Morning all. Sorry for the later than usual thread, but I'm away at the moment/1

Anyway, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

As we've now completed the first two, more strict, weeks of Bootcamp you have a choice. You can move on to Bootcamp Light, (rules are on the spreadsheet tabs), which essentially means you can add in a few nuts/seeds, and some fruit (berries, and strictly in moderation), and you can have alcohol occasionally.

However, if you haven't really done Bootcamp strictly enough, or you cheated, or just because you think it's going well, you can stay on Bootcamp. (If you do, though, please make sure your carbs are mainly coming from vegetables and salad, to make sure that you're getting a good balance of nutrition)

Alternatively, you can do Bootcamp during the week but Bootcamp Light at the weekend. The choice is yours.

However, there is one thing I have to warn you about. Weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for little or no weight loss. If this happens to you, please don't panic! Just keep on keeping on and things will start to move again.

After initial big losses in the first couple of weeks, you can't feasibly expect to see that continue, and you should that weight loss settles down at around 1-3lbs a week, depending on how much you have to lose.

Good luck all! Flowers

Only down 1.8lbs this week which is a bit disappointing after last week's 5.4 lose, which I know is unsustainable but still.... Smile

I intend to try and stick to BC most of the time and just occasionally have a few berries or use a little ground almond in recipes.

This morning to celebrate the successful completetion of the first 2 weeks I made these LC pancakes without the sweetener they suggest, they were really good! Next time I will replace half the coconut flour with ground flaxseeds to get the carbs even lower. I had them with vanilla butter - a fabulous sub for syrup! and a small handful of berries. This is definitely going to be my weekend treat.

NotdeadyetBOING · 30/05/2016 10:58

Oh God, BIWI you're right… I have cheated. To be fair, I didn't realise nuts and/or artificial sweeteners were cheating as I am such a newbie to all this and hadn't done proper prep.

Am learning as I go!

FF yogurt with JUST 5 raspberries for breakfast.

About to have steak and buttered spinach for lunch.

Small snack of cheddar.

Half hour swim .

I always drink loads of water so wondering if I need to up it? Also drink lots of cold green tea so hoping that counts.

WanHeda · 30/05/2016 10:58

marg when you are maintaining, you could try the Lidl high protein rolls for your pate, they are about 10g carbs for a whole one but sliced in half, they are still very filling and lovely toasted with butter & pate on.

laser I do think LC does weird things to your cycle, but I think it is good news as its your fat cells shrinking and letting go of the oestrogen!

saffynool · 30/05/2016 10:59

Some amazing losses for the first two weeks! Am just popping into the thread to reiterate it's not always on the scales where the results show. I tend to eat low-carb as a habit, fall off the wagon now and again but it's generally my WOE.

But I've been a bit stricter for the last few weeks, doing Bootcamp Lite, effectively. I've lost about 6 pounds BUT for me the bigger changes are in my body composition and even more importantly, how I feel.

Even if the scales don't move as much as you might like, don't forget you will probably be losing inches. You should also feel better - more energy, better concentration, steadier moods. I realised today that I can almost get my jeans off without undoing the buttons - they were too tight six weeks ago Grin, and I no longer get that horrible afternoon slump in energy. That's why this WOE works in the long term, because it improves so much more than just the number on the scales.

So hope no one minds me jumping in (and hope I'm not being patronising!) but do remember those NSVs - non-scale victories as well! And KOKO!

lasttimeround · 30/05/2016 11:04

3lbs down. KOKO whose been disappointed.

I'm feeling so much better than with carbs. It's a revelation. Im also taking magnesium citrate the last few days and am doing much better on the aches and pains front.

Titsalinabumsquash · 30/05/2016 11:08

I have lost inches! I've lost 2 inches from waist/bust/hips. I'm back to 29" 39" 39" so I'm pleased with that. I a, feeling better about my body, I even wore a short skirt at the weekend! Shock

CiderwithBuda · 30/05/2016 11:11

I think the thing I am proudest of is not having alcohol for the two weeks! Sad but I've not had two weeks alcohol free for a few years. I can be good during the week and see a loss on the scales on a Friday but then I drink too much wine at the weekend and have gained it all back by Monday!

Definitely planning on keeping that going. If I do have a drink it will be gin and slimline tonic. But only at a social event. Really trying to stop just drinking at home because it's just habit. DH is still drinking but it's not bothering me too much. Trying to persuade him to stop has been a no go. But he is trying to drink less - has a big glass of water with every glass of wine.

lisbapalea · 30/05/2016 11:12

Have only lost 1lb this week but I did lose 6lb in week one.

I will opt for bootcamp light from now on as I am desperate to add berries to my morning yogurt!

