I don't think that BIWI has managed to post a new thread so I'll do this one.

I don't have the wise words of BIWI so I'll just say that by now you should be more in the swing of lcing so just keep it up and remember, only 1 week until bclite.

Hopefully you all have a successful weigh-in but if not, don't be disheartened. Post for some help and we will do our best.

Jiminny I tried feeding my cat a raw food diet but she prefers Whiskas! She does like kefir though. My DBIL has two Bassets too - lovely dogs.

OldBooks · 30/05/2017 13:01

getready - I have been known to drink it from the pot. I have not bought any this week!

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 30/05/2017 13:04

Jiminny - I like the chorizo crisps, rodillos, mini cheeses etc, but you can get them much cheaper elsewhere (Aldi etc) I don't rate the crackling crisps, they're not very nice.

I'm thinking of not weighing until the end of bootcamp. I've had problems with excessive & obsessive weighing before and I can feel myself going down that road again. I'll see how it is next week and decide then.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 30/05/2017 13:04

I have drunk cream from the pot a couple of times too - only a little bit but still Blush

Breakfast for me was Greek yoghurt and a creamy coffee. Lunch will be tuna mayo salad. Dinner TBC.

Are we allowed to cook with wine?

HemanOrSheRa · 30/05/2017 13:05

You are absolutely right about the control thing oxygen. We went on holiday last August and I became obsessed about my weight from about March (after piling on at least a stone from Dec) til May when I collapsed in a heap and my dear sister was in tears asking me to just stop. Actually in some ways in was quite liberating! I went on holiday the fattest I've ever been but by that point I'd flipped the 'fuck it' switch and really didn't care what people thought of me! I wore a bikini and everything Grin. I realised people really, really do not give two hoots what you look like.

We're off again in August and this time I know I just have to do the best I can and it will be fine Smile.

Jimminy check out the deli range in M&S you'll find stuff that is suitable for when you are walking. I keep meaning to check the ready meals too for carb count. For lazy cba days!

AdalindSchade · 30/05/2017 13:33

I feel quite sicky today. I threw up my eggs this morning and I jut feel like the fat is sitting in my stomach. On the plus side I'm not hungry! I ate my salad and nuts (vegetarian) at lunch and still feel quite sick. Is it possible I'm eating too much fat? I had butter with breakfast, cream in my coffee, olive oil on my salad as well as a small portion of feta. It's definitely making me feel queasy.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 30/05/2017 13:38

dustmotes way to plan ahead, well done. These small victories really add up, and it feels great.

explodingkittens · 30/05/2017 13:38

Lol at drinking cream from the pot - I've just had a sneaky bit while waiting for the kettle to boil! I did want to cut down my dairy a bit this week but it seems I have to have some sort of indulgence and cream might as well be it!

Manic morning with various things going on so have only just got home to grab a quick lunch (and MN time) before going out again. Lunch was four leftover chicken thighs sliced up and dipped in a bowl of mustardy mayo, followed by a few slices of cucumber and a creamy coffee. We never got around to eating the tuna steaks last night so I think they're back on the menu for tonight.

I actually got on the scales this morning and have dropped 3lbs - tempted to put that on the spreadsheet instead of yesterday's STS weight, but I'll be good and just hope it doesn't creep back on before next Monday. I must've had a wooosh overnight...

Naschkatze · 30/05/2017 13:52

Flowers Captain. Look after yourself.

Meals today:
B - Almond milk, avocado and raspberry smoothie (BClite). It was okay but missing something a bit bland.
L - Mozzarella, tomato and ham with salad leaves and a pesto mayonnaise dressing. Used 20g of the pesto and it came to 1g of carbs.
D - will be homemade salmon fish fingers and 'chips' from the Low Carb Revolution cookbook (that has been hiding in the back of a kitchen cupboard) broccoli and salad. Chips will be made from celeriac which I've never tried before! Shock Salmon will be coated with ground almonds. Could be delicious/weird. I'll let you know!
S - a piece of chorizo and a stick of cheese. Just about to drink a creamy coffee while the baby sleeps Smile

Mandelinka · 30/05/2017 14:15

Weigh in today, loss of 4 lbs. Very happy with the result. My work uniform ( black suit) feels definitely more comfortable

Would it be possible for somebody to add my loss to the sheet? Thank you

B: 1/3 avo, celery stick, pate, cream cheese, 3 cherry tomatoes
L: roasted chicken, creamed spinach
D: will think about it, most likely broccoli based

Lovely day to everyone!

imustbepatient · 30/05/2017 14:16

Captain Flowers from me too, and to everyone who has had / is having some pretty tough times with ill and aging family members.

