers crossed for woosh next week Smile

lisbapalea · 04/09/2017 13:35

Lunch update from M&S:

greek salad bowl (contains 3 baby plum tomatoes - should I or shouldn't i?) plus a pack of piri piri chicken which had the lowest carb count of all the cooked meat I could see - 0.7 per 100g i think.

Also got two pieces of fun sized cheese as an afternoon snack if necessary.

starsky22 · 04/09/2017 13:37

I've lost 3 lbs this week! So total of 1.5 stone since I started BC 11 weeks ago, I'm amazed I've been able to stick to it for that long and that I've lost so much weight. Will take measurements and a photo later this week.

Got a night away this weekend for anniversary so will be consciously eating some carbs and drinking and then going to join SSS on Monday. Not going to change much as what I'm doing is working, so will be sticking to the BC lite rules, avoiding alcohol and increase the veg.

Yesterday:
B bacon & mushroom omlette
L 1 minute muffin with peanut butter
D bolognese with bare naked noodles

BIWI · 04/09/2017 13:44

So my SSS started today. Family things are all over now so I can focus!

B - none: I'm fasting/skipping breakfast as much as I can
L - 2 poached eggs, asparagus and salad (with vinaigrette)

About a litre down in terms of water; have had 3 coffees today but that's it. I'm considering switching to almond or oat milk, as we have this in the office, but forgot this morning.

D - not sure, but will be something like pork fillet stir fry with Bare Naked noodles.

And more water!

bellalurgy · 04/09/2017 14:26

Afternoon all Grin

I've finally read the whole thread.

Following my mega strop about my latest health issue I'm back to posting. It is what it is and I just need to get on with it!

I'm still following LCHF (day 210) just not being overly strict. I think I said that I'm going to just try to keep on an even keel and wait till after my op(s) to go back to BC so that's what I'm doing.

I've always been a comfort eater but I haven't fallen into carby twatdom. I've spent the last couple of weeks finding low carb things to cook as alternatives to high carb stuff. I wouldn't normally use sweetners etc but I've been experimenting - some things have been great and I'll happily eat them again, others not so good.

Good - keto 'jam'. Even hubby likes this so we're keeping it as a permanent swap. Keto muffins (ditch the carbs) I made them with mixed herbs and cheese and had them as dumplings, yum. And my absolute favourite was the low(er) carb brownie (I breathe I'm hungry) It was amazing, I added walnuts to mine Grin

Awful - blueberry paleo pancakes (boak) and granola bars - both ditch the carbs. Any sweet keto muffin - don't bother

Everything else I tried was a bit meh and probably won't get made again. I get to eat plenty of delicious food without all the faff!

Anyway, glad to see everyone's KOKO and lots of newbies too. Hope it's ok to keep posting even though I'm not doing SSS. I need you all!!!

prettybird · 04/09/2017 15:01

Just noticed my typo wishful thinking : I am still 13 stone 7 and a half lb Blush

C4pinkwheels · 04/09/2017 16:28

Hi everyone, I really feel as if the superbugs are doing their level best to sabotage my dieting efforts, my bp crashed on Saturday evening and I was rushed into high dependency. I've had 36 hours of forced oxygen therapy and IV antibiotics and finally have a blood pressure so I'm going home.
I've been force fed three slices of toast because of low blood sugar. I'm totally pissed off 😤

Before all of that I took an updated photo, on the left is my first photo from 11/06 and on the right is Saturday.

The second one you can see my overhang, when I started this it completely covered my pubis and there is no way I would have photographed it. I've done it for the benefit of the newbies who are getting frustrated when the scales don't move, it's so important to really look at the way your body is changing, sometimes the scales don't move but your shape changes anyway.

You can also see my scar from my recent spinal surgery, this is the reason my waist looks uneven from the front, there is still a lot of swelling which I hope will disappear eventually.

ragz134 · 04/09/2017 18:00

hippa glad you asked about Jim as I'd been wondering too!
c4 great photos. Can definitely see progress. Sorry you've been force fed toast, that is very mean of them!

Overslept today so didn't have time to take packed lunch, ended up with a salad bowl from the canteen. Greek salad and coleslaw, with olive oil added on top. Coleslaw may have been carby, not sure. Dinner is herby chicken with stir fried cabbage (plenty of oil and butter) and will probably have Greek yogurt and cream later to up the fat intake. Look a little slimmer today so I'll weigh and measure tomorrow. No weight today as I didn't have time (normally weigh every morning!).

MOIST · 04/09/2017 18:24

C4. Glad you have escaped

I'm still here. Hanging in by my bitten fingernails. (Are there carbs in nails?). Plodding on and trying not to be a carby twat.
Going away on Friday for a week in the sun then on my return having my vein out. No date yet for the boob. Trying not to think about dying under anaesthetic.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 04/09/2017 18:27

C4 You are looking great! Am impressed you've lost the overhang. I feel cheated as I've had one for many, many years yet never had children, and I've never managed to shift it regardless of how low I've got (a few years ago I got my BMI down to 20, in size 8 clothes, and still with a ruddy, overhanging belly. You have given me hope that I might eventually lose it!

I have this strange thing where, after having had a hair cut, I really only notice the next day in the shower, when I attempt to wash the bit that isn't there. Well, I've been having a similar thing with my body shape lately. One day last week I suddenly realised my belly wasn't there (at least, jeans were holding it in, my earlier comments about the overhand still stand). It used to protrude even in jeans, but when I put my hand down there was nothing meeting it. I spent the whole day subconsciously patting my tum. Must have looked really weird! Done similar today, but with my sides. Keep trying to find bits to pinch and cant. Think it helps I'm wearing a thin, tight top, so it should be easy. There is still fat there, but not where I'm used to it being. I really need to stop inadvertantly grabbing myself, I'm going to be getting a reputation!!!

