Morning campers

Here's the spreadsheet

So we start our last two weeks. Let's get really focused - think about the food you're eating, pinpoint any carb creep and eliminate that cheating!

If it helps, post what you're eating each day. Or even consider going back to strict Bootcamp for the last fortnight!

Flowers

Good luck to everyone

@ilovecherries - I feel your pain! And I hope very much that the hotel were able to make you a lovely, low carb fry up this morning

C4 I wanted to say, how dare you call yourself a cripple! And then I went, how dare you tell her what she can call herself, she lives it, she decides. You are yourself C4 you get to define yourself. To me you are a member of this community, a creator, a contributor and supporter. In your life you are a creator, community activist, parent, grandparent and wife. In all things you strive. Most of all your are a survivor. You are winning at being C4. Thankfully. Or you wouldn't be here. Easter Smile

ilovecherries · 18/07/2017 16:56

ClearEyes, I asked BWIW about this a couple of weeks ago. She indicated that it is possible (I think because of the way protein is metabolised, though don't quote me on that!)

ilovecherries · 18/07/2017 17:02

I think this explains it. www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb-high-fat-not-protein

So, who did this.....

Peers cautiously round the door at SayrraT

There has been a confession upthread. Paws were involved.

Great wheels, C4 You are looking not bad, too.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 18/07/2017 18:11

SayrraT re The cinnamon So he is only willing to share the sawdust with you.

Would assume it would be good, but it depends how you take it and how much, as it is dangerous.

There are two kinds of cinnamon, but product labels do not usually specify the type. Ceylon, or true cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), is a pale tan color; it is milder, sweeter, and more expensive than cassia. Cassia, or common cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia), is redder, stronger in flavor, and cheaper in price.

and processed correctly

beneficial compounds in cinnamon are soluble in water. Coumarin is not, so a water extract of cinnamon will not contain any of the hazardous substance. Dr. Anderson recommends that anyone who wants to take more than ¼ to 1 teaspoonful a day should use a water extract rather than powdered cinnamon.

starsky22 · 18/07/2017 18:19

Just tried the whole earth peanut butter with seeds, it is so good! And now I want to eat the whole jar!

JiminnyCricket · 18/07/2017 18:42

I've cracked out the actifryer in an attempt to get myself interested in food again. I've cubed half a celeriac and shoved it in with 2 tablespoons of oil and I've got a ready made chicken thing from Morrisons to eat with it.

When you lot eat celeriac how much do you have per person?

FinallyHere · 18/07/2017 18:53

I am a massive fan of celeriac. It always seems to be sold out, if I am in a supermarket, so would buy any that i see for sale. Could easily eat a whole one (chopped and roasted with chorizo, garlic, a shallot) in two sessions. The portion size on the second day would usually be smaller than on the first day Blush

Fabulous for keeping me, ahem, regular.

Even better than cabbage, or spinach, actually [tmi, i know, i know]

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 18/07/2017 19:05

Wondered why I was stalling and thought it was protein. So tapped the food into Fatsecret app.

Apparently CABBAGE is very sugary / carby

Green Cabbage cut across middle like two 1/4 in steaks chopped mixed with 1 tbsp. Mayo, 1tsp Mustard, splash of chili sauce about 2-3 cups is 15g of carbs.

So
so far to day
b 2 egg omelet back bacon
l 2-3 cup chopped cabbage and 6oz chicken

d was going to be a very veggie / chicken soup but not enough carbs to remain under 20g.

How do I get me veg? I love large portions of Crunchie raw veg.

oh gonna have to investigate further.

HemanOrSheRa · 18/07/2017 19:11

Oof. Flipping 'eck it's humid here. Ick.

Food for today:

B - two mugs of tea with almond milk.

L - chicken salad with olives, a few cubes of feta and oily dressing

S - slice of buttered corned beef Blush. Filthy treat but I did share with the dog.

D - pan fried salmon fillet, stir fried veg with a slosh of sesame oil.

I'm eyeing up a very ripe nectarine in the fruit bowl. I might have half, chopped with some Greek yogurt or cream later. Or I might have some goats cheese.

Not enough water today. I'm still guzzling away though.

SayrraT · 18/07/2017 19:17

I know finally it was the fact that the word "poo" had been written!

A few threads ago I posted about how I hate my post-doc, some of you may remember? I was browsing through jobs today and came across a lecturing position which really appealed to me. Although I thought I wouldn't like lecturing, and I'll need to 'bend' my skills/knowledge to fit the job description I'm going to apply for it! Eek!

Might need some help and advice on how to match my skills to suit the position of anyone is particularly good at that?

Or does anyone work as a lecturer?

YoLoZammo · 18/07/2017 20:09

C4 you fraud!! Get thee off this thread. You aren't even overweight!! Wink Grin

But seriously you look gorgeous in your dress. And those shoooooes. The shooooes. I have shoe envy. I bet your DD was as proud of you as you were of her today. Hope you had a fabulous time. And bloody well congratulations to both of you!

Naschkatze · 18/07/2017 20:20

Only just catching up today.

C4 You look amazing. I hope you've all had a wonderful day celebrating, you deserve it!

Food:
B - Smoothie of avocado, almond milk and a few frozen raspberries and strawberries.
L - piece of bacon, cold cooked sausage Hmm
D - leftover chicken, pesto thing with salad.
Greek yoghurt.
Not enough veg today, because my lunch plans were thwarted by a crying baby.
About to have a cup of tea because something on TV is explaining on how it is produced!

wombattoo · 18/07/2017 20:22

C4 You look absolutely lovely. Congratulations to DD Thanks

ilovecherries · 18/07/2017 20:28

Grah, might it actually be the chilli sauce, depending on what type they are using? I have a bottle of sweet chilli sauce in the cupboard which has 9gms of carbs per 15 ml serving.

secretsignal · 18/07/2017 20:42

@cathyandclare I don't tend to post my food any more because it's quite boring. I've been trying to do IF, so breakfast is a creamy coffee, or if I'm really hungry a cheesy omelette, mashed eggs or fried egg and bacon about 10.30. If I do have breakfast, I have lunch much later. It's always a big green salad with either halloumi, prawns or chicken and avocado and mayo. Dinner is a similar salad but with sausages, burger, chicken thighs, salmon fillet etc. Sometimes spiralized cougetti with marscapone and Parmesan. You get the picture! It's quick, tasty and easy!

I don't do any of the breads, crackers, pizza etc (although I'm tempted by the meatzza!). Tried 90% choc once and got huge headache. 2 glasses of wine a week, which is enough for me (I had 2 yrs teetotal due to meds and get merry very easily now!)

This might seem a bit restrictive to some, but I've had years of LF eating and still been overweight! I still can't quite believe I can eat things like bacon, burgers, blue cheese, real mayo, fried halloumi and ff yoghurt (not all together!) it feels incredibly indulgent so I find it really easy to stick to, not like I'm restricting myself or missing out.

I think I'll have to introduce more variety eventually, but not yet I want to lose another half a stone

Sorry for essay Blush

secretsignal · 18/07/2017 20:45
