We went out for an early dinner last night, Tapas restaurant which is perfect for lchf, I had squid, belly pork, beef skewers, mushrooms and tender stem broccoli.
I'm feeling worse now because of the antibiotics which have turned my wee luminous green - it stains the toilet
Distracto thank you, I've come a long way in the last couple of years. After the second SCI I didn't leave the bedroom for about four years and had carers with me for ten hours every day - basically on suicide watch. Things reached a head two years ago when an almost successful attempt got my eldest DD her DH and 2 DD's on a plane from NZ (she thought she was coming to arrange my funeral). She took charge, read the riot act to DH and dealt with my skids who had been emotionally bullying me for years. We went for couples counselling and DH chose me over his DC's (very difficult to live with for both of us).
My health continued to be very poor and I needed major surgery to correct a scoliosis that was crushing my right lung, we knew I had muscle weakness in my chest and my breathing was supported with a lung volume recruitment bag, I've had no cough since the first accident and no automatic swallow reflex.
I had major problems post surgery with oxygen weaning and eventually went into full respiratory arrest, investigations showed that my diaphragm is paralysed and has been for ten years. Mind boggling to understand how I survived at all and how it was missed as I was always in and out of hospital with pneumonia and chest infections.
So I'm now ventilated for 12 hours out of 24 and for the first time in ten years getting proper sleep, I feel like a different person now that my ten years of living in a co2 fog have ended. I just want to live and have adventures. Everything has improved my eyesight, skin, hair, nails but best of all my cognitive function has got so much better.
Grah wow you've done an amazing job, you've not just shed lbs but you look about ten years younger, I will keep my end of the bargain and post a picture later
