Evening all!

Just getting this out there, so that everyone knows where to go/what to do in the morning.

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I'd like to say a massive thank you and Flowers to Sayrra and Wombattoo who set this up and maintain it for us all.

PLEASE don't touch anything other than the cell where you input your weight.

If your name isn't on the list, just add it to the bottom, and it will be magically re-alphabetised to include you.

It's called the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness because of all the information and resources that are available to us. Look at the tabs at the bottom - the rules are there, along with the veg counter, and all manner of resources for you to read up more about low carbing.

If you can't access it, or can't input your weight, just add your weight to the chat thread, and someone will do it for you. (I believe it's difficult to do it from your phone).

But more than anything else, a massive good luck to you all!

All I can say to you is follow the rules!

It does work, but only if you follow them.

Good luck everyone.

I maybe shouldn't have done but I weighed myself this morning (after one day LC!) and appear to have put 2lbs ON overnight Shock

Saying that, I've not been for a shit for around 4 days :-(

Can anyone just confirm that what I ate yesterday was ok?

Breakfast - protein shake (made with whey powder, almond milk and peanut butter) -- I realise now the peanut butter is a no no so I'll scrap that next time

Lunch - homemade turkey meatballs made with lean turkey mince, feta cheese, spinach and roasted red peppers served with broccoli rice

Dinner - Beef Medalion steak with tenderstem broccoli and homemade mushroom sauce (butter, mushrooms, double cream and mustard).

According to MFP the day's carbs tally up to 21g which I know is slightly over but I'm putting that down to the peanut butter.

I only took in around 1100 calories though but I was stuffed, I'm not a big eater and can't see how I could have pushed that up without reaching for a packet of crisps or something!?

TheRippedOutPage · 07/02/2017 09:49

Also I drank 2 750ml bottles of water yesterday

BursarsFrogs · 07/02/2017 10:04

TheRippedOutPage 1100 kcal is a tiny amount. You'll get more easily if you swap to fattier meats, for example.

RupertsMum2 · 07/02/2017 10:36

I wish I could like eggs more. No matter what way I cook them I get sick of them quite quickly. Our co-op had boxes of 6 medium free range eggs for 32p yesterday so I bought 3 dozen but still had yogurt for breakfast this am!

B. FF Yogurt, coffee with cream
L. Chicken, green salad, avocado and mayo
D. Chicken (with buttery, creamy sauce) curry, green beans, cauliflower.

Primitivo · 07/02/2017 10:38

SayrraT thanks for the handy menu sheet, are all the *meals found in the recipe thread?

fleuricle · 07/02/2017 10:41

is there a link to a RECIPES section, pls//?

Musicianofbremen · 07/02/2017 10:45

Rupert I am the same with eggs. Added one to my salad last night couldn't face them again today.

Anyway I have hit the ground running and already feel better for t today.

Breakfast I whipped double cream and Greek yoghurt with some vanilla and a black coffee.

I ran some intervals after I dropped the kids off. Found it quite hard and was all ready to blame the l/c but actually I was going faster than usual.

Post run snack is buttered spinach, avocado and roast chicken.

Lunch will be chorizo, olives, cheese and rocket.

Dinner - steak burger, blue cheese, mushrooms and broccoli.

I think I am just going to cut out normal tea. It calls out for a biscuit too much. Will stick to black coffee and herbal tea.

SayrraT · 07/02/2017 11:37

Yes primitivo the starred recipes can all be found on the recipe thread.

If anyone makes anything from the list can you work out the carb count and I'll add it to the spreadsheet.

fleuricle · 07/02/2017 11:50

I really like the canned ratatouille mix from Asda {blush]
it is tomatoes, courgettes, aubergine and peppers. plus a bit of starch and sugar.
it works out at 16.4g carbs (all sugars) per 400g can
is that okay or am I aiming for lower?

I find it really good as an accompaniment for chops etc and it's a good filling for a veggie omlette

fleuricle · 07/02/2017 11:54

where iS the recipe thread pls?

I really struggled in the gym today, didn't manage my usual routine, and have come away a shaky mess. I shouldn't really be surprised, since I still have the tail end of a cold and haven't been going properly (because of said cold and a holiday) for a good few weeks.