SSS is not going to plan. I made a cake on Saturday. All I ate that day were some salami slices. a passionfruit, a wee bit of cake mix then a slice of cake and cream. I find Saturdays hard as there isn't a routine. And DP was, once again, drinking til late and by the time he came in I couldn't be bothered making anything, hence succumbing to the cake.

Yesterday was better, until dinner when I had a potato and a bit of carrot and parsnip. Then some more cake for pud. Don't worry, BIWI, no need for that stick of yours, my body has its own way of showing me it's not happy! You'd think I'd have learnt by now that sugar does not do me any favours. The middle of the night sat-on-the-loo fun and games has reiterated that message.

So now I'm back to Monday and back to routine. I did want soup today but couldn't be bothered making any so stuck to my usual salad and yoghurt.

Weighed on Friday and I'm just over 10 stone. I then came on on Sat so hopefully I'm below double digits, but who knows? Will try and weigh tomorrow.

wombattoo · 04/09/2017 18:27

Welcome back Lisp
bella not everyone is doing SSS, so don't worry about joining in
C4 Glad you are back home. The before and after pics are really something. There is massive difference.

wombattoo · 04/09/2017 18:30

Well done Time Thanks
MOIST I understand why you would be nervous but you will be fine. Have a wonderful holiday Thanks

ClearEyesFullHearts · 04/09/2017 18:39

lisba I hope you went for the baby plum tomatoes--100g shoes as 3G carbs so only three of them would have been fine.

c4 sorry about the toast, is there anything else they could have given you to get your bp normal? Great changes in your photos by the way and really honest about the overhang. So many of us have been there!

I took the kids to subway today and had my first subway salad. It was perfectly lovely. No idea what I'm doing for dinner tonight, been out all day and really don't fancy cooking for myself.

I had a nice NSV of some jeans that gave me a muffin top big time. Waited a month and tried them today. Perfect. Kind of loose, even.

Even tried on a size18 pair of skinnies that I bought in anticipation of weight loss because I like navy clothing more than black--it suits my colouring better. They fit but as I've never owned skinny jeans I hadn't realised I don't really like them! I don't think they suit most figures, to be honest, and certainly not a recovering hourglass.

I was 20-22 top and bottom. Now top ranges from 16-20 depending on cut and material, but this is the first 18 trouser I've successfully secured. Even if I don't like them.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 04/09/2017 18:54

namechange the vision of you basically fondling yourself in public searching for missing fat made me smile. Congrats.

MOIST be sure to sniff the anaesthetist's breath when s/he arrives. That's what I've done when two of my children have had surgery (and I wasn't even embarrassed, though I probably should have been).

ClearEyesFullHearts · 04/09/2017 19:03

I should add that the above pre-surgery suggestion was intended humorously. Though I did sniff Blush

ClearEyesFullHearts · 04/09/2017 19:06

And DP was, once again, drinking til late and by the time he came in I couldn't be bothered making anything, hence succumbing to the cake.

That sounds lonely, namechange Flowers

ragz134 · 04/09/2017 19:08

clear eyes I'm not a big fan of skinnies either, seems all that's available in most places these days though. That or the other style in don't know the name of but also doesn't flatter the large of hip/thigh. I miss bootcut!
I've never worked out my shape, either pear or hourglass. I have a long body and quite a defined waist, even when obese, which is why my weight doesn't show as bad as it could. No one believed me that I was 15 stone (in the before photo that's me at 15 stone) as the height and shape really hide it.
Really struggling with clothes at the moment. I was ok in summer as I have lovely light flowy trousers and vest tops, or maxi dresses. Now the weather is turning I have barely anything to wear! Loathe to spend much as I can't afford it and will be losing more weight anyway. Still don't fit in the jeans I have stashed in the loft. Hardly have any shoes/boots as I have size 9 feet and have to shop online which is a nightmare and decent boots are just so expensive! Feeling rather down about it. Which is a stupid thing to worry about, and I apologise for moaning.

YoLoZammo · 04/09/2017 20:17

c4 I'm so sorry you had to be admitted. But great news you are home now. You are home now? Just checking. What a total bummer. Stay strong. Sod worrying about the toast. It doesn't matter. You need the energy to fight this infection wherever the calories come from.

Great NSVs everyone.

lilydaisyrose · 04/09/2017 20:21

I've had a great day today and I am really feeling the difference in my body already.

B - just a milky coffee (I am not loving cream in coffee just now)
L - small homemade hamburger covered in melted cheese
D - homemade chicken in white wine/cream sauce with cauli rice and green beans

And I'm just about to tuck into raspberries and whipped double cream!

Disclaimer - I am breastfeeding, doing BCL off sorts and not following SSS.

Mimosa1 · 04/09/2017 20:33

c4 hope you feel better soon.

ragsz I know what you mean about it being frustrating shopping for clothes. I've caved and bought a couple of pairs of trousers and a dress as I have a bunch of KIT days next week and can't really turn up in my knackered maternity gear but it was really annoying to spend the money on sizes I hope not to spend too much more time in!

YoLoZammo · 04/09/2017 20:38

time any chance you can just not bake cakes, or cook spuds, carrots and parsnips? If the temptation is too much, is it easier to not cook those things for anyone else? They won't die without them.

Sounds shit you being left alone while DH goes out drinking.
