Evening all!

I'm starting this thread now as I have to leave early for work tomorrow. and I know how keen you'll all be to weigh-in first thing, so won't want to wait until I can get round to getting it up and running Grin

Here's the link to the lovely shiny new Spreadsheet of Fabulousness ]] for which many thanks, SayrraT.

Your name should be on it, but if it isn't, just add it at the bottom. Don't try and re-alphabetise the list - Sayrra or Wombattoo will do that later.

And don't touch the blue cells!!!

Evening all - Well done all with a weight loss...I wished I hadn't stepped on the blimming scales this morning as I appear to have gained 3ounces!

I haven't slipped up once so hope I'm doing it right?

Anyone else go achy knees? I have had heavy achy knees since last night as if I've walked a marathon.

Look forward to some advice

Giraffeski · 24/05/2017 20:07

Hi all- I've been madly busy with work so not really posted but I've been very good! Especially as our packaging supplier sent us a massive box of Haribo randomly!
Breakfast yesterday was smoked salmon and scrambled egg cooked in butter
Lunch was antipasti and dinner was a green salad with chicken, prawns, olive oil dressing and a Babybel.
Today had egg muffins made with cheese, courgettes and broccoli for breakfast- felt dreadful when I got up and been awful all day, very achey and tired (but thought may have been work)
I've had brain fog and moving slower than usual. Didn't really want any lunch but ate a babybel and a piece of chicken.
Dinner was a barbecue so I had a burger, a sausage (low carb 97% pork one from M&S, think it was 0.1g/100g) and a load of green salad with olive oil vinegarette. Oh also had some halloumi and goats cheese with the salad.
I've had one cup of tea wth a splash of unsweetened almond milk (much lower carbs than milk if anyone else is dairy free)
And lots of water!

Hey dust I'm a big fan of cold showers, well finishing a cold shower with a burst of cold water.

Even better for me and my favourite relaxation is to alternate sitting in the hot bubbly pool ( Nirvana Spa one is brill) with dips in the coldest plunge pool. It takes a bit of nerve to continue into the cold, especially the first time after a while, but once my skin feels warm although sitting neck deep in cold water, I really feel exhilarated. And then getting back into the warm water feels boiling hot, too.

Like a sauna, but much, much better. Picked up the habit growing up in Germany...

secretsignal · 24/05/2017 20:10

Thanks for adding me wombattoo Smile. Dinner was pan fried chicken with salad leaves, 2 cherry tomatoes, avocado, a couple of blobs of marscapone and a sprinkling of grated cheddar. Was random but lush.

dustmotesinthesun · 24/05/2017 20:14

Ha! ClearEyes Quite possibly!

Finally glad to hear you're a fan. I know the Germans love this sort of things. And Scandinavians.

I have a friend who gets to her local river as much as she can to swim. She stuck it out all last winter most days and I know she said it helped massively with her SAD. I've never been that hard core but then I don't have a river too close by.

Polkadotties · 24/05/2017 20:15

B - 2x babybel
L - 2 x thighs, few plum tomatoes, mozzarella pearls, mixed leaves, lots of olive oil
D - two big slices of pork belly, Costco do the best pork belly, broccoli and cabbage with butter
I've drunk so much water today, feel water logged!

HemanOrSheRa · 24/05/2017 20:17

Are you eating enough dementedma? Only I have an enormous appetite and I've hardly been hungry at all between meals. I've got hungry just before meals but not HANGRY. I did have a very small snack today at about 4.30 pm but that was because I had to go out so I knew I wouldn't be able to eat until later.

Pork belly dinner was delicious! Todays food:

Very late breakfast/lunch as I slept all morning: tomato, avocado and mozzarella with basil and olive oil. Small wedge of crustless quiche. Coffee with cream.

Snack: 3 small halloumi and parma ham bites that I made last night. 5 olives.

Dinner: crispy pork belly, mushroom and garlic creamy sauce. Green veg with a drizzle of butter (and roasting juices from pork Grin).

3l of water so far which is 0.5l short. I'll have a pint of water before bed.

I bought a couple of tops from Mistrall a few weeks ago. They were supposed to be loose fitting and flowing from the underbust down . They were most certainly not on me Sad. I kept them as I am determined that they WILL FIT. I braved it and tried them on again earlier. One of them fit perfectly! Other one is a wee bit tight. So despite feeling like a huge fat waddling flump in the heat something is moving from somewhere Smile.

Cherrypi · 24/05/2017 20:40

Don't read the ice cream thread. I really want ice cream now. Or anything sweet. I'm not hungry it's just sugar cravings.

Nosocksevermatchup · 24/05/2017 20:40

Dustmotes, I'll try the morning cold shower.
Today's meals:
B - Greek yoghurt
L - tuna mayo with green salad and linseed oil . Greek yog.
T - pan fried cod in butter, asparagus with butter, spinach with a bit of cream, green salad
Tea with almond milk.
Does this sound ok? I actually feel really fat today, I'm not weighing myself until Monday, but a bit worried I've put weight on already.
Felt a bit grim today, so must be carb flu. Hopefully I'll be ok tomorrow.

