down and up 9 flights of stairs 3 times. Long route to the bathroom.
Do you live in a mansion grah?

Copperas · 26/07/2017 07:27

Prettybird I think you look really stylish!

YoLoZammo · 26/07/2017 07:48

Grah cardigans with hoods? I've clearly led a sheltered life until now! Grin

Heman i forgot the bazoomas. Bellies can't be squished against chins. There is a further giant tyre of bosomy flabbiness between them. Wink

Veryflummoxed · 26/07/2017 07:51

Hi C4. Your food for the day sounded good. I hope this means things are continuing on the up for you

Wow cleareyes that's a huge difference, looking good girl and lovely legs. And I think you are right, that is a good healthy weight loss. . (Didn't notice the bathroom times this time, too busy admiring your legs Grin)

Yes Mimosa that's a very helpful thought

9 office block flights of stairs. Oh disappointing. I'd been imagining a Lord Gru amongst us.

I'm slightly off the belly pork lately as well Sky and usually love it. I'm putting it down to the hot weather.

My NSV. Usually wear loose tops and never shorter than three quarter length sleeves because of the dreaded arms. Yesterday I thought oh ......it! (youcanpissrightoffarmfat) and wore short sleeve t shirt to the beach. Two people said I'd lost weight.

BIWI · 26/07/2017 08:36

Here's a really interesting article, showing how things in Canada may be about to change - good to see support for low carbing from the medical community!

Morning campers, very I've been quiet the last few days but only because I'm concentrating on keeping a routine to aid my recovery, this includes limiting screen time. I'm reading the thread but not spending hours replying. I haven't got the balance right because I feel too distanced from the support at the moment.

Had all the pathology results back and the UTI and pneumonia are both a really nasty strain that are antibiotic resistant. I've just started a three month course of antibiotics and penicillin. If that doesn't work it will mean hospital for four weeks of IV treatment. I'm also considered an infection risk so would need to be nursed in isolation if I do go into hospital.

I am feeling better in myself and more importantly I feel as if I've turned a corner in terms of my recovery from the brutal spinal surgery I had in March as the pain from my back has reduced considerably. This makes a huge difference to my day and means I can spend more time out of bed.

I've been back in my studio so will post some pictures later.

Food today

B: hard boiled egg
L: salad with corned beef
D: sea bass with green salad

YoLoZammo · 26/07/2017 09:27

Glad to hear you are in less pain and fantastic that you are back in the studio C4. Making gorgeous creations is surely the best therapy in the world. Along with virtual hugs from internet strangers Wink and of course your DGC Skype sessions.

I'm looking forward to the pictures.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 26/07/2017 09:58

Jiminny (or anyone else) you use some app or software that puts two photos together so your comparison uploads are just one file.

What is it called and is it easy to use? Thanks.

I think I might make a couple for my fridge for inspiration.

WaaWaaWaaa · 26/07/2017 09:59

Dear all - I nearly teared up then. I'm really feeling the love and support coming through the tinterweb.

GRAH - thank you so much... I start the "love WaaWaaWaaa campaign" right now. It really clicked in my head! Its not a diet its a love WaaWaaWaaa initiative. I've got to look after myself otherwise whats going to happen to my loved ones?

I downloaded the suggested gastric band app on my phone (from the emotional eating thread) and I drifted off to sleep to it last night. which is great as I normally read FAR too late. I have eaten my breakfast mindfully and intend to read all the instructions fully today.

B - bacon and sausage
L - Salad with ham and a tiny bit of cheese
D - Fish, Baked aubergine, courgette, mushrooms

Tonnes of water.

thanks Guys I'm feeling more positive X

prettybird · 26/07/2017 10:16

I find the Mi-Frame app easy to use: you can crop and scale the pictures easily - and just as even more importantly it works on iOS 7, which is the maximum operating system that my iPhone 4 can use.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 26/07/2017 12:35

I've got to look after myself otherwise whats going to happen to my loved ones me?

There. Fixed that for you, WaaWaaWaa.

Please value yourself. Flowers

ASDismynormality · 26/07/2017 12:36

cleareyes. I use an app called layout.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 26/07/2017 12:54

Thanks for Mi-Frame suggestion, prettybird--does exactly what I wanted it to.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 26/07/2017 12:55

Ooh...a rival app! The excitement continues...

Thanks, ASD

ragz134 · 26/07/2017 12:55

I use myfitnesspal for my weights and check carb counts. It gives me nice graphs. Also has a photo function so you can add a photo to a day and compare them. It let's you save the comparison photos and share them.