I've got my two DCs at home today plus two of their friends. All going well so far and I haven't been driven to the dark choc or wine

B 2 x ham and cheese roll ups, creamy coffee

L I took the kids to a local supermarket cafe and had hoped there would be a salad of some sort that I could eat with added mayo, but no such luck. All the meals were pretty carb centric but they were still serving breakfast so I had 2 x sausages, 1 x bacon, 1 x fried egg and swapped the fried bread it would have come with for a tomato instead. Added mayo to all of it, v nice and filling for quite a small plate of food

D planning to have pork belly, roast French beans and some salad.

Dumdedumdedum · 30/05/2017 14:42

Captain Flowers and handhold from here, too.

YoLoZammo · 30/05/2017 14:48

dustmotes (my phone wants to call you duetnotes Wink) great advice re planning ahead for tiredness and binge triggers. And well done for taking steps. I shall try and follow your example.

I usually have a regular mid afternoon crash which I medicate with sugar and caffeine. I go jittery and faint and feel really sleepy. I have meaty snacks in my work fridge today so hopefully will avoid this. Having said that, my morning creamy coffee filled me up so didn't have breakfast till 11am (yogurt, cream and pinch of fruit), then have forced myself to eat lunch at 2.30 as just wasn't hungry. I am normally craving lunch by 11am after toast at 9am! Who am I??? I don't recognise myself any more! Shock This is the new me! Grin

wombattoo · 30/05/2017 14:51

Done Mandelinka

YoLoZammo · 30/05/2017 15:08

Forgot to mention water. That will take some getting used to! According to the chart, I should drink 4.5 litres a day!! 4.5 litres!!!! I fear I will slosh and leak a lot Confused. I managed 2.5l yesterday which is a big change from normal. Today, I'm doing my best to improve on that. Not getting much work done though as I've spent half the day in the loo!

OldBooks · 30/05/2017 15:30

Just made these using a crustless quiche recipe. Really excited to try them. Going to be a great breakfast at work for the rest of the week.

Week 2 - Pre-summer low carb bootcamp
timeforheroes · 30/05/2017 15:57

Hi, I just added myself to the spreadsheet, hope that's OK.

I've been doing low-carb for a while and have lost 54lbs since having DTwins. I've been a bit rubbish this last couple of months as I do low-carb most of the time but then let DH talk me in to a pizza or ice cream at the weekend. I've maintained my 54lb loss, but want to lose between 14 and 28 lbs more (will know when I get there!). We emigrate at the end of July and I'm painfully aware I will be in swimwear a lot!

Didn't realise this bootcamp existed, hoping the support will keep me focused. I know it works, it's just complacency.

I don't eat breakfast as I follow intermittent fasting for health reasons, so today's food is -

L - Quorn fillets, salad, seeds and dressing.
D - Salmon with feta, courgette and mint fritters.

HemanOrSheRa · 30/05/2017 16:06

I have a question about the flax bread that StuntNun posted. Does it freeze well? It looks lovely but I'm not sure I can be trusted with a whole loaf. DS may eat some but DP has bowel issues which it may irritate so he won't be able to have any.

MOIST · 30/05/2017 16:17

Just dreamt I was eating honey and ice cream and chocolate Shock

I've not even missed sugar yet. Shock

HemanOrSheRa · 30/05/2017 16:32

That must be like dreaming that you've had a ciggy when you've given up smoking MOIST. I had a rude dream about my boss .

secretsignal · 30/05/2017 16:35

Sorry haven't caught up with thread as have guests.

Have slipped up. Had painful conversation with a dear relative about their debilitating progressive illness. Came in the kitchen and attacked the crisps I'd set out with lunch, which I had previously happily ignored. Finally recognising my emotional eating patterns. V disappointed in myself, but now having a coffee with cream and will get back on it.

GetReady · 30/05/2017 16:44

Ladies (will read thread later)

Dinner!

Red cabbage chilli!

You have to make this!!!

My skin is SO fantastic at the moment. Just baby soft. I love how low carb does that to you. Food affects so much.

Mine too dustomte It's not at all dry.

It must be all the avocado, water, fresh greens and salmon I'm eating. Oh an the salt. It's now been discovered salt isn't the bad boy it's been made out to be. In fact, we aren't eating enough salt. Our bodies need salt.

styledilemma · 30/05/2017 16:59

I stopped drinking alcohol at xmas
I also, over the course of 4 months, lost 8 pounds in weight, doing nothing else but stop drinking.

Cherries, I know that in my case, I make bad food choices when I've had a drink. I get the munchies.
Sometimes I think it's that more than the actual alcohol that puts on the weight.

styledilemma · 30/05/2017 17:07

Getready I LOVE cream.
It's the one thing I'm not getting sick of.
Eggs, yes, I've had enough of them.
Babybels, be glad to see the back of them.
pork scratchings (even the posh M & S ones) yuck yuck yuck.
But not cream. Give me cream Smile

Come to think of it, I don't think I could ever get sick of sausage either Hmm