CiderwithBuda · 30/05/2016 11:12

Well done Titsalina! That's fab!

bettyblueeyes83 · 30/05/2016 11:16

Mothership, they sound amazing! When you say vanilla butter, did you just blend butter with vanilla extract/powder? And is ground flaxseed the same as my Linwood 'milled flaxseed', or even smaller? Excited to try these next weekend!

wombattoo · 30/05/2016 11:18

Morning all. Just flying in. Thanks for the new thread BIWI
I have updated the spreadsheet for all those who asked.
I won't be around much today, but I will read every post tomorrow and update the sheet where required.
Have a good day

Iamdobby63 · 30/05/2016 11:53

Stayed the same this week. Been LCHF dieting for some time. I think I'm about to have a period (wont go into too much detail) and I can never lose anything for the whole week leading up to it no matter what I do, so hoping next weigh in will bring a more positive result.

Well done to all the losers!

Eva50 · 30/05/2016 12:04

Well 2lbs lost this week so that's 222lbs if someone wouldn't mind adding me to the spreadsheet. I'm fairly happy with that but, after a little burst of energy for a couple of days in the first week, I am back to my usual lack of energy and not feeling all that great. I probably didn't drink enough water over the weekend especially as it was so hot here yesterday (well, hotter than usual). I will endeavour to drink more today!

B. FF yogurt with a few berries, 1 coffee with cream, 1 with Almond Milk
L. Chicken leg, salad, mayonnaise
D. Piri Piri chicken with courgetti fried in butter and roasted swede

eleven59 · 30/05/2016 12:06

I have a question if anyone can help: I do a lot of mountain biking - often on the bike all day. I used to carry energy sachets and energy bars which are just full of carbs and sugar and clearly out on LCHF. Any suggestions for an alternative? I was reading about these fat bombs - would they be ok for a boost?

BIWI · 30/05/2016 12:23

Eleven - once you're fat- adapted you won't need anything - your body will use up its fat stores

OP posts:
eleven59 · 30/05/2016 12:27

Ok that's more good news - those sachets are ridiculously expensive!

eleven59 · 30/05/2016 12:28

How do I know when I'm fat adapted?

boldlygoingsomewhere · 30/05/2016 12:40

Thanks for adding me to the spreadsheet. Smile Well done to everyone who lost and KOKO to the maintainers.

Just about to have a tapas lunch but looking forward to a more indulgent pud later - yoghurt with a few strawberries and a bit of grated 90% chocolate on top. This will be my weekend treat.

anniebambammie · 30/05/2016 13:45

I think I'll stick with BC for another week after staying the same this week. And try and cut out some cheese Blush

Has anyone really upped their water intake and noticed a big difference? (To anything, not even necessarily just weight loss)

CiderwithBuda · 30/05/2016 13:50

I have anniebam. I definitely notice a difference in the taste in my mouth when I drink the water. Haven't had enough yet today and can definitely taste that horrible taste. I know it means I am in ketosis but I don't like it.

I'm also a bit more 'regular' if you know what I mean when I drink enough water.

stilllovingmysleep · 30/05/2016 13:53

Lovely brunch at cafe

Week 3 - Pre-summer Low Carb Bootcamp - the choice is yours!
stilllovingmysleep · 30/05/2016 13:54

(There's spinach under the eggs)

saffynool · 30/05/2016 14:32

Just had a delicious lunch of bacon, mushrooms, spinach and avocado, with a big dollop of Waitrose mustard mayo. My BPC from this morning had kept me full enough to not need to eat until now.

Dp went out to the shop to grab something for lunch - asked me if I wanted anything. Came back with two pot noodles and a pack of tunnocks caramel wafers, and that's after a bacon sandwich for breakfast Hmm Hmm. He will happily cook and eat LCHF food with me but goes madly off-piste if left to his own devices!

flyright · 30/05/2016 14:45

Just a pound off.

Been a really busy week work wise and socially. Wine has slowed down my loss and work has interfered with my ability to fully read the threads and focus on this WOE.
Very irritating
Grin

I have 2 dinners out this week but want to speed up a bit so will try to be better about my wine. Blush

Thanks everyone for all the tips and motivation.

margaritasbythesea · 30/05/2016 15:02

Thanks for that suggestion Wanheda. There are some things, pate being one of them, that I love but can't imagine eating without bread. I have bought some of my favourite one but it is just sitting in the fridge.

Thanks Cider and stilloving - I am really proud of not having drunk for two weeks and to be honest I have not missed it. This might have something to do with me being knackered though (not bc related tiredness) btu also to do with not having that carby craving feeling.

Very useful information on reintroducing. I will look at it more closely when I get there.

By occasional I was referring to BIWIs OP about fruit and nuts.

I am trying not to think about losing weight or inches as I have my period due. I have that fat and frumpy feeling.

I have a kind of tacky feeling in my mouth. I am putting it down to the diet though I don't know if it is. If it's not I don't know what it is.

Thank you all for contributing to me not diving head first into the bread bin. It really helps!
