Morning all. Very excited to hear the final scores!

Here's the Spreadsheet for its last outing this Bootcamp

We'll keep this chat thread going, and when it finishes, we'll start a new one so that we can keep the support going until next Bootcamp.

You'll definitely be getting pigtures later - my friend has just rung and she has them!!!! Yay!!!!!

MOIST · 16/08/2017 14:57

NSV!!!!

My back fat is shrinking!

(New leggings and vest for running/skating - I usually cover up with big baggy t shirt)

Distractotron · 16/08/2017 16:06

Pretty - thanks, just had a look at overshoes. My work is 3.7 miles so not too bad. Just mildly concerned about leaving stinky, soggy trainers in the locker room 😁

Dude - hurray! Looking forward to pics.

MOIST - looking great, love the leggings!!

wombattoo · 16/08/2017 16:57

Welcome Caroline Jump right in.

MOIST you are looking fab Smile

There have been some very thought provoking and emotional posts. You are all doing so well. There is no need to feel embarrassed about any 'off loading' I have done loads of it on here Thanks

Jim I am pleased you are doing so well. I hope you get time to keep popping into the thread - you have been an inspiration for many, as has C4 Thanks

ClearEyesFullHearts · 16/08/2017 17:07

measuring metabolism is actually pretty boring. You get locked in a room called a metabolic chamber and they measure your oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production

Well that sounds delightful Hmm

Great photo MOIST

And to all--yes yes to offloading here. Just not used to it! HmmSmile

Dashing off now--about to introduce Pimm's to my foreign cousins ...

CarolinePenvenen · 16/08/2017 17:36

Thanks for the welcome!

I’m eating three strands of wholemeal pasta and I’ve bought low carb bread Hmm. I’m easing into it slowly...

Going on holiday tomorrow so cutting carbs gradually so that I don’t want to hack off my head with misery Grin

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 16/08/2017 18:07

@Distractotron
riding in the rain - depending on temp above 10c - below 23c

I use sealskinz socks get the long version or wide elastic band to stop running water from seeping into socks down the leg.
Cycle shorts - yes the padding works great and they wash/dry quick. rinse in sink hang under desk dry by evening. Cycle shirt and light water/windproof jacket.
Helmet

below 10c same as above plus
wind water proof Leggings and sealskinz gloves.
overshoes coming for birthday.

above 23c shorts shirt and enjoy the free cooling on waterproof skin.

Also pack clean clothes in a small plastic bag inside the back pack.
Have to use a single occupant washroom, as no showers in work, to do a change and armpit wash off.

using the roll packing method causes less creases. ( but only need jeans/shorts and t-shirt)

Commute is just 6.4 miles, way home sometimes longer as can get lost in the relaxation and not bother to cross the road bridges. Just cruise along the side roads.
Have fun.

oatcakesandcheeseplease · 16/08/2017 18:10

Hi Caroline welcome to bootcamping. I'm fairly new - I've been on BC and on here since the 8th Aug and I love it. I found it was really useful to read as much as I could from the link that BIWI has attached to the beginning of this thread and anything else I could find. I used the search facility on mumsnet to see what came up too - I also read John Biffa's book escape the diet trap

I ask one here if I'm stuck with anything and nobody minds answering my questions - they're a friendly lot

I've lost 5lb since I started - more than I've lost in ages!!

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 16/08/2017 18:15

@CarolinePenvenen
Have fun on your holiday, and take care to enjoy yourself then all relaxed and if anything like me bloated. Get on this WOE and plan for the next 1.

I put on 22lb over a 3 week beer/carbytwatfest holiday now after 13 weeks have lost it all plus 4.

But being relaxed on holiday and seeing the damage caused by the eating of the normal things everyday helps show why I needed to change my eating/drinking habits to this WOE.

Don't even fancy pie/pasty/chips/bread/pasta/rice etc anymore.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 16/08/2017 18:24

PIGTures!!!!!

Meet Hazel (you've seen her before) plus my two newbies, Blaise and Felicity. 8 week old babies. They won't be all together until the weekend after this, but they're in the same room and Hazel definitely knows somepig is there. Hopefully they'll all get on. Fingers and paws crossed!

MOIST · 16/08/2017 19:20

Oh piggies.

I now know what I want for my birthday.

MOIST · 16/08/2017 19:24

I really shouldn't do it after a run of nights but I've had a glass of red. I get a little bit overwrought. Tired and emotional.

