And lo the stick is wielded!

Grin @BIWI

Love the Gru reference. Grah in my mind your real name is Graham and I have a particular image of how you look. Do you wear cardigans? Wink

I like your motivation ideas. I have a recent godawful picture of me that needs burning. It's going to be saved for this purpose.

secretsignal · 25/07/2017 20:05

I wish I had a god awful picture, would be great for motivation and comparison, but I had a blanket ban on photography #vain

ClearEyesFullHearts · 25/07/2017 20:32

Here are my comparison photos (which I've fecking tried to post twice already, thank you power outagecaused by broken kitchen appliancethat keeps resetting my wifi). Angry

The light undergarments photo was taken mid-March. Had been at 236lb in October 2016 (heavier than an NFL Linebacker, yay me!) and eased my way into low-carbing. In this photo I was in the 220s on a small-medium-boned frame of 5'4".

The photo in dark undergarments was taken today at 203.2lbs. So let's call it a 20-23lb weight loss in 4 months, almost 10 of which was during this Bootcamp.

Five pounds a month doesn't sound like a lot, but remember I didn't get serious until Bootcamp, and even then had a wobble here and there. Also, 20 lbs in 4 months is a very healthy rate of weight loss. My skin and organs have been given time to adjust, I think. (Man, I'm so deep).

Had no choice but to wear the dark clothes today as lighter bra doesn't fit properly anymore (and never did--it smashed my boobs).

I'm pleased with this change. In flattering clothing I'm starting to look less blobby, more myself, me, the one I remember feeling like and (embarrassingly) thought I was getting away with looking like even though I weighed more than an NFL Linebacker (I mentioned that, right?).

Also, am delighted to announce I'm I longer Seriously Obese, merely Obese. Cannot wait to see what Overweight looks like.

Namaste, bitches.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 25/07/2017 20:35

Also, for those of you who saw my What Should I Wear photos from the "tennis event" I attended, please feel free to admire my bathroom tiles once more. Wink

ilovecherries · 25/07/2017 20:43

B: Fasting
L: two scrambled eggs and 2 posh chipolatas with spinach
D: slice of meatzza with green salad
S: none

I saw 196.8 on the scales today - I've decided I do better with daily weighing because it helps me see trends more clearly. Tantalisingly close to seeing 13 stone something, at which point I will do naked cartwheels down the hall.

secretsignal · 25/07/2017 21:07

Fantastic progress ClearEyes, your tummy looks much flatter and your boobs have way more definition. My weight was/is mainly on my tummy/boobs and this is the only WOE that has really affected those areas.
And your tiles are really nice too.

Mimosa1 · 25/07/2017 21:08

waa sorry to hear you're feeling miserable. Its really hard, isn't it? Ive certainly had days months of eating everything in sight :(

clear I would be thrilled with 20lbs in 4m!

Weight loss reminds me a bit of a conversation with my first boss about taking a professional qualification that would take 3 years. I said something along the lines of "what's the point, 3 years is ages" and him replied "well the time will go by anyway" meaning you may as well do it and have the qualification by the end of that time. I have so much to lose, but I keep telling myself the time will go by anyway, so I may as well make steps to feel better iyswim. Sorry if this is a bit garbled, but

BIWI · 25/07/2017 21:13

ClearEyes those pictures are great!

BIWI · 25/07/2017 21:19

@WaaWaaWaaa I'm so sorry that you're having a difficult time.

Others have given you great advice so far - I'd add to that by saying to you to go and read some of the stuff on the spreadsheet. Really make sure you know why low carbing is a good way to lose weight and, most importantly, how and why it works.

What has helped to keep me focused when I've wavered has been the knowledge that low carbing isn't just good for weight loss, but that it's also good for your longer term health. So even if you've had a cheat, or fallen off the wagon, as long as you get back up and start again, you're minimising the damage.

A high carb diet is associated with not only obesity, but also diabetes, hypertension, cancer and Alzheimer's disease. It's also linked with lots of other conditions, and a low carb diet is generally much better for people with PCOS and IBS amongst others.

Best thing for you, I'd say, is to make a plan. What are you going to eat over the next few days - make sure it's something extra specially tasty, so that you aren't depriving yourself. Then go and buy all the stuff you need (and get rid of anything in the house that's too carby!)

And keep posting here, and let us all help and support you.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 25/07/2017 21:26

Mimosa I absolutely understand your point. Not garbled at all.

Time passes. It's up to us to choose what we do in that time.

If I choose to not take 4 months to lose 20 lbs (as opposed to trying for 20 lbs in 1-2 months on a less sane diet), those four months will still pass.

Or I might not try anything at all because it will take so much time.

I remember something similar when contemplating an advanced degree..."But I'll be 30 by then!" Well, I'll be 30 either way.

