I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

c4, you are amazing and it's inspiring seeing you persevere despite your difficulties.

Sayrra, I think you look great and being positive about your body is no bad thing - you are strong and fit and that is worth a lot.

Well done on the NSV, captain.

I've also had a small NSV - size 12 is now loose on me although 10 is still a bit too tight. My boobs are smaller to the extent I can be comfortably bra-less.

SayrraT · 18/06/2017 13:16

cleareyes my initial goal is around 12 stone which is still in the overweight category for my height but I don't want to aim for something unachievable. When I get to 12 Stone (hopefully by this time next year) I'll see how I feel then.

I just ate a protein roll with butter, guacamole, kalamata olives and cheddar for lunch, then yoghurt, 3 strawberries, a spoonful of mascarpone and a drizzle of cream. Delicious. I used to overdo it on weekend meals because I would get over excited at lidl and buy naice bread, cheese, baked goods, ice cream and alcohol but today I have had the delicious lunch within bootcamp rules and feel as satisfied as I would do on previous food.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 18/06/2017 13:27

My boobs are smaller to the extent I can be comfortably bra-less.

Ah, nice one. The impossible dream...

Well done, boldly Wink

YoLoZammo · 18/06/2017 13:33

C4 I think I love you a little bit. Flowers

my fat can piss right off is my new mantra.

I have health issues that challenge me, but they are nothing compared to what you deal with every day. You have reminded me how so so lucky I am.

StuntNun · 18/06/2017 13:41

OldBooks I can definitely see a difference between your two photos. Like someone else said, you lose the weight from all over so it can be difficult to see yourself because you zoom in on the wobbly bits rather than seeing the big picture. I find closing my eyes and putting my hands on my waist/hips (as if exasperated with one of the kids!) works better because I can feel where I've gone in a bit, even though I can't see it. When I started my weight loss journey I measured everything I possibly could and I was astounded after a few months that I had lost half an inch off my wrists. I definitely didn't have fat wrists to start with but I had to get all my watches adjusted. It really does prove that the weight comes off all over and that's why it can be hard to see it in the mirror.

Shitty you can't gain three pounds of fat overnight it's impossible. Either your scales are inaccurate or it's water retention and/or bloating.

OldBooks · 18/06/2017 13:43

Captain, I have removed the battery from my scales. Useful as my activity tracker's has just run out! Will weigh again at end of BC.

stunt I also lost weight on my wrists Grin

OldBooks · 18/06/2017 13:48

Thanks Stunt, it is reassuring that you can all see a difference, I see what you mean about it coming off all over rather than just the bits you keep focused on because you just want to see your tummy go

dustmotesinthesun · 18/06/2017 13:49

Cleareyes Grin snorts

Good for you Old Books!

Naschkatze · 18/06/2017 13:56

Wow it's busy here today.

To Jim and others finding it frustrating and demotivating to read about cheats/comments about giving up. I understand, however being accountable to everyone on this thread is what is going to help keep people on the straight and narrow. It would be lovely if we could all do this easily with no slip ups but that's not a realistic expectation. Being new to this WOE is hard, I think, and that's why the support here is fantastic. Flowers and Star for everyone

C4 You are a much stronger person than I can ever imagine being.

I was coming on to post a complaint that despite having lost another 1lb earlier in the week, it's back on today. Instead, Grin I'll just ask about dairy.
Can someone explain what it is about it that can affect loss? Is it just the carb count being a bit higher?
Now I feel like I've got the hang of meal planning on this WOE, I want to reduce dairy this week and see if it makes a difference. What substitutes do people use? Is coconut milk/cream (in a tin) okay to put in coffee? Have a load of old tins in the back of a cupboard.
Also, this brings me to repeat my question about Alpro yoghurt? Is this a good substitute for when I need a quick breakfast to replace the greek yoghurt?
Is hard cheese just as bad as other forms of dairy? Not sure I will survive without cheddar

StuntNun · 18/06/2017 14:07

Sayrra you have achieved so much in the time that I have known you. The pole dancing is particularly impressive. I don't think a positive body image is dependent on your weight. My mum is overweight but she has always had a great confidence in herself. In my opinion it's the most important thing to develop otherwise you will never be happy with your body. You hear about people trying to get a flat stomach or a thigh gap or be a size zero and you realise those people will never be happy with their body. Feeling strong and healthy is a good start to developing a positive body image and you've already done that with your pole and with your horse riding.

As Clear says being overweight doesn't have to mean we dislike the way we look. I used to work in an office with two women. The first was very overweight but had amazing posture and carried herself like a dancer. The second was a really gym bunny, skinny as a rake, but used to hunch her shoulders all the time so she was all folded up over her middle. I know which lady was the more attractive and it wasn't the skinny one.

