Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Coming to the end of our first month

I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

Thank you stunt, you always have advice up your sleeve Wink

CodLiverOil556 · 16/06/2017 10:52

So having had a disaster with my flaxseed bread I googled some recipes and found this. It's actually very tasty and only 2g per portion

kermit
What a wonderful idea to share our fat with birds! I'm starting today

OldBooks · 16/06/2017 11:29

Old it sounds like it could be both too little fat and electrolytes out of kilter. If you are trying to avoid dairy, then butter doesn't have the same effect, so just up the butter. You can never have too much butter. Alternatively, carry on glugging the cream (my preferred option grin). Make sure you are cooking with salt and a mid afternoon stock drink sounds like a good idea.

Thanks for the advice Captain. I have been trying to cut down on dairy, though not very successfully. Need to be a bit more organised but have had nightmare bedtimes this week with the DC which cuts my evening down and saps my energy/will to prep snacks! My job is very 'thinky' so I tend to get brain fatigue if that makes sense, I feel tired, dizzy etc but not from activity, from concentrating! Cream really seems to help but maybe if I treat myself to good butter I could just eat that like a pp does!

Some NSVs this week, my jawline is starting to appear and my face is noticeably slimmer. Someone said upthread that they had comments about their hair as if people couldn't quite work out what was different. I have had a few similar comments and keep suggesting that it is my new volumising shampoo that is making the difference Grin Also I sent a selfie of me and DD1 and my mum was saying how pretty I look which is unlike her so she must see a difference, even without the weight loss all this water means my skin is lovely.

Jim I read your post and thought of this: Grin

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 16/06/2017 12:04

Well I have lost over 6lb in 3 days doing boot camp so far, but today I have gone from constipated to having very painful cramps and diarrhoea! Please tell me the bowels settle down! 😣

Naschkatze · 16/06/2017 12:19

C4 That quilt is beautiful! I'm very jealous of people so creatively talented!

Jiminny I admire your tact and self control. That would have made me quite angry I think. I've never done SW but it's always sounded a bit odd. How do people lose weight on it?

Kermit I used to love feeding the birds but now I feel bad enticing them into the garden when the cats catch them!

Another really bad nights sleep with poorly DS has killed my appetite. I had a Coyo yoghurt for breakfast (5g) carbs and am a bit peckish now but no energy to decide what I want!

cabbage67 · 16/06/2017 12:23

Whats the 'Shred' that lots of you are talking about? I think I need to try this.

I feel I'm getting desperate as week 4 and I'm still not seeing much of a change on the scales, although I have lost cm's from waist and hips but its not the same as seeing the scales move is it? Maybe I need to cut down on the dairy.

I will KOKO and reading everyone's achievements and advice gives me encouragement. I feel that I am taking more from this than I am actually contributing - is that wrong?

Thanks all

knottyhair · 16/06/2017 12:29

Cabbage, it's Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred workout DVD. 3 levels, each one about 25 mins. 3 mins strength, 2 mins of cardio, 1 min abs, repeated 3 times in each level. I started it in Jan 2011 and am now the proud owner of around 18 of her DVDs not including 12 disc Bodyshred series . Not that I'm obsessed or nuffink.

AdalindSchade · 16/06/2017 12:39

cabbage for some reason the weight loss stops in week 3-4. No clue why. Mine stayed the same for 2 weeks and am now in week 5 and it is moving down again.

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 16/06/2017 12:47

Cabbage it's a truly evil set of exercises. I'm still on level 1 and its slowly getting easier. I find swearing at Gillian helps

styledilemma · 16/06/2017 12:51

Style every time I've done a carb refeed I've ended up struggling to get back on track for weeks. It definitely hasn't helped with weight loss. I could just be weak-willed though

Thanks for all the advice.
I think I'll give the Carb Refeed a miss. I get the feeling that unless fI did it properly I could end up undoing all the good work.
KOKO is the way to go. Hmm
I'm happy with the way I'm shaping up, so I will use that as my main motivation and not rely on the scales all the time.

ilovecherries · 16/06/2017 12:57

It's hard to believe this was actually ok! Summer berry omelette (only a few berries, chopped up), with a dollop of whipped double cream on the side. Couldn't finish it, though.

shittymctwatface · 16/06/2017 12:57

Thanks BIWI. Your right, I've thrown out the jelly/Atkins bars and will also cut the bacon.

I've boiled eggs for quick snacks and stuck list of acceptable foods on fridge! I lost 1.5 stone in 3 weeks before my stall, I think I got cocky!!

I had 100g cheese mixed with 100g double cream over spinach, aubergine and courgette yesterday. It was heaven! But to much dairy?

Style keep on posting your meals so that we can have a nosy at what you're eating. How long have the scales stayed the same for
It's only been this week that they've stayed the same, so I can't complain, I suppose.

Today:
B - 2 buttery scrambled eggs + half an avocado
S - Creamy coffee
L - ham, cheese and mixed leaf salad
D - Will be Duck with asparagus followed by dessert of extra thick double cream and a few raspberries tossed in.

I'm going to treat myself to two drinks this evening. I will more than likely have either Gin or soda + ice & slice.

I'm adamant I'm not touching wine with this woe, as that seems to be my 'trigger' for binging on snacks.
So far I've stuck to it, even though (to me anyway) gin and vodka doesn't quite hit the mark like a nice, cold, crisp, white wine does Sad

styledilemma · 16/06/2017 13:02

PLEASE DON'T EVEN CONSIDER DOING A CARB RE-FEED YET!

OK BIWI
Message receive, loud and clear Smile

styledilemma · 16/06/2017 13:06

jimminy what is it with some people and pushing bloody cake all the time?
My mother is the same, she gets offended if you don't eat her cake.
I could understand if she'd slaved away for hours making it, but it's usually shop bought anyway.
It's as if they take it personally if you refuse.

Good on you for staying strong. It's not easy.

ilovecherries · 16/06/2017 13:07

random, I'm hoping they do! But I'm nearly at the end of my 4th week, and my gut isn't anywhere near right yet. Just trying to tell myself it's the outward sign of all the internal changes that must be happening.

MOIST · 16/06/2017 13:08

Namaste but he's

Today I am mostly eating chicken. Fried.

MOIST · 16/06/2017 13:08

My phone is too polite. Bitches.

styledilemma · 16/06/2017 13:10

The bastard belly. That's what I'll call it from now on

Clear, I have the bastard boobs back Grin

I tell myself that things are filling up with water, ready for another woosh
Then your bastard belly and my bastard boobs will hopefully get smaller again.

styledilemma · 16/06/2017 13:14

Does your MIL undermine you with everything Jiminny or just around diet. Do you think she's feeling threatened because she has always regarded you as "the fat one" and used your being overweight to make herself feel better about her own weight?

I agree. She feels threatened by you.
There's strength in numbers. If you end up being slimmer than her, she will be the only fat one in the family.
Stay strong.

styledilemma · 16/06/2017 13:19

cabbage don't get disheartened.
I've stuck fairly rigidly to every thing and haven't cheated at all so far and even my weight loss has stalled.
I think it's normal and to be expected.
We have to KOKO and eventually things will gradually start moving again Flowers

styledilemma · 16/06/2017 13:23

oh yeah and
Namasta Bitches!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 16/06/2017 13:26
