So our last week! Here's the Spreadsheet for its penultimate outing

One more week could see another couple of pounds off.

Fingers crossed, and good luck! Flowers

I need menu help again Blush

By the way, at the pottery place i posted about i had goats cheese salad followed by a ploughmans without the bread or pickle... so basically cheese and butter mBlush Twas yum though Grin

New menu problem: Off out with my mum and dad for dinner on Sunday, both parents massively disapprove of low carb and think it's going to kill me Hmm So, in the interests of family harmony i need to pick things that i can eat without obviously being low carb... if they realise, the conversation for the rest of the meal will be about fad diet, how fat i am and why Hmm

I'm thinking:
Start: Meat platter (ask for no bread quietly)
Main: King Prawn Skewers
Pudding: Oh gosh, I'm stuffed and couldn't possibly...

Your choices look good to me Hesdead I see there are olives you could have as a starter yuk. It would be steak with salad for me Smile

Bibs2014 · 26/04/2017 18:53

My menu today

Sausages and scrambled egg
Lunch was cooked chicken - didn't feel very hungry
Dinner was pork belly with spinach and cabbage stir fried in olive oil and garlic

MiniCooperLover · 26/04/2017 19:37

Breakfast was scrambled eggs cooked in butter and double cream and smoked salmon.

Lunch was a salad with cheese, Mayo, olive oil and Palma ham.

Dinner was salad and chippolatas. It was supposed to be salmon but it was off when I opened it so a bit more processed meat than I'd usually do but olive oil and mayo filled them out. The sausages were Asda and 2.2g per 100g.

Lots of water.

BIWI · 27/04/2017 07:59

@Hesdeadjim - gosh, that's not an easy menu to navigate, is it?!

I'd go for the Vegetarian platter, but leave the bread. Right from the off if you ask for no bread you risk drawing attention to yourself.

If asked why you've left it, you can always say that the veg is what you prefer/you want to make sure you're leaving room for your main.

For mains, other alternatives would be the lamb loin (although I think they've left out what it's actually on a bed of!), the cod - new potatoes are the lowest carb of all potatoes - or the fillet steak.

And definitely be too full for pudding!

A new low weight this morning, for the first time in nearly 6 weeks! Also, I put a pair of jeans on and they nearly fell down. DH says I need a belt, not new jeans... What does he know lol

Bibs2014 · 27/04/2017 08:44

Another half a pound off for me this morning!
Any more and I'll be the lightest weight this year even though I've been 'dieting' all year Hmm

Hesdeadjim · 27/04/2017 08:57

Thanks BIWI and yeah the menu is confusing! I actually picked the restaurant thinking Italian food would be easier to navigate than Indian, pub food or Thai food (the only other real options in our town), there's plenty I can have though and it all sounds yum.

Re: potatoes, didn't know that about new potatoes but I still have issues trusting my attitude to certain foods. I still worry I can't eat in moderation when triggered so I want to avoid anything resembling a starchy food Until I'm more confident.

Same thing for the bread, I'm worried if it's on my table and I'm in a good mood and having fun,I'll throw caution to the wind and eat it. I think if you've had issues with binge eating before you'll understand!

dustmotesinthesun · 27/04/2017 09:03

Just wanted to say I had such a great day yesterday

I had bacon, 1 egg and a spoon of coconut oil for breakfast, some prosciutto and avocado and salad for lunch with a small tangerine. Supper was zoodles with beef mince and cauliflower.

I didn't snack and didn't have much hunger.

I love it when it's this easy!

greengoose21 · 27/04/2017 10:01

Ok, so I did it.

I got on the scales this morning, and I weighed 11 stone. My goal weight. 3 months and one day after I started this WOE, and I've lost 2st 3lbs. I really cannot believe it. It's beyond my wildest dreams.

I just wanted to come on here to thank everybody from the bottom of my heart. This group of people, Sayrra, Captain, Wombat, Jim, all you others and most especially @BIWI** have been the most amazing companions on this journey. I just lurked for the first few weeks, but I've read every single post and have taken so much from your support - whether it be directed at me, or at others.

I know that I am very, very lucky and that others won't find this journey so easy. I've been fortunate in that I've been off work so I've had time to focus on what I eat and get plenty of exercise without the usual work food distractions. This is the first time I've ever low carbed, and I realise its much harder if you've done it before. I'm also taking some medication that may or may not have made it easier to shift the weight. But I am absolutely clear that what has made the difference has been the support and advice of you lot.

So I will shower you all with flowers FlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowers and go and reward myself with a cup of creamy coffee.

