Morning all!

Sorry for the later than usual start but I have the advantage of a later start myself today so had a bit of a lie-in.

Anyway here's the Spreadsheet of Doom for you all

Just one more week before our final weigh-in next Monday. Fingers crossed that there's time to lose another couple of pesky pounds before then!

Festival food is usually not great from a low carb point of view - so I'd say just go for what you fancy and enjoy the day!

how long did you microwave the Babybel for wilfself ? I tried two minutes at lunch, the outside was perfect (I assume it's supposed to be crisp) but burnt in the middle. Then I tried a minute but on the soft side. Still delicious though.

wombattoo · 23/07/2016 14:53

Yassoo everyone Grin
I'm back from my holidays. I have gained a few pounds. I was quite good food wise but much alcohol was consumed.

I won't be entering a weight on monday, but will use me pre holiday weight as my final. I am back on the bc wagon after tonight

I have caught up on the threads and see there have been some great results. Well done.

I will be around on the ongoing chat thread, as I always am. For those who aren't aware, there isn't a spreadsheet available between bootcamps, but losses can still be posted on the main thread.

Good luck with the final weigh ins Thanks

I've not been the greatest this week Blush Had a gin on Wednesday and some cake yesterday, and one or two days of not quite enough water. Don't think I will reach my target of 2 stone by Monday. Oh well! I'll be another 'lifer' when boot camp ends too. Just wanted to post this, which I have just devoured! Gorgeous meatza with baby spinach dressed with garlic sautéed in loadsa butter. Yum.

veryflummoxed I did the first one for 70 sec in a 1000W microwave. It domed up like a bun and was crispy and a tiny bit chewy. Like a cheesy roll. It was great.

It stuck to the plate though and next time (to try to impress DH) I put a bit of butter on the plate. This was was a disaster, really chewy and didn't really puff up at all. So it may need a bit of trial and error.

The BF sausages were gorgeous so will deffo look up sausage recipes, thanks.

Veryflummoxed · 23/07/2016 21:29

Thanks wilself I will experiment. You're right though it was delicious.

The exploded babybels are a mystery to me, I daren't try them!

Footsore and a little sunburnt after a 17-mile walk in the hot sun! Did have cider at pub afterwards but I figured I'd earnt it...was amazing to do such a long walk while 'fat adapted', I had plenty of energy and very little hunger through the day. And I didn't feel the need to have sweets or carbs to top me up like others did throughout the day.

B: almond milk protein shake with berries, flax seed and macadamia nut butter
L: prosciutto, avocado, olives, lettuce, cherry toms, olive oil, boiled egg
D: burger with bacon and cheese (no bun, no chips) with salad. Did have one onion ring and some tomato chutney they put on plate.
S: almonds, salted peanuts, one and half pint of cider

Gcalgske · 24/07/2016 00:10

Sooooo I've been away without much t'internet and far too much wine. Will need to catch up. Just place marking. Hope everyone is well X

Gcalgske · 24/07/2016 00:53

margarita I swear by lowering protein and IF, together they helped break my loooog stall. Menus look fine but depends on quantities, I aim for less than 70g protein per day (based on the calcs from the art and science of low carb) most days I come in between 50-60g and macros 15% protein/5%carb/80% fat.

Gcalgske · 24/07/2016 00:58

Most hard cheese will crisp or puff in the microwave. Get a silicon Victoria sandwich tin (poundland) actually get a few. They are great for making a big cracker. They are excellent for making little fat head pizza bases in too, I make a batch and freeze them in the silicon tin (just pop each in a ziplock bag). Or get a silicon muffin tin and make little crackers. Yum. Every microwave will vary but I find a minute then 10 second bursts the best option.

Gcalgske · 24/07/2016 01:00

Heck or Debbie and Andrews sausages are also v good (although I know we should be limiting the processed meat) I love a good sausage Grin

I do like the black farmer but I avoid soya so only use them in a pinch when I can only get to the coop...

margaritasbythesea · 24/07/2016 09:17

Gosh gcal that's really little protein. I remember you posting how you did it on another thread but I don't remember which one.