BIWI · 24/05/2017 20:41

Big LOL at beangate! Grin

You all need to unclench a bit I think! Whilst the veg counter is important, and you need to focus on veg that's 3g carbs per 100g as much as you can, none of that veg is forbidden on Bootcamp - as long as you go easy on anything above 3g per 100g

However, re the bread - yes, I think that should be left until Bootcamp Light, so sorry for teasing/tempting you with it now! Blush

And now I have a confession - I won't be around now very much until Tuesday, as we're off to Malta for the weekend. This is my Christmas present from DH.

I will do my very best to stay true to Bootcamp, although I shall definitely be falling foul of rule no. 7. Grin

Once I'm back, however, I'm definitely back properly. I have a lovely holiday to look forward to at the end of October, so need to be in shape for that. Not that I'm competitive at all, but I'm going with somebody who is whip thin ... Hmm

Dustomotes, does the shower have to be freezing to start with?

Can I get under it while it's cool (rather than cold) then turn it up to cold?

lisbapalea · 24/05/2017 20:50

Totally missed that a new bootcamp had started but I started my own on Monday. No I know you guys are all on it I will follow proper bootcamp rules (have been doing light until I just realised this is on). Will update spreadsheet tomorrow but here's my update:

12st 9
Want to lose a stone

B: Greek yog, flaxseed, berries (bc light but will be back on proper bc tomorrow)
L: tuna mayo with soft boiled egg and anchovy on top of lettuce dressed with olive oil and cider vinegar
D: BBQ'd mackerel with green beans and asparagus, plus a BBQ'd portabella mushroom stuffed with cream cheese, garlic and Parmesan.

styledilemma · 24/05/2017 20:51

I hope you have a good time in Malta BIWI.

styledilemma · 24/05/2017 20:53

I'm starting to get a funny taste in my mouth this evening. Maybe it's started Hmm

I've drunk tons of water and stuck to everything, so I think I'm doing it right.

wombattoo · 24/05/2017 20:54

Have a lovely time BIWI. Do you want us to keep hold of your big stick? We may need to wave it at you when you get back Wink

wombattoo · 24/05/2017 20:55

Ketosis style. Keep up with the water and it will pass Smile

explodingkittens · 24/05/2017 21:00

Love beangate! Must admit I eat green beans (squeaky beans in our house too) fairly frequently as dp loves them and I don't think it's a problem.

sayra, forgot to say how amazing those pics are - you look so strong and your shape is lovely

So a shit and stressful day at work meant I didn't get a chance to eat my proper lunch, just a bag of almonds at the desk which I know is a bit off-piste but it was that or a felafel wrap and chips, so...

Dinner was an improvement - grilled trout fillet with buttered cabbage and a lovely salad of spiralized courgette and carrot dressed with olive oil, lemon, salt and pepper - sounds a bit odd but it was really yummy. I've also just had a small pot of full fat Greek yogurt with some double cream and flaxseed.

Despite the shit day I've not succumbed to the white wine that's in the fridge or the tub of salted caramel Oppo that's in the freezer.

Dunno if I can bear thought of a cold shower first thing in the morning, even though I'm sure it's really good for you Grin

Ciarabean · 24/05/2017 21:05

New to Bootcamp and have made it to Day 3. Already feeling more energetic and well-watered.
Huge thanks to BIWI and Saayra and good luck everyone.
B: olives, Greek yogurt, coffee with cream
L: Chorizo and cheese salad, olives
D: mushroom omelette, salad
Snacks: 2 hard boiled eggs, spinach, M&S crackling crisps
2L water.

HemanOrSheRa · 24/05/2017 21:09

I know this is probably a really daft question but I'll ask it anyway! Is exercise a good or bad thing when on bootcamp? I really would like to get back into running again if I can. I am incredibly unfit so thought I would start doing some short HIIT sessions and maybe going on the treadmill. I need to lose some weight/fat before I dare venture outside to jog Confused. Will exercise hinder fat loss?

dustmotesinthesun · 24/05/2017 21:09

style i have no idea but i'd do what works for you. It isn't easy to get under a freezing shower. i know that after a week or two it's psychologically much easier.

BIWI · 24/05/2017 21:23

Heman exercise is always a good thing - but I'd be careful about doing something too intensive in the initial couple of weeks, while your body is adjusting back to low carbing.

The other thing you have to be wary of is the whole 'I've exercised so I deserve a treat/can allow myself to eat more' mentality - which is very easy to do!!!

In terms of weight loss, it's diet that plays the major role. Exercise is important for your general health and wellbeing, but won't necessarily help you lose weight. Dr. Jason Fung, who wrote The Obesity Code, puts exercise as only 5% in terms of weight loss, and diet at 95%.

Enjoy Malta BIWI I'm going there the end of June and thanks to your boot camp I hope to be a stone lighter. All going well so far, sugar cravings are gone and good habits are building.

Asmoto · 24/05/2017 21:38

More veg today per recommendations Smile:

Brunch (working late) Spinach omelette
'Tea' - cottage cheese, cold meat, spring onions
Supper - Fish pate and green salad

achangeisgonnacome · 24/05/2017 21:42

Hi all,

Posting today's food intake:

B:Ham and cheese plus a cup of tea
L: on the train, so had M&S chicken and chorizo pinchitos (kebabs)
D: I'd some left over fajita mix, so did chicken (without the actual fajitas) plenty of salad instead
S: a couple of M&S chorizo crisps and crackling crisps (1/4 pack of each) and another cup of tea

Still not drinking enough water though - will that make any difference?