And it doesn't matter how much you have to lose. Please don't think of it as "so much". Think of it as one step at a time. "A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step," and all that. Flowers

secret, cheers. Thanks for complimenting the tiles. Grin

YoLoZammo · 25/07/2017 21:41

Ha secret so do I!! It was a sneaky family member who broke the rule! The picture is also taken from about 10 feet below me while I looked downwards towards the person and I was sitting down it managed to capture not only both chins in full fettle but also both bellies squashed against said chins coupled with flattened thighs. Could NOT be less flattering. I didn't recognise myself at first glance. It's horrific. Worse than the mirror in the hairdressers.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 25/07/2017 21:50

Hi BIWI,
just re-read the packaging on the Cashews 45g not 85g

  • 12g or carbs and more fat than the cabbage. 22g.

280 calories or 12 times up and down 9 office block flights of stairs.

Going for Cabbonara tomorrow lc version of Carbonara.

YoLoZammo correct Grah is short for Graham - does Cardigans with hoods count?

HemanOrSheRa · 25/07/2017 21:54

it managed to capture not only both chins in full fettle but also both bellies squashed against said chins coupled with flattened thighs. God. Sorry Zammo. This has made me laugh (in a supportive way Grin). I've had photos taken of me where I think 'Who the hell is that?....Oh. Erm. Never mind'. Just awful.

Your photos are amazing Clear. Such a difference.

I have been VERY GOOD today:

B - Creamy coffee
L - Chicken salad with mayo
D - Cajun chicken (breast) with Greek salad + added avocado. Weird combo but it was nice. Double cream and FF yogurt with vanilla powder.
S - Slice of cheddar
W - 2.5 litres. Still drinking though, very thirsty.

secretsignal · 25/07/2017 21:57

I videoed myself on my phone Blush. Don't really know why, just random curiosity about what I looked like. Still remember the feeling of utter shock when I watched it back. It's strange how you can be in denial about how you look until you see yourself from 'outside' IYKWIM (although obviously I knew deep down hence the photo ban). At least I've still got the video to keep myself on track!

Kleptronic · 25/07/2017 21:58

ClearEyes blimey there is such a difference! Well in mate.

Mimosa1 · 25/07/2017 22:04

cleareyes YES! That's exactly what I meant only you've put it much better - congratulations again and thanks for the kind words

Copperas · 25/07/2017 22:18

I do know no peas on bootcamp - they were all I had other than cauliflower. But I think a cauliotto could still be good with some other veg as a contrast for colour and flavour. Maybe fennel using the frondy bits to decorate ...

ilovecherries · 25/07/2017 22:22

Wow, your bathroom tiles are gorgeous, ClearEyes. Wink. There's a huge difference between those two photos.

starsky22 · 25/07/2017 22:29

Just checking in with todays food:
B fasting
L leftover roast beef with bubble & squeak (made with celeriac, cabbage & leek)
D pork belly & cauliflower cheese

Have decided I can't eat pork belly anymore, I think it is too fatty for me, I used to love it, but now it makes me feel a bit sick. Unfortunately I think that fatty food makes my IBS worse, which makes me worried about continuing with this woe long-term.

notevenamum1 · 25/07/2017 22:40

Hi guys

Been shamelessly lurking from the beginning. I was really strict for the first 6 weeks and had my body fat measured and lost 4% body fat which we soretty amazing!!

The last 4 weeks have been a struggle. I've had lots of treats and little slips with being measured today and having lost less than 1% body fat.

Really need to get back on the wagon and up my game. I will be continuing this woe for the foreseeable future!

littlebillie · 25/07/2017 22:42

I have stayed the same 16lbs so far. I am very pleased and aiming to maintain until next bootcamp as I think I need to stablise my weight for a few weeks (and enjoy my holidays)

ClearEyesFullHearts · 25/07/2017 22:42
ClearEyesFullHearts · 25/07/2017 22:56

Sixteen lbs is terrifix, littlebillie. Really well done.

My holiday goal is to maintain or lose. We will be in France, home of the best restaurant salads ever, and plenty of cheese and seafood.

Fingers crossed. Hmm

prettybird · 25/07/2017 23:46

As everyone else is being so brave, I'm going to post this picture, taken on 26 May at dh's neice's wedding.

I was almost in tears looking for something to wear: I literally had nothing to wear and had a very depressing afternoon going around Silverburn the day before trying to find something I could thole - but not too expensive as I didn't want it to fit for too long.

No "after" picture yet - but I did report an NSV yesterday that my neck was starting to make an appearance again Smile

OldBooks · 26/07/2017 06:24

Welcome notevenamum! You say you have had "treats", can you think of them in another way? It's hardly a treat for your body if it makes you fat and sluggish etc. Whereas eating something delicious but lchf is a great treat for your whole system! That's how I am trying to look at it Smile

Cleareyes great photos and well done on choosing a house with such lovely tiles Wink

Prettybird I feel you, I have done the panic in the shops, everything looks terrible thing. It's awful. For the record and to a stranger's eye you look nice Smile although it's impossible to see yourself the way others see you. It's nice to see changes to your face and neck though isn't it? I have got quite vain looking at my jawline appearing!

I am full of snot today and interviewing later. Nothing impresses a candidate like being sneezed on by their potential manager right?!?