It seems odd to me not to be counting calories/carbs and logging food on MFP. Usually I always do that when I'm trying to "be good". I've had an eating disorder for more than 20 years, so struggle with the concept that you could just eat food when you're hungry, until you're not hungry and then stop and then not feel bad about any of it... But I hope staying away from weighing and counting foods will help me not to obsess.

jumie · 07/02/2017 12:07

Starting today. meals for today

Was not too hungry in the morning so had a late breakfast of FF yogurt with with vanilla and some chia seeds.

Late Lunch will be slim noodles cooked with some mixed veg and mince with some cabbage in mayo on the side to keep my fats up.

If i get hungry before bed, will have some steak and broccoli cooked in butter.

Hoping to get to 3l of water.

Musicianofbremen · 07/02/2017 12:10

Are chia seeds low carb? Hope so, will start adding them to the yoghurt mix for brekkie

jumie · 07/02/2017 12:14

I think they are. Can you please confirm if they are okay BIWI :)

I also add some almond milk so it doesnt get too thick. Leave overnight and have in the morning.

BIWI · 07/02/2017 12:24

@TheRippedOutPage

Breakfast - protein shake (made with whey powder, almond milk and peanut butter) -- I realise now the peanut butter is a no no so I'll scrap that next time

How many carbs in the whey powder? And peanut butter is definitely a no go for Bootcamp! (Although would be OK in Bootcamp Light, as long as you make sure it's a low carb one - check the carb count as they vary hugely)

Lunch - homemade turkey meatballs made with lean turkey mince, feta cheese, spinach and roasted red peppers served with broccoli rice

Why lean mince? We need to eat fattier meat. If you're starting with a lean mince like this (and I know it can be hard to buy it any fattier!) then add some olive or coconut oil to it to up the fat content. The rest of this sounds lovely, although beware that red peppers can also be a bit high in carbs.

Dinner - Beef Medalion steak with tenderstem broccoli and homemade mushroom sauce (butter, mushrooms, double cream and mustard).

Sounds lovely! I hope you also fried the steak in butter/oil?)

According to MFP the day's carbs tally up to 21g which I know is slightly over but I'm putting that down to the peanut butter.

There's no daily carb count for Bootcamp - so don't worry about this. 21g is pretty low carb anyway, especially given the peanut butter Grin

I only took in around 1100 calories though but I was stuffed, I'm not a big eater and can't see how I could have pushed that up without reaching for a packet of crisps or something!?

More fat would have done this. But again - don't worry about the calories. Just follow Bootcamp rules and you'll be fine.

Also I drank 2 750ml bottles of water yesterday

That's only 1.5 litres. You should be drinking a minimum of 2. And the more you weigh, the more you need to drink - check out the table I posted earlier in the thread.

@jumie - seeds aren't allowed in the first two weeks of Bootcamp, so you'll have to wait until we've finished this fortnight!

They are, though, relatively low in carbs - at around 6 - 8g carbs per 100g (sorry, the figures I've got vary)

This was exactly my thinking behind Bootcamp. That it should be effortless to do and without a hint of obsession. Therefore making it as 'normal' a way to eat as possible. (Plus also with the knowledge that you can relax it a little after the first two weeks, and then again when you reach your goal).

I hope that it helps you. Smile

Oh, and you will find the gym or running/any other exercise harder to start with, as your body switches from burning carbs to burning fat. Stick with it and you should find that in a couple of weeks' time you're back to peak performance - maybe even beating your PBs!

OP posts:
BIWI · 07/02/2017 12:32

@fleuricle - That's pretty high actually. How much of a can are you eating at any one time?

jumie · 07/02/2017 13:03

Thanks BIWI

BIWI · 07/02/2017 13:30

I was looking for the increasingly-elusive courgettes when doing my shopping on Saturday, and found that although Sainsbury's didn't have any, they did have these - courgette lasagne sheets

I made lasagne with them last night, making my cheese sauce with double cream and cheese (rather than using flour) and it was really tasty!

You need to make your bolognese sauce a bit drier than if you were making lasagne with dried lasagne sheets, and keep the cheese sauce as thick as you can (which means more cheese!), but it was great.

ChesterDrawers · 07/02/2017 13:33

BIWI, they look amazing. That is so going on my list! I managed to get some actual courgettes delivered from Tesco today, so am doing courgetti for tea, but will try that next time.
