Interesting that it's not just me who's gone off pork belly!

ilovecherries I think having your colours done is a really good use of your money. It stops you wasting money on clothes that don't suit you and can do wonders for your confidence. Plus I think it's important to have a target to work towards with weight loss and rewards along the way, especially if the reward isn't food based. I used to tell myself that if I was 'good' during the week I could have some cake at the weekend and then wonder why I didn't lose much weight when id been so good!

SummerSazz · 26/07/2017 18:22

Really interesting letter BIWI. Let's hope it gets some traction.

Enjoying all the pics - I didn't take a before one as hate having my photo taken anyway and at 3st overweight even more so!

I'm still resting my potential stomach muscle rupture and can't get reliably into the 10's Sad. I'm 2lb off getting into the normal BMI and a 2 stone loss since Jan - so frustrating!!!

cherries you are doing fabulously well - great result 👍. I had HoC colours done and was really good.

c4 glad to hear you are feeling a bit more recovered from surgery but boo to the lack of antibiotics to fight the infection. My mum has a chest infection which there are no more ab's to fight it - scary stuff for the implications on medicine going forward.

I've got pork belly for tea on Friday so I'll report back on whether there is any issue!!

Holibobs in 4 days.........

I decided to try an egg fast because I feel like I've been 16 stone something for a long time - I just checked it's only been just over 6 weeks (feels like much longer) so need to give myself a bit of a talking too as I need to be more patient!
Anyway the egg fast went well today and the fat I'm eating with my eggs really helps keep me satisfied.

ASDismynormality · 26/07/2017 18:47

Lovely bunny C4 , my guineas make a lot of noise when the Ocado shop arrives as it always has kale for them!

Glad you're in less pain and back in your studio C4. Hope the antibiotics work.

starsky22 · 26/07/2017 19:03

BIWI thanks for the link, really interesting reading. Also ended up readin the public health collaboration UK website and really like the sound of their Real Food Lifestyle as a way of healthy eating. They recommend eating food with a carbohydrate density of no more than 25% (25g per 100g) and I wondered if that could work as a low carb maintenance diet once you've reached goal weight. So you could eat what we eat now, but also more fruit and veg, but still avoid pasta, bread, cakes etc.

I'm missing so much of this at the moment.

Haven't eaten enough really today and definitely haven't drunk enough water because I've been out all day, rushing from one thing to the next. I'm on the water now. The best thing about this WOE for me is that I don't feel shaky and sick when I'm hungry. I can miss a meal without the panic and a glass of water/hot drink will keep me going until I have time to eat. This is going to be a revelation when I go back to work!

Food:
B - tea with milk
L - picked at sliced chorizo, cheese, cold broccoli, cucumber (not very much of any of it.)
D - Salad with chicken and green pepper fajita mix, guacamole and a small amount of homemade salsa.
Will probably have some strawberries and cream/ 2 squares dark chocolate later.

Going back to catch up now!

YoLoZammo · 26/07/2017 19:19

Well done to the walkers here. I'm now in training for GNR 2019 Wink

Went to the gym tonight and I'm really enjoying it. Its a nightmare childcare wise but I'm determined to find ways to go twice a week. Who am I and what have I done with Yolo?

Having rib eye tonight. Can't wait.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 26/07/2017 19:20

Congratulations on the weight losses ladies.

WaaWaaWaaa Glad to help, hope you remember ClearEyesFullHearts's fix.

OldBooks good idea, See non-lchf Treats as Humanicide.
Bit like rodenticide appears to be tasty but will kill you slowly in your own home.

C4 Glad to hear you still here and if not fully kicking arse doing you damn best. Fingers crossed the infection doesn't spread.

Did a sweat ride yesterday and got weight to show as 205.6 on scales. This morning after a food/water refill last night It was 207. hoping to not increase above that so I'll be back to the end of last boot camp.

HemanOrSheRa · 26/07/2017 19:50

Evening! I am going to have my colours done cherries. I've lost my way with clothes having put weight on. I don't think I'm ever going to be the skinny thing I was in my 20's/early 30's, where I could wear anything, but at least if I know what colours suit me I have a starting point. I LOVE clothes, make up and beauty products in general.

See, I think you look lovely in your red top and white trousers prettybird. I'm aware that means nowt but I'd look at you and think 'Oooh. She's got her shit together. She is wearing WHITE trousers Shock and RED Shock' and think you look stylish.

All us charity walkers! I've done a couple of 10 mile walks for a local hospice and 5k runs (when I was running regularly). It's a very emotional experience. Never done a marathon though! I would like to do Bubble Rush event - they look like fun, fairly slow and great with children.

Yet again I have been on track today which I am pleased about.

B - fasting
L - leftover Greek salad with 2 chicken drumsticks.
D - not hungry yet but will be meatzza and salad.

NamelessEnsign · 26/07/2017 19:50

cherries I had my colours done in March and went on a shopping trip with my stylist last week and spent a small fortune on work clothes. I really recommend it - I have no time to shop or browse and want to make my wardrobe work with as few clothes as possible. I have had compliments on my clothes every day since last week!