Hi hesdead I so know what you mean about being afraid to have some food around, incase you start eating it and then can't stop again. Hope you enjoy your meal and don't find yourself wasting your appetite on padding.

Incase it helps, have found something relevant to this situation that stuntnun said very helpful, along the lines that LCHF is now my new normal. If I ever go off plan, because I fancy something or because its there or whatever, not to stress about it but focus on getting back to normal as quickly as possible.

It hasn't actually happened to me since i read that, so I can't speak from experience, but I find it enormously promising and comforting strategy. I'm hoping it will also stop me falling into the trap of feeling that having gone off track once, I might as well eat everything in sight (ok, stock up on ice creme and eat it a tub at a time) while I can, before I get back to LCHF. So if (when) I fall off the waggon, I have a strategy, to just get back to normal (LCHF) right away. I find the whole idea that LCHF might be my normal and I might, at some point not too far off, be a normal sized person, enormously motivating.

p.s. Thank you very much for those references. I find myself having to bite my tongue more and more often, faced with the ignorance around this way of eating.

ragz134 · 27/04/2017 10:23

greengoose huge well done to you, that must feel amazing!

FinallyHere · 27/04/2017 10:43

Goodness, greengoose congratulations and very well done on reaching your goal.

Missed your post as I was typing: talking of motivating things, hearing that someone has 'got there' using this way of eating is such a boost for us all. Hurrah!

dustmotesinthesun · 27/04/2017 11:27

Very impressive greengoose. Huge well done

Kleptronic · 27/04/2017 11:48

Yay greengoose! Well in missus!

Hesdeadjim · 27/04/2017 12:20

WHOOP!!!

GET IN greengoose! FlowersStar

Huge congrats!

derxa · 27/04/2017 12:36

I've been low carbing over the last couple of months and have lost about a stone. I had reached 18st 5lbs. Blush I need to get a pair of decent scales. What i find difficult is giving up alcohol.

Hesdeadjim · 27/04/2017 13:09

Life curve ball this evening: DP has a gif so it looks like I'm eating out Hmm

At least with this WOE I have options on menus and can stay on track..

CaptainBraandPants · 27/04/2017 13:35

greengoose Bloody well done.Flowers Please stay on the thread to give me us all motivation.

Well, I had my first really carby/ bad day since I restarted on 1st Jan on Tuesday. Thought I got away with it as I stayed the same yesterday, but up 2lbs today. But I don't care Well, I do really, but I knew this would happen eventually and I am still here and it was only one day, well several hours and I got right back on track yesterday, so that is a victory in my book. Smile When this has happened before, i have slunk off with my tail between my legs and carried on eating lots of carbs.
Why did I do it? I didn't really know, no obvious trigger. Then, I started by period this morning...

So, food wise, yesterday had:
B: 2 x creamy coffees
L: flax bread and butter, with tuna mayo and olives
D: spag bol without the spag, but with courgetti.
S: cheese
Drank lots of water.

Today:
B: creamy coffee x3 - had the third because my office mate was pissing me off. Not a great reason. Blush
L: butter chicken and cauli rice. Think it tasted even better rewarmed.
D: DH is out, think I will do an omelette.
drinking gallons again today

Hesdead what's a gif? and from that menu, it'd be the meat platter followed by steak and salad for me, yum.

CaptainBraandPants · 27/04/2017 13:41

Forgot, I wanted to show my weight loss graph - got to get that line down again. Also, I had a 110 day streak which I've fucked up. Never mind, just need to get rid of that current upward trend.

@greengoose21 massive congratulations! Flowers

And whilst the thanks are always much appreciated, be in no doubt that it was you who did the hard work!

@Hesdeajim - I don't (thankfully) have any experience of binge eating, but I don know what it's like to be faced with temptation Grin Sadly it happens almost every day, and it's so easy to give in, but also to justify that giving in, at that moment in time. And then we risk the danger of the slippery slope into carby twatdom.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by DH having a gif, but hope you manage to swerve whatever it is!

Hesdeadjim · 27/04/2017 14:01

Sorry! Gig not gif Blush He's a musician!

FinallyHere · 27/04/2017 14:34

Gig (made me laugh put loud, sigh working from home today and missing having anyone to distract me from work.

carby twatdom I'm loving this expression, shall adopt it right away.

Bibs2014 · 27/04/2017 16:42

I slipped into carby twatdom! I've had a cadburys creme egg, a slice of bread and biscuit at my mums house 😡. Shall I continue like it never happened or cut back?

StuntNun · 27/04/2017 17:02

Just get straight back on the wagon Bibs. You might get more cravings over the next couple of days so be ready with low carb snacks.