As a result I would like to say thanks for being lovely namaste bitches.

I love you all and after the next glass I may well propose to you.

wombattoo · 16/08/2017 19:26

Have a lovely holiday Caroline

wombattoo · 16/08/2017 19:27

Ooh MOIST Blush We luffs you too Thanks

ilovecherries · 16/08/2017 20:29

Well, I luff everyone Grin, and Caroline, it's good to have you join in.

Thanks for all your kind words and encouragement. I've had a proper cry and feel a lot better, but it's funny how losing weight can bring up all this stuff that you thought you'd sorted decades ago (and obviously didn't!). I also wonder how I've managed to raise such a totally together and sorted kid, when I'm clearly a bit of a train wreck. DD made an appointment for me to get a blow dry and a manicure this afternoon, while she dragged a load of things to the charity shop. There's a box of really good quality or unworn stuff that she's sealed up for me review with a view to EBaying or altering when I feel better. And tomorrow we are going to have our colours done, and this morning I officially became a FatBitch, so a big target met. Grin

wombattoo · 16/08/2017 20:34

Well done ilove Great news Smile

Distractotron · 16/08/2017 20:37

Woop ilove!! Well done! Your DD sounds lovely.
Piggies are beautiful. I love guinea pigs, they make such nice noises ❤very envious!

Distractotron · 16/08/2017 20:42

Oops Grah - ta for the advice! We have a shower at work luxury - those sealskin things look fab. There are gloves too, I was wondering about that - cold and wet hands and feet would put me off riding to work, might have to treat myself.

ilovecherries · 16/08/2017 20:49

Oh, I love cavies. I adore their little chirps and popcorning when they are happy. I had to have our one remaining one PTS about two years ago, but we always had them as pets when the kids were growing up. The last one got too grumpy as she aged to have any more, but she still doted on me, and we moved her into the house so she had company. I do miss them, such snugglie wee things.

RaininSummer · 16/08/2017 21:01

Piggies are cute. Had them when kids were small. Am babysitting my girl's elderly ladies this weekend and really worry that they may peg it whilst I am in charge. She and my granddaughter would be devastated.

MOIST · 16/08/2017 21:08

ilove. Your daughter sounds lovely. Nice one.

I'm in bed. Too tired. Anyone want tequila? Or to get married?

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 16/08/2017 21:17

@ilovecherries
welcome to the world of BMI-fattydom
arrive recently myself expect I'll stay awhile on my way thru to the fitnessdom which is in
Body fat Percentage measurements.

Which is not a weight measurement, it allows you to have muscles and heavy bones. Which is sometimes forgotten.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 16/08/2017 21:19

@MOIST

Arh switching to the healthy neat tequila, from the fruity red wine good for you.

Gin bottoms-up

FinallyHere · 16/08/2017 21:28

Great leggings Moist (hic) wuff you too. And everyone else, you all too. Posters and lurkers. Goodness, I usually only type this sort of stuff when I have drunk too much, but here I am yelling 'namaste bitches' stone cold sorber.

Welcome Caroline I think you have come to the right place, very friendly, supportive and knowledgeable, what's not to like?

I had something in my eye, reading your description of the clear out Ilovecherries. I was reflecting how good i feel when I am going down the sizes, as weight melts off, reaching size x. When I am gaining, reaching that same size made me feel very low. Sigh.

Mmm, Grah, tequila, fresh lime and orange bitters, itspractically a margarita.

Good to see you wombat

Great explanation of the science, thank you Stuntnun. I never imagined IF would be for, and now it has become entirely comfortable and routine. I for one would be interested in an IF related thread, thank you

secretsignal · 16/08/2017 22:05

Evening all, I'm off on holiday in the morning (yippee) signing off for a week or so. I'm going to have more than a bit of white wine and a planned posh fish and chips, but otherwise will stay on plan. Will definitely need to sign up for Super Strict September when I get back. Some super, cathartic posts, there is much more going on on this thread than weight loss! Lots of changes for the better. Time I am in love with your piggies, we're getting some when we get back from hols, poor kids have been waiting patiently all summer. My littlest has an operation coming up at the end of Aug and piggie is her post-op treat. It will be so nice to have a pet to snuggle again. So, KOKO you lovely lot, may pop up for a hand hold later in the month, but over and out for now.