NamelessEnsign · 26/07/2017 19:53

Any runners here? YOLO, GNR, wow! I just did my first 7k in a long while after doing some shorter runs, cycles, and horse rides recently. I was 6 minutes slower than my fastest 7k last year, which was at a much higher weight. I am sure I can go faster and could definitely run further with a bit of training and physio, but low carb running isn't easy for me. Is this all in my head or does the lack of access to quick glycogen make this much of an impact?

MOIST · 26/07/2017 20:49

I went for a run yesterday. First time since I knackered my back about 3 months ago. My legs are a bit sore today.
And I'm still bloody coughing and my ribs hurt.
I've eaten a load of meat today. With salad.

C4pinkwheels · 26/07/2017 20:56

Ragz my community team can't treat me at home as my "normal" is considered critically ill, so add in the need for anything IV and it has to happen in HDU, I would also need a PIC or central line so it's not something they would be happy taking responsibility for.

Prettybird love the moonwalk photo

Ilovecherries I've always wanted to have my colours done, I'll be waiting with Internet for you to report back.

ASD Smokey was a bad boy this evening, he unpacked several bags, bit into a carton of juice and at one point was running round the house with a packet of blackberries in his mouth. By the time DH got home it was carnage in the kitchen with almost every item of fruit and veg damaged in some way.

Yolo that's two of us training for GNR 2019 for some crazy reason I've opted to walk it rather than use my wheelchair so I will have a support team with me. I reckon two days or possibly three for me to complete it. I'm also going to be cheered over the finish line by a load of bootcampers wearing t shirts with Namastebitches on the front and myfatcanpissrightoff on the back.

As promised one of this weeks creations

ilovecherries · 26/07/2017 20:56

Before I had eaten today at 1pm, I had walked to the dentist, taken the dog out, and been to the gym. That would have been impossible for me 10 weeks ago. DH would have brought me tea and toast (with jam because the fat clinic told me jam was the best low fat option) in bed at 6.30. By 8.30 I'd have been hungry and had orange juice (one of my 5 a day) with porridge made with water and skimmed milk (low fat heaven). By 11am I would have been hungry again - not just peckish, but shaky sweaty hungry - so Id have a banana. At 1pm, it would have been a sandwich (no butter or mayo) and more fruit. By 3pm I'd be exhausted and hungry again. It was a nightmare is scenario that I could never break out of. Today I ate:
Breakfast - fasting
Lunch - leftover meatzza and salad with olive oil dressing
Dinner - Greek salad with masses of feta, olives and oil (was going to be fish curry but we went for a walk and I CBA starting to cook at 8pm), FF yog.

Honestly, my life is transformed.

SummerSazz · 26/07/2017 21:06

cherries I forgot to eat dinner at all last night as was rushing around 😁

OldBooks · 26/07/2017 21:06

ilove I know exactly what you mean! DD2 had a slip in the bath and we are sat in a&e waiting to have a gash on her head glued. I haven't eaten since a babybel at 4pm. This would have been a disaster back in April before I started lchf. I would be a grumpy shaky hangry mess right now. I am not. At all. Have been sipping water and feel fine. It's a revelation.

ilovecherries · 26/07/2017 21:10

Argh, kids. I hope she's ok, oldbooks.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 26/07/2017 21:19

ilovecherries you've described sugar/insulin addiction (highs and lows) perfectly. It illustrates how far and protein and vegetables are what is necessary.

OldBooks eek, sorry about your daughter. Sometimes o think early childhood is just one long parade to A&E. Hope she's annoying you again soon. Grin

NamelessEnsign · 26/07/2017 21:25

Oh your poor DD oldbooks!

MOIST well done on the run! I know what you mean about coughing etc - I had the worst winter with a dreadful flu and cracked a rib. It has taken forever to get over it and I had my first bad asthma attack in ten years a few months ago. I'm a bit timid now!

ilovecherries · 26/07/2017 21:40

I know, ClearEyes Sad. It's just awful that this is NHS mandated nutrition advice. Every two weeks that bloody nurse at fat clinic would weigh me and tut and I would feel not only a failure but morally corrupt in some way. And when she talked about not being afraid to be hungry, and 'filling up on healthy carbs' I wouldn't recognise the hunger she was talking about because for me it meant shaking, sweaty, brain fog, muscle trembling etc. I couldn't function when I was hungry. When I decided to try this I was in despair - I'd really hit rock bottom and decided that it couldn't be worse than the way I was living.

Then I couldn't believe how bad the side effects of the switch would be, and I had every single one going plus some that haven't even been invented. I thought that damn keto itch would drive me insane. It was desperation that kept me going in the first month.

I feel so much better now, and I really believe I dodged T2 by a hair's breadth.

FinallyHere · 26/07/2017 21:52

Daft and frivolous thing to spend money on

Nooo......, colour analysis is ..... well, brilliant. Together with style analysis it has given me such confidence. I love just understanding my colour and style. Hop you enjoy it, too and find it useful.

Great to have lots of walkers on this thread. I'm signed up to do the 'shine' half marathon in September this year (in my plan to work up to walking GNR2019, yay). Wondering whether anyone might be interested in walking the thames bridges in October this year, I would love some company heree*