Cherries, I agree with Dust, some people do better on a slightly higher carb intake than others. I personally don't like the feeling of being in ketosis so I tend to stay slightly higher than most. But it's a fine line as if I go too high then I get more hunger.

C4 thanks for your post. It's so hard to appreciate having a body that works and your post really helped me to remember that I should be grateful for what I have. My dad is seriously disabled and I know he would say exactly the same, and that he wishes he had made the most of his mobility when he had it. In terms of the morphine it sounds like your current treatment is the best option for you at the moment. As you said, you're still quite early in your recovery. I think you should keep on as you are for now and change your morphine treatment later on when you're ready to make the change rather than because you feel that you have to. Your health and recovery has to come before your weight loss.

StuntNun · 18/06/2017 14:16

Motivational post alert!

This is me at my ideal weight of 9 stone having lost 33 lb through the Mumsnet Bootcamp. The bag of dog food that I'm holding in the photo weighs 33 lb, representing how much weight I lost. It took me five months to lose the first 30 lb and another nine months to lose the final three pounds. I had my share of falling off the wagon and requiring BIWI to be expertly wield her big stick but I got there. This way of eating works and it will work for you. Now I'm a low carb coach helping people to lose weight and enabling people with diabetes to regain control of their blood glucose. Low carb has ultimately changed my life and all for the better.

SayrraT · 18/06/2017 14:21

Thanks stunt Smile I've measured my loss in feed bags, I've got a bag of chaff and a bag of bedding to lose.

OldBooks I can see a difference in your pictures, I've made a picture with them together as it's easier to see the changes when you compare side to side. I can post it if you are happy for me to do that?

StuntNun · 18/06/2017 14:31

I love how slender my legs look in that photo. When I look in the mirror I zoom in on my "mum tum" and don't notice that my legs look great and my bingo wings have disappeared... not to mention my oh-so-delicate wrists lol!

C4pinkwheels · 18/06/2017 14:41

Nas thank you, my life is very different now to the first five years of my disability journey - two years ago this weekend I was in ICU recovering from a massive deliberate overdose, which was not a cry for help but a real attempt to end my own misery. A lot has changed since then and I love my life so much now, I take delight in everything I do*

Stunt* I loved being active, I flew power kites, ran 6 miles to the gym most days and was never still, i miss it so much I just want to motivate everyone to wonder at the act of walking. You look amazing.

Oldbooks I can see a difference in your photos.

OldBooks · 18/06/2017 14:46

Sayrra go ahead, my phone has that function but always does it badly (too zoomed in) and won't let me edit

StuntNun · 18/06/2017 14:52

C4 my phone has been playing silly buggers with posts lately as well. I blame the app, its definitely not operator error! I hope you don't mind me asking but what is your long-term prognosis? Will you recover more mobility over time? I'm sure it must be heartbreaking for you to lose so much mobility when it sounds like you were so active before. Flowers

SayrraT · 18/06/2017 15:23

Here you go OldBooks

C4 the only bold I see in your posts is the poster's name.

C4pinkwheels · 18/06/2017 15:38

Stuntnun I don't mind you asking, I have two spinal cord injuries one was a broken neck in 2008, accident caused by an unknown twat but because I could feel and move everything I chose not to go to hospital and went to the pub instead. That cost me my right arm and my diaphragm but because I was ridiculously fit, active and a workaholic and a dick shit consultant the break was missed.
The second is a lumber spine injury caused by medical negligence by a GP and the same dick shit consultant in 2010. This stopped me walking, working and wanting to live, we also discovered we had no friends. Not one single person was there for us, including some close family.
My most recent surgery was life saving as my spine had started to curve and was crushing one lung and stretching the other. We knew I had compromised breathing but the consultant I was under is an incompetent idiot and failed to diagnose the problem over three years. It was after surgery that I began to have major problems and thanks the the fresh eyes of a new respiratory team they discovered that somehow I had survived for nine years without a working diaphragm.

Long term: the paralysis will always be there, I will never be able to piss or shit without mechanical aids, I can stand and walk a bit with splints, elbow crutches and an enormous amount of energy. If it gets me from the drivers door to the boot of the car I can use a hoist to get my wheelchair out and I have a degree of independence. I will always need to be ventilated at night and twice during the day and at some point I may need complete ventilator support.
But I can still have an orgasm and in 2019 I am going to do the Great North Run, not in a wheelchair because I'm not a pussy, I'm going to walk with my broken body and paralysed shitty legs and I don't care if it takes a week. I have a support team of my physio and DH who will walk next to me with my wheelchair so that I can sit down and rest. I will do it fuelled by meat, cheese and double cream.
I do expect my boot camp buddies to be there to cheer me over the finish line.

C4. That's some shitty events that have lead you to where you are. I'm in awe of your determination to do the great north run.

This was my lunch , pad Thai salad from Wagamama. Don't normally post food pictures as my meals are usually boring!