Tbh I have really lost very little weight on lchf though I have been having alcohol two or three times a week and I have put it down to that. I've been too preoccupied and tired to think properly about changes, either tinkering or trying something different, once I got the rules. When I am settled in new country I will think about it again.

flyright · 24/07/2016 09:38

Morning all, very interested by these cheese things but I think I find I a bit too easy to over indulge on dairy so will need to be careful

Some lovely food pics and stories on here. Thanks for posting.

I'm back from Rome 4.2 pounds up. I started quite well but then the pasta and sugary things became too frequent and we went mad and had a Thai takeaway when we got back last night. Pad Thai was so delicious Blush

So back in the saddle today Hoping quite a strict Sunday could see a couple of pounds down before Monday's weigh in.

Have a lovely day everyone. It seems to be proper summer here and after the 36 degrees of Rome quite pleasant!

BIWI · 24/07/2016 09:38

Morning all.

So this is the last day of this Bootcamp! Not sure how many are still on board, but there have been some great results and, I hope, everyone seems to have enjoyed it, and discovered some great recipes along the way.

I'll start a new thread tomorrow, for the final weigh-in, but we can keep that thread going with chat so that there will be continued support, as I'm sure there are plenty of us who will be carrying on.

Gcalgske · 24/07/2016 09:46

Thanks Biwi. Know my involvement has been sporadic to say the best but your support is, as always, very much appreciated. Flowers

SestraClone · 24/07/2016 09:48

What a pain, ate at the festival yesterday (chicken nuggets & chips, an ice-cream then some hog roast but left the bun) and put on 3lbs!! I even avoided the alcohol. It's really scuppered my final BC weight loss, but nevermind as I had an excellent time.

BIWI · 24/07/2016 09:50

Thank you, Gcalgske! And your contributions are brilliant, no matter how frequent!

Sestra - take heart. That gain will not be fat, but will be water and re-filling of your glycogen stores. Lots of water and see if you can do some extra exercise/harder exercise - and a couple of very strict days.

Thanks BIWI, an ongoing thread will be great. Thanks so much for all you do for us boot campers, errant or otherwise.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 24/07/2016 10:15

Thanks BIWI- can't believe that we are at the end of this bootcamp. I feel so good with this way of eating that I definitely will be carrying on and would enjoy the extra chat.

bettyblueeyes83 · 24/07/2016 10:19

Thanks BIWI, I can't believe this is the last day. I've learnt such a lot, not just new recipes, but about my relationship with food and eating. I do feel something has clicked for me with this WOE that has been missing in all my previous efforts to lose weight. I feel free of the hungry, snappy feelings and strong cravings you get when trying to restrict calories while eating carbs and it's wonderful to be eating and enjoying so much whole fresh food. I just have to figure out the alcohol question and it seems ideal to carry on long term.

WilfSell · 24/07/2016 10:21

Yes I'm going to continue anyway so an ongoing thread will be excellent. Far too much alcohol this weekend already (and still half a bottle of Cava in the fridge which I definitely WON'T be able to pour away down the sink tonight Wink ) so I'm sticking with my 1lb loss for this week and hoping next week doesn't go too awry - off on holiday next Friday too!

But just wanted to say thank you for all the effort in the threads and the spreadsheet and the support and the ideas - it has really helped me focus this time round and since I'm 20lbs down overall it has gone REALLY well!

And my mental strength is improving once the cravings are dealt with. I LONGED for a piece of the fluffy white toast and butter that I made for the kids this morning. It smelt unbelievable.

But I just said NO. Just call me Zammo (showing my age Grin)

MothershipG · 24/07/2016 10:53

Well the good news is I've managed to lose a stone Grin yeah! And I couldn't have done it without the support and encouragement of so many people here, thanks to you all!

The bad news is I have another 2 to go Confused so I'll be hanging around and you'll all have to put up with my whinging about missing baking for a good while longer.....
