Evening all!

Just getting this out there, so that everyone knows where to go/what to do in the morning.

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I'd like to say a massive thank you and Flowers to Sayrra and Wombattoo who set this up and maintain it for us all.

PLEASE don't touch anything other than the cell where you input your weight.

If your name isn't on the list, just add it to the bottom, and it will be magically re-alphabetised to include you.

It's called the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness because of all the information and resources that are available to us. Look at the tabs at the bottom - the rules are there, along with the veg counter, and all manner of resources for you to read up more about low carbing.

If you can't access it, or can't input your weight, just add your weight to the chat thread, and someone will do it for you. (I believe it's difficult to do it from your phone).

But more than anything else, a massive good luck to you all!

All I can say to you is follow the rules!

It does work, but only if you follow them.

Good luck everyone.

Chester you could still try lemon juice in hot water I would think - might help a little. I don't think lemons come under the "no fruit" rule realistically as they aren't sweet. Just looked on my bottled lemon juice in the fridge and it was 1.7g carb / 100 mL. Hope you start to feel better soon!

BursarsFrogs · 07/02/2017 07:43

I had a night of insomnia, and though I wasn't that hungry, had a big bowl of Total yoghurt in the middle of the night. I don't usually eat even if I can't sleep, so not sure what that was about.

Plan today:
B: omelette with feta and spinach
L: yesterday's chicken casserole with avocado
D: salmon fillets and cauliflower mash

ThisProductContainsBatteries · 07/02/2017 07:43

I'm spending a bloody fortune on this diet! There's only so many LC cottage pies and beef burgers I can stomach.

My staple economy ingredients before were pulses, I miss them.

OwlInAnOakTree · 07/02/2017 07:45

ThisProduct & dementedma thanks, I'll give cream a try.

Great reading what everyone's eating. Think my menu for today is:

Scrambled eggs with butter
Leftover sausages which I think I'll stir fry with brocolli
Chicken wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese with lots of veg

Have a good day 2 everyone. Smile

ThisProductContainsBatteries · 07/02/2017 07:46

Anyway, today I'm:

B mashed avocado, 2x HB egg, feta

L broccoli and spinach with butter and lemon, might have a bit of smoked mackerel or tuna mayo

D LC cottage pie 🙄

Snack FF Greek yoghurt or babybel

GrassWillBeGreener · 07/02/2017 07:46

My scales aren't very accurate but looks like I dropped 2 lb from yesterday - must drink more water today :) Think I managed the minimum but not necessarily masses over.

nextchapter - have you thought of mixing up your meals? There's no reason why your breakfast shouldn't look like lunch or dinner if you are hungry and that's what you feel like. Though I appreciate it is awkward around children's evening meals. (I'm coeliac so have often done "weird" things for breakfast in the past!)

MyShinyThing · 07/02/2017 07:54

I've just entered my start weight on the SoF & it was even worse than I thought. I've put back on all the weight I lost on the last bootcamp! What an idiot, now I have to start all over again.

Anyway today will be:
B: avocado mashed with olive oil
L: mushroom soup
D: bolognese with courgette

Plus lots of mint tea & water.

Hope everyone has another good day.

Donatinasdonutdelight · 07/02/2017 07:57

Just checking in this morning. Yesterday was a good day meal wise but I did find I was pretty hungry by the evening, I think I may need to up the amount of fat I'm eating.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms planned for breakfast if I can get a shift on.

Chicken and avocado salad for lunch, dinner I'm unsure of yet but I'm going shopping later. I must try to be more organised.

Have a good day all Smile

mistywillow17 · 07/02/2017 08:00

Checking in quickly to keep myself honest - plan for today:
Breakfast - boiled eggs with butter, 2 chipolatas
Lunch - little gem lettuce with chinese style pork mince/aubergine mix
Dinner - Possibly a bit of lamb curry, but I need to check the recipe with MIL who made it for us. I suspect it might not be within bootcamp rules, so I have a backup plan of a big bowl of cauli/broc and stilton soup and more buttery eggs.

Good luck today everyone

HeyRoly · 07/02/2017 08:18

Forgot to weigh myself yesterday morning, but this morning I was 132.2. Could someone add that to the spreadsheet please?

Planning to make Thai green curry with chicken thigh fillets tonight. I'm hoping a little (shop bought, onvioudly!) curry paste won't be too carby in the grand scheme of things!