At my current rate of loss I reckon 3lb a month is achievable. So by Christmas I should be a stone lighter... My goal in another 21lbs off today's weight, but I know the last bit will take ages and I am happy with that. I have camping this weekend, always a challenge but I managed pretty well last time. A week in Scotland in August which should be okay. Then the next big hurdle is Christmas, but I'm hoping we can all support each other through that!

c4 pleased to hear you are feeling better, Shame about the infections though. Can you not have IV antibiotics at home if needed? I work with the community nursing team and we do do them.

prettybird · 26/07/2017 14:23

Thought you lot would be amused by this picture - taken 2 years ago after I'd done the Moon Walk (the full one so I was knackered Shock). I was about 3 stone lighter than I was when the picture I posted earlier was taken (at the start of this Boot Camp) and 2 stone lighter than I am at the moment. (I did mention when I started this Boot Camp that I'd done a lot of emotional fuck it eating over the last year or so Sad)

The positive is that people never actually believe how heavy I am, because I am very small boned (slim wrists and fingers) Smile.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 26/07/2017 14:40

prettybird, first of all that photo is ridiculously funny. Gotta love the Moon Walk. Wink And well done for doing it--two years ago I wouldn't have been able to walk a quarter mile to our corner shop without heart palpitations, profuse sweat, and stopping at least twice. That you are fit enough to do that kind of thing is a real plus.

It's also good that the photo is within the past two years, not 10 years ago or whatever. I'm trying to keep my expectations realistic for what will emerge from my cocoon, if you will. I've already noticed the skin on my (newly discovered) neck is wrinklier different. So I'm accepting the new healthy me still won't look like the old healthy me.

I just want to be healthy. (And look as smoking hot as I possibly can.) Grin

ilovecherries · 26/07/2017 14:54

Oh, I did the Edinburgh moonwalk as well, prettybird - maybe 6/7 years ago (need to check the medal). It wasn't my first walking marathon, but I was shocked how much harder it was to do it overnight. I was jet lagged for days. I remember being really pissed off though, because I didn't get the free bra because they wrote to say they didn't do them in my size (wtf not, it's meant to be inclusive) and suggested I decorate one of my own bras. Frankly, if you pay as much for bras as I need to, there is no way you are wasting them with glitter etc. So I just wore a decorated tee shirt. But it somehow really got to me when people asked me all night where my bra was, I felt a total freak that even moonwalk, being all about breasts, couldn't accommodate mine. I ended up quite tearful about it all (ridiculous, I know!) You look fab - but you looked lovely in your other photo as well.

prettybird · 26/07/2017 14:57

I was about 12 stone when that picture was taken. It's the heaviest that my mental picture of me can cope with - which explains why I had such difficulty buying clothes when I was well nigh 15 stone (but refused to weigh myself as I didn't want to see that figure on the scales Blush)

I'm now 14 stone (in fact I saw 13 stone 13 3/4lb this morning Smile)

Obese in BMI terms vis-à-vis my height of 5' 5".

But I'm getting there - and like you Clear, I'm going to be happy with slow and steady progress. At 56, I can't rely on my skin being as elastic as it was when I was younger Grin

prettybird · 26/07/2017 15:07

Ilovecherries - I've run 3 marathons (late 80s, early 90s) but a walking marathon is much much harder mentallyShock. I'll never do one again. I might get back into running though - it's over much quicker (last 10k I ran was over 10 years ago and a half marathon a few years before that).

I didn't decorate the bra they sent me - I used an old bra that was comfier. I lasted less than 1km before putting my fleece on: the night I did it, it was bloody perishing, so I tried starting off with the clear plastic poncho that we'd been given, before giving in to the cold. Most if the walkers had tops on.

Week 10 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Our last week!
ilovecherries · 26/07/2017 15:42

It looks like the middle of winter in your picture! It was a very warm night when I did it, but you are right, it's a long long time on your feet. I'm just flirting with 13.13 3/4 on the scale - I hit it one day, then bounce back up to 14 stone 1 the next. I'm still hoping this week will see it reliably - i.e. 3 days in a row. I will be so happy to see it because I know that in the 13s on the way up I looked big (I'm 5'7), but not obese (I don't think!). In any case, in the 13s I could still shop in Hobbs etc. I still can't believe I have managed to ditch 20 lbs this bootcamp. I'm late 50s, so no idea what my skin will do - it's holding up ok so far except for some wrinkles that have appeared at the top of my inner thighs. Pregnancy was relatively kind to my skin, but the last one of those was a long time ago!

prettybird · 26/07/2017 15:54

It felt like the middle of winter - wore the cap as a way to keep warm and clutching the poncho tight to my neck as we walked head on into a biting gale wind as we walked along beside Cranston Beach in the early dawn light as that created a tiny bit of warmth (a bit like a wet suit Hmm)

I then had to get the train back to Glasgow, change and drive ds up to Stirling for a cycling race Shock

I too am desperate to see 13stone 13lb as that would mean a full stone since I started Boot Camp and I can book the cut and colour I promised myself when I lost a stone Smile

ilovecherries · 26/07/2017 16:00

I'm having my colours done when I am no longer obese. Daft and frivolous thing to spend money on but I'm looking forward to it. 5-6 lbs away.

Cherrypi · 26/07/2017 16:03

I've gone off pork belly too. Has someone been tampering with the supplies? ;-)

NigellasGuest · 26/07/2017 16:31

ILoveCherries - it's not daft or frivolous - you really deserve it - and it will save you time and money!
