Morning all! I'm excited to see what the scales are telling everyone this week - it sounds like we've had some great results so far!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Here's to another successful week

Hey everyone! Great to see so many fab losses on here this week, well done!

4lbs off this week for me which is a lot more than I was expecting as I've been LC since the 1st of April now and I'm approaching the 2st mark, so I was expecting it to start slowing.

On a downside though, I also appear to have picked up a nasty stomach bug and have been struggling to keep anything down since Saturday, and my appetite is shot.

Any suggestions on what to try?

The thought of eating eggs is turning my stomach and meat/cheese is too heavy at the moment (I'm struggling to keep water down at times), usually I'd be on dry toast at this point but I have literally zero desire for bread or to break my LC streak.

SoMuchToBits · 23/05/2016 23:32

Thanks Sayrra, sorry forgot to reply to your post. I guess I had just hoped for 1-2 lb per week, rather than 3lb in 4 weeks, which is less than a pound per week, but maybe I'm impatient! I have about 2 stone to lose (from a starting weight of 10 stone 10lb). Although I wasn't following a specific diet before Low Carbing, I always watch what I eat just to stay the same. If I don't think about it and just eat, I gain weight rapidly (as at Christmas this year when I put on about 8lb in about 10 days Blush).

Thanks also BIWI for the advice. I should be able to drink a bit more water.

I will try to add more fat, although I'm putting butter/mayo/oil on nearly everything and eating lots of avocados. I will try also with the meat, although normally I would only eat meat at all once or maybe twice a week. I would naturally always choose fish/seafood or chicken over meat.

The burgers were butchers own, so probably not too processed, but tbh I was only eating them to try and up my meat fat content, so I don't mind not eating them. Can probably manage without the bacon if I try hard enough.

I might be able to cut down the number of cups of tea I have, but don't think I can drink it black. I'm pretty much addicted to tea though, and will need my first 3 cups in the morning before I can function, so will find it hard to eliminate the cream altogether.

I'll let you know how I get on! Smile

SoggyBottoms · 24/05/2016 07:02

I noticed someone mentioned up thread about nightmares. Is this a thing on LC? Because I have been having seriously crazy dreams!! Anyone else ?

BIWI · 24/05/2016 07:04

For all those of you who are unhappy with losing 'only' one pound, can I point you to this? This is what a pound of fat looks like.

Hi SoggyBottoms, I haven't been having nightmares but I have been having dreams every night & quite vivid ones! Which is unusual for me (that many dreams).

Pisseslikeahorse · 24/05/2016 07:28

BING BONG morning all

totally upbeat today, had a good day yesterday finishing with a run, that my body used as a signal of my lowcarbyness / vengeance for eating crap at the weekend.
But I'm up getting set for work after a good breakfast of beef eggs cheese and a couple of little toms, its sunny, I'm working outside today and my bicycles calling.
Will have some salad for lunch more beef and roast celeriac for dinner and perhaps another run

have a good day all Smile

stilllovingmysleep · 24/05/2016 07:45

Pisses (can I call you pisses?Grin) I'm in a similar mood. Beautiful day isn't it. Had boiled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast.

Buddahbelly · 24/05/2016 07:53

Well done everyone, 3 Lb off here, throught it may have been more but was working at the weekend (At an artisan food event where they make the most amazing food!) so couldn't help myself and had a few cheats, but still happy with 3Lb off. will stick religiously to it this week and also try and get to the gym a few times too, although have another event next week and the lead up is always so busy i barely have time to breathe... hoping this will also make me too busy to snack!

WanHeda · 24/05/2016 07:53

BIWI, can I start to skip breakfast now? Im 3.5 weeks in, and it's a struggle to force myself.