Looneytune253 · 07/02/2017 08:27

Can anyone tell me, on the app, is there any way of jumping to the end of the thread. Dont even have pages on my app, so literally have to scroll down whole thread, grrr. Anyway. First proper day and have had coffee and cream and 2 eggs scrambled with butter and some smoked salmon and spinach. Is there such a thing as too much fat though? Its unnerving me lol.

BIWI · 07/02/2017 08:34

Nope! No such thing as too much fat - certainly not in the early days.

And in reality, you'll find it's difficult to eat too much as it's quickly very satiating.

@ThisProductContainsBatteries

Why are you only eating cottage pie or beef burgers?! That's the quickest way to fall of any diet, only eating one or two things. You'll get bored and tired of that incredibly quickly.

There's no excuse for eating well, and eating a varied diet on low carb - just because you can't eat pasta/potatoes/rice/pulses, doesn't mean you can't enjoy your food.

Have a look at the recipe thread for inspiration - there are loads of different recipes there!

@OwlInAnOakTree - you really need to cut down/out that amount of milk, as you'll end up with your carbs coming from that rather than from veg/salad. It's much better to use cream (if you can stomach it - I find it very hard!), or switch to drinking something else.

OwlInAnOakTree · 07/02/2017 08:45

Thanks BIWI - will try! Grin

Bambi356 · 07/02/2017 08:45

Had a good day yesterday food wise, didn't feel too hungry so that was good.

I think drinking 4L of water will be the biggest challenge, couldn't sleep for all the toilet visits. Does this get better, or is constantly running to the loo just something I'll have to deal with?

Today I plan to have:
B: Scrambled Eggs & Bacon (If I'm hungry, not really a brekkie person)
L: Egg Drop Soup
D: Sesame Seed Chicken W Broccoli

ThisProductContainsBatteries · 07/02/2017 08:57

BIWI I'm not of course, I'm being flippant :)

I find the recipes thread hard to navigate and in any case it's all so meat based - I only buy ethically farmed meat so it's expensive. As other have said, veggie low carb gets very boring very fast.

BIWI · 07/02/2017 09:00

Ah. OK Smile

Well, if you will make life difficult for yourself ... Grin

There are lots of veggie recipes in there, but I get what you mean about being hard to navigate. Perhaps we should set up a vegetarian recipe thread?

Also, do you have Rose Elliott's book? Vegetarian Low Carb Diet book Some lovely recipes in here

SayrraT · 07/02/2017 09:09

loony if you tap on the three wee dots at the bottom right of a post you can "bookmark". When you come back to the thread it will magically transport you to where you left off Grin

thisproduct why don't you tell us what you used to eat and dine posters might have suggestions for alternatives. I also made [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CljImUq_hkeWTuriuZGA6zKQUyT0NWwNynYPXQHrt-k/edit?usp=drives do this spreadsheet] which might have some suitable ideas and be easier to navigate than the recipe thread.

SayrraT · 07/02/2017 09:10

Oh no, I've forgotten how to do links!

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CljImUq_hkeWTuriuZGA6zKQUyT0NWwNynYPXQHrt-k/edit?usp=drivesdk

Hopefully one of those works!

SayrraT · 07/02/2017 09:10

Do we not need brackets for links anymore?!

HeyRoly · 07/02/2017 09:13

It's two square brackets, not one Smile

ThisProductContainsBatteries · 07/02/2017 09:13

I ate a LOT of bean and chickpea based stews. Lentil curries. Brown rice, quinoa, bulgar wheat etc. Oats. My diet wasn't massively white carb based at all.

I shall order that Rose Elliott book, thank you :)

Tartle · 07/02/2017 09:16

Plan for today is:

Bf: Cajun Chicken and Avocado salad (was supposed to be lunch but forgot I'm meeting a friend!)
Lunch: hopefully can find some sort of salad or maybe steak
Dinner: venison stew

I have actually been really organised and put stew in the slow cooker so will be ready when I get back from the gym.

Weighed this morning and I've lost 3lbs which is amazing. Ketostix showing traces as well. My half arsed attempts to low carb over the last few weeks have obviously given me a bit of a head start.

I am feeling really light headed when I stand up though. More salt?

SayrraT · 07/02/2017 09:26

heyroly the link that did work was no brackets!

BIWI · 07/02/2017 09:31

Definitely more salt!

And don't waste your money on ketostix. If you're drinking the amount of water that you should do, you'll be washing all those ketones away so the sticks won't really register much of a colour change. Instead of helping you that can be dispiriting.