SoggyBottoms · 24/05/2016 08:10

So weird isn't it? Hope it isn't making you love your sleep any lessWink

Patapouf · 24/05/2016 08:15

STS this week, but I am on week 3/4 now and I simply have not had enough water, maybe only 2l some days. Oh well, KOKO etc!
Dinner last night was gorgeous, LC sausages with swede mash and sautéed cabbage with lots of butter. I'm having leftovers for breakfast Grin

Lunch will be mozzarella and salad
Dinner: spicy chicken and celery curry and cauli rice

BIWI · 24/05/2016 08:19

Yes you can, WanHeda. Just keep an eye on the hunger levels!

I rarely have breakfast these days - it's a habit I've got into. But my rule of thumb is that if I start to feel hungry on the way to work, I buy myself something to eat.

SayrraT · 24/05/2016 08:37

Off to do some XC schooling with my horse today so I've packed a salad.

B: 3 fried eggs, coffee with cream
L: turkey salad (lettuce, red pepper, cucumber, mayo, pork scratchings and turkey)
D: tbc

NotQuiteJustYet · 24/05/2016 08:53

Sorry to repost - any LC suggestions akin to dry toast for someone who can't keep food down?

Meat/cheese/veg is way too heavy and the thought of eating egg is turning my stomach.

HumphreyCobblers · 24/05/2016 08:54

I have broken the ten stone barrier!! The scales this morning said 9 stone 13 and three quarter pounds so I hopped off quickly before they could readjust.

I had been trying for six weeks to get past this and thanks to this thread and the timely reminder to eat more fat, I have finally done it. I can't tell you how frustrated I had got.

I could do with losing ten pounds from here (I am a short person) and I am really looking forward to it.

PlayNice · 24/05/2016 08:55

Can I join late? I'm not weighing myself so I don't need to be added to the spreadsheet, but I'm trying to LC.

B: FF Turkish Yogurt
L: leftover chicken/turkey tikka masala with spinach and homemade raita
D: chicken and avocado salad.

Snacks: kale crisps

StuntNun · 24/05/2016 09:00

NotQuite if you aren't feeling well then eat whatever will get you through. You may find you aren't hungry because being fat-adapted gives you better access to your body's fat stores. But after a bout of sickness most people want to eat dry carbs. If you aren't eating anything else then the carbs in one slice of bread aren't going to do any harm. It's more important to get better than to stick to the rules when you're ill.

Mookbark · 24/05/2016 09:02

Humphrey Yay. Well done. Star I can't wait to get there, although I'm almost half a stone off the 11 stone barrier, never mind the 10 stone one. Do you mind me asking how tall you are? I'm 5'2" and it's interesting to know what target weights people of a similar height have.
I'm another feeling good today, although I'm not quite up to pisses bing bong level. Only 4 more days of work, then I'm off for half term.
Food today will be:
B - creamy coffee x2, halloumi and olives
L - leftover sausage casserole, but as there is only one sausage left because of greedy DH, I've brought two eggs and some butter to work to scramble to go with it.
D - was supposed to be a curry out of the freezer, but I forgot to take it out, so will try and buy something like peppered mackerel on the way home from work and have with either salad or roasted veg.

StuntNun · 24/05/2016 09:02

Soggy apparently eating low carb improves sleep quality so end up spending longer in REM sleep hence more dreams / nightmares.

Veryflummoxed · 24/05/2016 09:04

Hi Soggybottoms Lots of dreams here too. Weird and wonderful. I think it may be because the sleep quality is so good.- except for the loo trips of course!

Biwi. That was a beautifully disgusting pile of fat. Very inspiring.

Abracadabra12 · 24/05/2016 09:07

It's TOTM and I'm struggling a bit. Food for today is:

B two egg muffin things
L halloumi, roast aubergine and courgette salad
D going to a Persian restaurant and hoping I can have something like a kebab and salad

But oh I would kill for a milky coffee and a pain au chocolat right now!

Pengweng · 24/05/2016 09:10

Breakfast was chicken and mushroom omelette with cream.
Lunch chicken and veg
Dinner salmon and courgette noodles.

Gcalgske · 24/05/2016 09:22

Gcalgske · 24/05/2016 09:24
